Mostly because most conservatives, who we all THOUGHT were super-worried about an authoritarian government casually acting outside the rule of law and sweeping people up without regard for the constitution....but it turns out they were only worried about that in their fever-dreams when they thought that might happen to white people.  So, you'll understand when we doubt the sincerity of any conservative's professed reverence for constitutional rights.

I think that is a bit disingenuous to say its because they are not white. It is because there is argument around whether or not they are even citizens. I understand there are concerns arguments around constitutionality and human rights and all that. I am not trying to open that door. But by saying it's just because they "arent white" is lazy and youre looking to be as dramatic as the other side that screams they are all terrorists or gang members.

1) They’re already deporting citizens. Juvenile citizens. I thought you people were all-in on “WE MUST PROTECT THE CHILDREN!” Add that to the pile of lies.
2) Fun fact: the protections of the Constitution largely apply to non-citizens as well. So, add “CONSTITUTION-LOVING CONSERVATIVE” to that Mt Everest-sized pile of lies.
Oh, and add 3) funny that the “maybe they ain’t even no citizen!” panic is almost exclusively about people who don’t look like, you know, “real Americans.”

It’s all white supremacy nativist panic wrapped up in a not-even-very-refreshed label. Own it.

And, find me a lily-white person, who hasn't come to the defense of non-white people, that's being deported, and maybe I'll consider whether it's about non-whites.

It's CRAZY the difference in reaction between deporting citizens and stealing their ID along the way, and when DT had a collective REEEEEE over facemasks. All the biggest MUH FREEDUMS folks are AWOL on this issue

Every. Fucking. One of them.
It was never about actual Constitutional rights and the protection of liberty AT ALL. It was never anything more than toddler-level oppositional defiance disorder, usually layered with baked-in white supremacy.
“Conservatives” have NO credibility on matters of Constitutional rights and protections. None. Zero.

If there is an argument they aren't citizens, well, that is where due process comes in. You have to provide people the legal opportunity to address these issues before they are deported. You could be deported tomorrow. No notice. No hearing. If this doesn't alarm you, you're an idiot.

This thread started in February, and it is only eleven pages despite its national importance. There is another thread about a black teen stabbing a white teen and it began this month. It is twice as long, and, as far as I know, there has been no mention of terrorists or gang ties.

Hey, all of you "the 2nd Amendment is our last line of defense against an authoritarian government" types.....where are you these days?  This is your fucking moment, this is what you've been waiting for.  How come you aren't all over the internet and airwaves, advising people on the proper weaponry to acquire to protect themselves and their homes from a lawless authoritarian regime?

Wait....what's that?  Your whole schtick presumed that all of the homes being invaded belonged to lily-white "real" Americans, brown people need not apply?  Huh.  I must have missed that footnote.  What font size was it in?

Yeah, no.

Ghost is right. When you take an American citizen into custody and send them to any foreign country, that is NOT deportation. It is much more akin to kidnapping.

I concede the point, though trafficking also belongs n the conversation.

Kinda sounds like they're getting practice on the easiest to prey upon people.  Gonna have to be trained up for when they make the switch to deporting white American citizens who didn't grovel before the Orange Fuhrer.

For the regime, citizenship is merely a formality with which they treat with as much respect as a roll of paper towels. The Germans, in one fell swoop, struck down citizenship for anyone identified as a Jew; this is from a similar playbook. It is institutional power saying you are not one of us and are not afforded anything except what we say--wielding the law as it suits them. Since judges are being intimidated (and the RW media supporting that to propagandize and normalize that type of intimidation) it should be alarming in more ways than just this one.

Perhaps you are seeing this as well--instead of taking a hard stop this line shall not be crossed ; those that dissect it with the surgeon like precision they apply to gun control, state's rights vs slavery, etc in order to either shore up their support for the regime and cast away any troublesome doubts/fears or those that are true supporters who will wholly believe this is how America should be. Does it appear hypocritical? Absolutely but that's no surprise.

USA Today with some great reporting:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/04/25/trump-venezuelan-gang-deportations-alien-enemies-act/83253074007/

Trump administration officials directed law enforcement nationwide to pursue suspected gang members into their homes, in some cases without any sort of warrant, according to a copy of the directive exclusively obtained by USA TODAY.

...

The memo was provided to USA TODAY by the open government group, Property of the People, which they obtained through a records request.

Legal experts examined the document that reveals the following:

  • It provides directives to front-line officers apprehending suspected Tren de Aragua members, suggesting officers obtain a warrant of apprehension and removal “as much as practicable.” Those administrative warrants are signed by immigration officers, not judges like criminal warrants.
  • Due to a “dynamic nature of law enforcement procedures” officers are free to "apprehend aliens" based on their “reasonable belief” they meet the definitions, the memo states.
  • It purports to grant authority for police to enter a suspected "Alien Enemy’s residence" if “circumstances render it impracticable” to first obtain a warrant.

The machinery of fascism always, and must, include corporatist allies.  The Regime necessarily includes those elements.

Remember all the "Free Speech ABSOLUTISTS!" we had around here pre-election?  Notice how not a single one of them has any issue with the Regime taking dead aim and anyone and everyone who dares utter a peep contrary to the desires of the Regime?  Huh.  Guess their internet is broken or something.

Blah blah blah -- SHUT UP, SUBJECT!  YOUR INSOLENCE AGAINST THE REGIME WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Hey white folks....when they dispense with things like "basic rights," "justice," and "common sense," the dumbest fucking thing that you could think is that they'll STOP at black and brown people, and not apply the new order to you as well.

Ironclad rule here: while the Gestapo may START by coming for group X, or group Y....they ALWAYS end up coming for fucking EVERYONE.

I've been much happier avoiding CR, is Anal still both-siding everything in the universe?

On second thought, nm I'm sure he/she is.

Interestingly enough, he's pivoted from that.  Ain't no "both sides" anymore.  Like all other self-declared libertarians and even libertarian-adjacent folks, he has a really hard time finding much at all to criticize about the Trump Regime.  A few things on the margin here and there, but sweeping immigration raids, disregard for basic constitutional principles, massive tariffs and trade wars....well, golly gee, those are just swell.  You know, all the things that libertarian-types love nowadays.

Eliminating agencies and bureaucrats is worth the squeeze to these nihilists. Then, selectively bothsiding who’s responsible for all the bullshit.

American “intellectuals” glamorizing Russian politics or equating the US to Russia has been a bothsides tradition for over a century.

Ozturk had her move held up for a week. The 1st is tomorrow, but

A federal appeals court has paused a judge's order to bring a Turkish Tufts University student from a Louisiana immigration detention center back to New England this week so it can consider an emergency motion filed by the government.

The U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, based in New York, ruled Monday that a three-judge panel would hear arguments on May 6 in the case of Rumeysa Ozturk. She's been detained for five weeks as of Tuesday.

If I had to pick two countries where trump would choose to locate his concentration camps, Libya and Rwanda would certainly make the final cut, since those two places certainly don't have a history of human rights violations.

I voted for Trump

And it cost me immensely.

16 years ago, I met a boy. We were in high school. He became my first love, my first boyfriend and the father of my first child.

He was many things but at the top of the list was a superb father. That man would go to the ends of the earth to look for the last pencil if that’s what I told him our daughter needed.

He wasn’t JUST the father of my child. He became my bestest friend. He was my family.

His biggest fault?

He wasn’t legal.

👉🏼 Despite being here before he could even walk……..
👉🏼 Despite not having any criminal record……
👉🏼 Despite making multiple trips to DC (as an adult) to acquire the paperwork to be here the “right way”; papers his mother should have taken the responsibility to get for him when he was just a child…….
👉🏼 Despite hiring immigration lawyers……

The father of my oldest child is being extradited.

My oldest child is loosing her father because of Trumps immigration policies.

Do I feel like I made a mistake? Possibly. Ask me again when I’m not so emotional.

What I do know is it has cost me (and my oldest daughter) GREATLY. I’m in a very dark place right now, reeling from this.

I didn’t post this for sympathy. But yall need to know it’s not just “bad” people with a criminal record being deported. These people are fathers……providers. Head of the household. The enemy wins by destroying the family unit with this policy.

And this is where it’s going to get controversial…..

The past few days as I’ve pleaded, begged, absolutely bawled my eyes out to the Lord to reveal to me the benefit in this, He told me one thing.

“My Hand isn’t in this daughter. When the Heavenlies are at war, there are going to be casualties. This is that.”

And here is where imma give y’all something to argue about.

I don’t believe this immigration policy is in the Will of the Lord. I don’t believe in my heart that this is something Jesus would celebrate were He here.

Now you may wanna say “He is the exception and not the norm Sara.”

But he was everything to me and my daughter. And even though him and I together have overcome generational and family traumas so our child didn’t have to walk through them, the enemy has still won here. That’s not something I’m ever going to celebrate. EVER.

So if you want to come post a comment about how the policies are necessary or “Biblical,” don’t do it on my wall. Seriously…..DONT.

And if you’ve made it this far, please pray for us because my daughter and I are beside ourselves with grief. It’s hard to go through the days 😭

He's not. They are just sweeping up whatever they can. It doesn't matter if they are good people who pay their taxes and contribute to society. They are all gang members and hence don't deserve to be treated like "the people" that are mentioned so many times in the Bill of Rights.
