Damn, UNC Wilmington wouldn't get a hometown shot at Michael Jeffrey Jordan?

With all respect to the lovely Wilmington area, it was just the first satellite that came to mind. Would certainly be a savage recruiting battle.

I saw a CC Fever shirt in Bastrop, Texas today. In case anyone is wondering how big she is.

Yes it was being worn by a butch lesbian but that's not the point.

Incorrect, the type of wearer is the point. Seeing a shirt on a target demo is not evidence of expanding popularity. Simply confirms the intended base is watching the biggest name.

Well yes that was kind of the joke.

It was still surprising.

it’s such a regular foul too. there was nothing dirty or excessive about it, in fact i wouldn’t even call it a hard foul. it was literally just the standard play that the situation called for, and then reese goes full on

giphy.gif?cid=9b38fe91wc2gg3gqxkt8xzsso9

out of nowhere, followed by her getting up and acting like she was just assaulted. angel reese absolutely has a very real hatred for CC and it’s as embarrassing as it is one-sided.

Crazy, I've watched that play a dozen times from two different angles and still can't figure out why the hell she fell, other than she flopped like fish on a pier.

I don't believe @ztejas, I'm in Bastrop right now and have seen no Fever jerseys nor @ztejas. Got something to hide??? SHOW YOURSELF.

We wound up getting a motel room. She's giving men another chance. I told her to keep the shirt on.

If her teammates could make a fucking layup she'd have about 15 or 20 assists right now.

Been preaching this for a year. I still think she's a good player overall, not a Top 30 player or even close. But could be a good starter/role player on a good team.

But there is NO way she should have 14 shots and the next closest has 9.  ABSOLUTELY none. Even if they're her own misses.  Shooting 38% from 3-5 feet on 14 shots is obscene.

Reese is a loose cannon that will never play on a team in the WNBA that can win a title until she figures out that she is not a 1st or 2nd option. Clark has the entire top floor rent free. The foul was not excessive, but she did know what she was doing.

Meanwhile Clark puts up another triple double and pistol whips the Sky by 35. One player is an all-time talent that will win multiple titles and the other can’t figure out the mystery of the successful layup.

Yep. She isn't a top 4 offensive weapon on that team...and she just won't see it. Or they won't make her.

Europe maybe,  Spain has a decent women's league, pays well comparable to the WNBA, and not a bad place to live.

Not much different than what we see from the better men's and women's soccer players going overseas.

I understand ztejas position about how viewership is going to grow because of all the participation in the youth leagues etc... which will translate into viewers.

When I was in elementary school my Mom signed me up for a youth soccer program and we went to watch Kyle Rote Jr and the Dallas Tornado play at Ownbey Stadium. That gives you a hint how long ago this was and at the time we heard the very same thing.  Soccer will eventually become very popular in the US because of all the youth players who will eventually become viewers etc.....and it did grow a bit.

If you expect Clark to raise the profile of the league similar to what Magic and Bird did for the NBA she and her team need to win titles and force the rest of the league to elevate their games otherwise she is Pete Maravich playing in obscurity in Atlanta and  New Orleans ,

Man that's ridiculous. Clark has already had a bigger impact that Pistol Pete.  She may not be a better talent...but her impact to the game has been more than his ever could be measured to be.

the way that seemingly everyone born after the turn of the century is in a race to see who can be the biggest victim on a daily basis is just wild to me.

My conclusion as well. Didn’t see anything from Clark that would have gotten her momentum going that way at all, let alone to where she couldn’t catch her balance.

That's crazy because you completely missed Haley Van Lith and Sabrina Ionescu scissoring mid court.

Wait til this guy learns that the internet is full of scissoring videos, many with actual hot chicks rather than "WNBA hot" chicks.

Y’all commenting on shit that happened in a WNBA game as if it’s an anomaly when y’all have seen similar shit go down in NBA games for years is funny. Omg someone overreacted to a foul, the horror. I remember someone overreacting to a foul in an NBA game once and it caused an entire brawl that went into the stands. Y’all don’t remember? I remember. What happened between Reese and Clark is fucking child’s play, and y’all sound like a bunch of clutching pearls ass bitches still taking about it.

no, the league’s foremost victim/pschopath wildly overreacted to a standard foul given to her by the object of her ire. this isn’t some random player randomly overreacting to a random foul, this is the most objectively hatable active wnba player ever making headlines for all of the same wrong, jealous, petty, violent reasons as usual. and in case you somehow skipped over every single twitter link in this thread, it ain’t like our small little group here is going out of our way to make a deal out of this, as this is arguably the biggest talking point currently going in american sports. don’t let that phase you from spouting all of that righteous indignation though.

America is filled with a bunch of pussies, that’s nothing new. I’m sure it fills you with joy to know there are a bunch of pussies like you to congregate with on stupid fucking “issues” like this. This is a nothing burger. And I highly doubt you know Reese personally enough to even have that opinion of her anyway.  Which is funny considering how you kick and scream liking a fucking baby when you draw the ire of this board. You seem to have an issue with women who aren’t here to please Derka and make him feel good. You should probably talk to your therapist about that.

I didn’t mention race in my reply I haven’t even stated a side on this because there isn’t a side to take. You off your meds or something?

Again these “altercations” take place almost every night in the NBA. Why some of you are up in arms about this is beyond me.

I’m laughing at Angel too. It’s quite comical she can’t consistently make layup/put back at the WNBA level, so I could give a fuck less about Reese, and in turn also recognize the bitchassness from most of you on this issue. Both things can be true.

Calling stupid fucks like you out over dumb shit like this doesn’t require getting worked up.

Derka really should just move on from the WNBA, imagine being this angry towards Reese or this infatuated with Clark. Somebody earlier called, it’s incel vibes to the fullest.

tell me captain save-a-hoe: is it incel behavior when i say that draymond is a punk for incessantly kicking people in the nuts, or is it just simple fact? funny how the women want to be treated the same as the men, and then the moment they get even a fraction of the criticism that men get it’s racist, misogynistic, and incel behavior. you save-a-hoe folks are the incels. don’t save her; she don’t wanna be saved.

I was watching the game today. This was the biggest thing I took away from watching that game. Clark gave her teammates two chances in the last 30 seconds to win it. They failed both times. She should have forced Atlanta to double her before giving the ball up the first time. The 2nd time she should have been given the ball back after the inbounds play.

Overall it was like watching a player get dropped into a game from 20 years in the future. Her skill level was so far ahead of everyone on the court. She makes split second decisions on offense that no women’s basketball player can make. It is what makes her so popular with her fans. It is also what creates so much jealousy. It’s a completely unnecessary jealousy. It’s not her fault she possesses a skill level that no one else in the league has.

#24 for the Dream, Brionna Jones, moved at the speed of Kendrick Perkins. I mean I was watching and trying to figure out exactly how she is in the WNBA. It was somewhat amazing to see just how advanced Clark is two games into her 2nd year in comparison to established players. If the other players in this league would just get behind her they’d make a windfall of money doing so. I am not confident the players on other teams in this league are smart enough to do that.

I think the bigger issue is the anger at Clark from these ladies.  Why anyone would defend or feel bad for Reese is beyond me. She and her ilk have been relentless with Caitlin.  Of course it’s their 15 minutes though Angel may be a mainstay with her off the court endorsements

Yup. It's actually fun to watch CC for a bit. If she goes on the bench I change the channel.
