"no hint where he stands"

I was working on the assumption it was a 100% certainty, but apparently there are a few loons out there that have hope he's gonna veto. You just know he's gonna rig some ceremony Sunday morning in front of a church, or some bullshit like that.

Is Abbot just gonna string everyone along and then sign the bill this weekend? No way he actually doesn't sign it, right?

I have a hard time believing that he’d let that idiot Dan P ruin the momentum that his party has at the moment.  Guess we will see soon enough.

The John McCain move.  That'd be far out, man.  But alas, it ain't gonna happen.

^^ Not my most shining moments this week, but it is what it is. Feel a little guilty, honestly, as it’s been solo flights. l think I’m good. When it’s gone it’s gone. Shouldn’t have had another roll of the dice after 5 years from the last. But it kinda fell into my lap out of the blue, so told myself a little won’t hurt and will remind me of why I don’t.

Well, not a proud moment, but so far I seem ok overall.

Our state works in a very similar way. I think it’s bullshit. It should be that you either sign it, or it’s dead. Talk about passive-aggressive.

so midnight?

He’s just not going to anything I’d bet.  That way he thinks he keeps his hands clean of too much backlash from either side on it.  We got two months to stock up, after that someone dm me with a reliable hookup on edibles and everything around Austin.  lol.

Apparently calls are going out now to the reps whose bills are being vetoed tonight. I am guessing a press release will go out soon with the list he vetoed.

Yep he vetoed it, it’s on the agenda for a special session with 5 other bills.

So I assume they will try to pass the regulation bill now.

I'm surprised Abbott vetoed it but this is a man who is definitely running for President in 2028. Abbott is reading the tea leaves - the Republicans in the Texas Legislature are out of touch with popular opinion on this issue.

Lt Gov Patrick used his typical tactics to get this bill through by bullying and telling House members their bills were DOA in the Senate unless they went along with this. The only bullets he has in his chamber at this point are saying mean things about a really popular Governor.

Dan Patrick’s press conference was hilarious. He was literally like “this is organized crime going on, they set up all the shops close to schools, look it up, they know what they are doing.  It’s not mom and pop shops it’s organized crime. “ 🤣.  He is so out of touch it’s amazing. I’ve talked to five actual mom and pop owners about this in the last couple months.  One just opened like three months ago, the one on Congress in downtown Austin was saying last weekend they planned to turn into a bar but the manager gave me a 30 minute speech about how he didn’t want to switch, I was in my head like ok bro I agree obviously but he would not stop talking lol.

So temporary stay? Vetoed, but on the list for special session?

Special session I think but they know no one wants a ban now so.  Maybe some take their heads out of their ass.  I would bet they go back to approving the origin plan of banning Delta 8, more regulation but who knows.

Yeah, Abbott had a list of suggestions in his letter about the veto. They were things like 21+ to purchase, don’t package to kids, list ingredients, testing, etc. Regulations that I think most people are going to think is reasonable.

We have very similar guidelines here for the real stuff. Those are reasonable, at face value. The devil will be in the details.

Agreed, we need to wait to see the text of what they try to pass to be sure. Shady fuckers
