Didn’t Bielak step up in a situation like this a few years ago?

if not coming in for an injury, was for an unexpected spot start

Found it.

That injury for Urquidy only kept him out 2.5 weeks, but sounds like this one is different from his quotes yesterday

100% this.  You never have enough starting pitching.  Never.

it's crazy how many teams are dealing with this right now.  the yankees were supposed to have a great rotation, now it's cole + scrubs.  the mets were the dream team, now they're patching together sp2-5.  i heard an interview with someone with the m's before the season about their "3 aces", which played out about as well as you'd expect.

hopefully these are not surgery injuries.  we have the depth to deal with this thank god.  it should also coincide with our schedule letting up a bit.  next man up.

I would have hoped that statistical milestone could remove that offensive millstone from the #1 spot in the lineup but alas, we have the mighty Meyers/Maldonado/Dubon bottom of the 3rd inning nut punch set up right now, so that's always nice.

3rd inning nut punch- check.
5th inning 2 out hero’s.
