This is  a weird snoozer of a game. Should have put the Denver game on in PrimeTime. Having a sense of humor is essential in the football. It’s like even when an exciting moment kinda happens it sort of gets muted with meh. Like neither of these teams is likely going anywhere this year.

well Pittsburg still has a shot in their division or for a wild card but the Raiders do not

Come on now, the “H” was added, officially, in 1911. Get with the times.

Fuck I can’t stand it when commentators say “so many *enter visiting team here* made the trip” as if there aren’t any steeler fans in areas like Vegas, LA, PHX, ALBQ etc. they’re not all traveling back to Pittsburgh, Mike.

Been to Vegas a lot for work, seemed to me everybody that lived there was from somewhere else.

Staying in a casino for business is kind of a mixed blessing.

I mean, it depends. Some fan bases are everywhere.

Raiders and Steelers both are national franchises. Cowboys might even be international.

Then you've got your regional franchises that cover an area much greater than their own city. The Broncos and 49ers are good examples of those.

Then you've got your local teams, where nobody outside of the city they're in gives a fuck. Like the Jets.

And last, we have one team in its own category, who used to be a local team, but then left town for another city and ended up losing both fanbases. That's the Chargers for ya. Fuck Dean Spanos, man.

This quote aged real well. I wouldn’t be throwing stones were I SP. I mean I think Hackett got fucked by the fact Russell Wilson can’t make the transition to pocket passer because he can’t see the field and can’t read defenses and isn’t really able to scramble the way he used to. But Denver has problems. I bet though the team is done with Russ and if they just kick him to the curb now they can maybe start making progress.

The entire franchise is a mess. I think they quit on both the coach and on Russ. Tons of dysfunction to unravel there.

Well they aren’t likely to get rid of Sean. But they do need to jettison Russ. We have seen enough of a sample size to recognize he sucks now. Plus, the team hates him and they have that culture of losing thing happening. Seahawks fleeced Denver. They were relieved to have gotten rid of RW given that they knew his limitations and he was about to be exposed as shitty. They had to unload him fast.

Raiders -3, 43.5

Steelers saved my Sunday so I could go 5-5 because I accidentally bet them twice.

Trying with small bets to see how bad I get whomped in the NFL. So far not too bad but this was a funky Sunday.

Eagles cover -5 and Rams outright tomorrow eh?

The Rams will eventually suck but they aren't all injured yet.

Tua’s brainpan has a LONG season to go before that becomes a reality.

I picked the dolphins to win it all in the preseason because they are just so fun to watch on O.

They've got some longhorns in the secondary and Connor Williams at Center.

I may be crazy but all the weird pre snap motion and scheme to get guys open is kind of like Sarkdawg.

Lot of passing though need to get Tua to throw it away and not play hero for sure.

I don't gamble at all so this is an honest question.

In the Steelers game what does the +130 mean?

I get the -5 1/2 from the Seattle line but, not the +130, -105, etc.

That's the juice. In this case you want to take Seattle to cover 5.5 points, you need to wager 105 to win 100. Typically the amount of juice 9n spreads is 10 percent.

The Steelers+130 for game is a money line and works similarly, no spread but you bet 100 to win 130 straight up.

If it was Steelers minus 130 you would bet 100 and win 130.

Go Bucs! Will never root for Eagles.

Go also Bengals. I do worry that the FO for the Bengals aren’t taking Burrow’s calf injury seriously. He shouldn’t have played last two games. That’s on the GM etc…if they don’t have a backup like a Minshew who can come in a win a few games while the expensive starter rests. Now it’s sort of do or die time because 0-3 is a hole too big to climb out of. Why they didn’t just let Burrow rest the last two games and roll with a backup I don’t know.
