It would ease the frustration a little if Sark won the Duke's Mayo bowl so I could watch him get doused by a cooler of soybean crap mayo like he deserves.

^^^ Just came here to post this.  Playing v. ISU is an automatic loss if the players have the same enthusiasm I have about the Cyclones.  God, what a let down.

If us v. Miami was a bowl game played prior to say, 2001 I would have been seething with hate.  But I don't even care anymore.

Bonagura seems like an idiot. How is LSU going to go to a better bowl than us? Does he think they're going to upset OU this week? Even if they did, they'd be 8-4 which would match us if we lose to aggy. Then it goes to conference record. We would be 5-3 in conference, LSU would be 4-4. Dumb ragebait.

What's a Reliaquest Bowl Walter?  At least in Mack's shitty years we went to the Holiday or the Alamo.  The sec bowls seem like they suck.  Orlando?  Tampa?  Charlotte?

At least Tampa has good strip clubs.

We'll probably get the Citrus Bowl vs. Michigan or the ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Iowa, with Vandy getting the other matchup.

The Citrus Bowl independently gets first choice of non-playoff SEC teams. Have to think they'd prefer us to Vandy.

I think it goes to conference record which we have over Vandy given the head to head. But I agree that they'll prefer a Manning and Texas to Vandy.

Apparently it could also go to rankings. Which likely means Vanderbilt to the Citrus Bowl, and us in the Gator Bowl against Miami.

A little more Florida recruiting can help in either case. We still owe Miami payback, and since we'll see Michigan in '27, maybe the Gator is best. As long as we show up.

ESPN's projection

Cheez-It Citrus Bowl
Camping World Stadium (Orlando, Florida)
3 p.m., ABC
Bonagura: Michigan vs. Texas
Schlabach: Michigan vs. Texas

They have Vandy in the Gator or Reliaquest. The SEC gets a say in the bowl matchups so they'll want favorable matchups in each one.

Is it CFP rankings???

Maybe Texas vs USC...

Texas could still be ranked higher than Vandy in the CFP...

We played Michigan last year...hopefully we get a new matchup.

Agreed - I'd rather play Iowa or USC (I keep forgetting they're in the B1G)

Aren't usc, ucla, oregon, and washington (and the 4 now in the XII) still tied to pac12 zombie bowls until those contracts expire?  I remember it was a thing last year.

edited to answer my own question

PAC-12 LEGACY SCHOOLS TO PLAY IN PAC-12 BOWL GAMES

July 16, 2024

EL PASO, Texas – The Sun Bowl Association, Pac-12, ACC, Big 10 Conference and Big 12 Conference have come to an agreement for the 2024 and 2025 college football seasons where the 10 schools leaving the Pac-12 will still play in Pac-12 affiliated bowls the next two seasons and not in bowl tie-ins with their new conferences.

The announcement came following the recent conference football media days and conference meetings.

“We are grateful and excited to still maintain our relationships with teams that are making moves,” Sun Bowl Executive Director Bernie Olivas said. “This will help the transition in the future, whatever that may be.”

The contracts between the conferences and the bowls don’t end until after the 2025 season. With only Oregon State and Washington State remaining in the Pac-12 in 2024, the six bowls with Pac-12 ties could not be filled without drawing from other conferences.

Due to the mass departure of Pac-12 schools, all stakeholders agreed that the former Pac-12 programs, referred to as “Pac-12 legacy schools,” along with Oregon State and Washington State, would continue to participate in Pac-12 bowl games until the new bowl contracts commence in 2026.

Oregon State and Washington State are the only two schools remaining with Pac-12 designation. Oregon, Washington, UCLA, and USC are now members of the Big Ten Conference. Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah are now members of the Big 12. Stanford and Cal are now members of the ACC.

After the 12-team College Football Playoff field is selected, the former Pac-12 bowl-eligible teams will be considered part of the Pac-12’s bowl pool. This will keep Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington (Big Ten), Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah (Big 12), and Cal and Stanford (ACC) from participating in their new conference bowl games until 2026.

The six Pac-12 bowl tie-ins in 2024 and 2025 are the Alamo Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, Los Angeles Bowl and the Independence Bowl (in 2024)/ESPN event bowl (in 2025).

3pm on NYE vs Michigan would be a marquee bowl game and slot...sure sucks to get michigan agian, but would be a solid win to end the season and catapult us to next year.
