Actually kind of fun we'll likely get a team we haven't played this season (Bama or Tenn). Even better it'll be the other team's third or second game, respectively.

It took us all the way until our first year in the SEC to end with a better conference record (22-8) than any Texas A&M baseball team has since they joined the SEC a dozen years ago (best: 20-10 in 2016).

Lulz.  Texags thread re: tourney.  OP states that they've got a tough draw.  Next guy...

In a format that includes double byes for the top 8, how does the 14th best team out of 16 not get a tough draw?

I think its been discussed but the RPI turns out to be truly regarded. As of this morning it has Georgia, Auburn, and Vandy ahead of us. I know the unbalanced conference schedule can account for some of the discrepancy, but lets look a little closer.

RPI #1 - Georgia -- fifth in the SEC with an 18-12 conference record. In nonconference played made up schools or at least nobody has heard of them. In conference play, swept by TX, Auburn, and Vandy. Played Arkansas and Alabama but also played almost all the bottom half of the conference - MO, A&M, OU, UK, FL.

RPI #2 - Auburn -- sixth in the SEC at 17-13.

RPI #3 - Vandy -- I actually respect their schedule and record at 39-16 overall, 19-11 conference with no MO or SC

RPI #4 - TX -- 42-11 overall, #1 SEC at 22-8

makes no sense at all

Congrats horns on winning the conference.  Gonna be fun to watch the post season for UT.

Crazy to think MSU was 1-8 in conference and post season possibilities were dead and Lemonis was about to be canned.

A 14-7 finish is impressive.

Now we get Aggy lol. Who is circling the drain of death and deciding if they are going to cut off the head of 1st year head coach. Take care of business and then Auburn , then LSU.

Gotta say if we can beat at least the first two we likely play ourselves into the 2 line somewhere for post season.

Of course what really matters is still who our next hc will be. Because it wont be parker.

Michael Earley might be available.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all

I'm not worried in the least, I think we have #1 overall seed locked up today no matter what else happens. I just wanted to point out how stupid the RPI turns out to be. Not the first example
