Not strictly transfer related, but significant roster news

  • This kind of shit from our fanbase wears me out. Sark took over a lost program and since we've been to 2 semis and should have been in the playoffs this year but for a committee that doesn't understan

I’m at the point where there are about 12 guys I’d be legitimately bothered to see leave and everyone else is imminently replaceable.

One of Hawkins/Brown/Baugh

Clark

Simon

Cooper

That would be fine by me after watching this game. Especially if you got the interior fixed.

I take back everything nice I said about the wr room. By the gods that’s rough. Lockett at least won a one on one. Eh eh that’s a rarity.

Does the portal open at 12 AM EST on Friday, January 2nd?

I'm excited for portal kombat.

I like our young DB’s and I hope we keep Mack. These guys are tall, fast and physical and if they are not coached by an elderly retard next year I think they are going to be great.

Obviously need to figure out linebacker and the interior of the line but I feel more optimistic today than I did yesterday about what we are bringing back.

Wasn’t Phillips the one who we wanted at safety originally and he wouldn’t come to Texas because he wanted corner? Because he seemed very good in coverage most of the time.

Liked seeing Lockett's TD catch. He might actually be a guy who can win 50/50 balls for once

Agreed. I try not to be the ‘overreact to one game’ guy but I would feel semi comfortable with 1 badass RB from the portal + Cooper + Clark if it meant we could use the funds elsewhere.

I don’t know how you don’t portal if you are Simon after how this bowl season/practices played out (getting passed by Terry).

I’m sure Clark is going to have coaches crawling in his DM’s too the next week.

Maybe, but there wasn't much separation. Perfect throw by arch after he got hit in the face on the earlier play.

Now we wait...hoping the guys who played well today don't get insanely big offers from rivals and that young guys who got few snaps today don't bolt. It's the new "spring game."

Mccutcheon can get in the mother fucker. Dude dropped everything thrown at him

He is pretty slight of build too. Of course so was Worthy.

He made a great, contested catch for a TD. Not much else you can ask of him on that play. Wingo couldn’t do that earlier in the game.

I missed the Simon stuff, did something happen? The dude looked like the next man up.

Lockett has more contested catches in his career than Ryan Wingo.

Mack, Phillips, Littleton and Roberson are all fantastic at corner. I would be all for keeping those guys plus Black and coaching them up in a real scheme. We probably need a veteran safety unless they think one of those guys can play safety. But for me corner is about retention not the portal.

Simon not getting a snap surprised me. How many appearances did he end up with? I am wondering if they were trying to preserve his redshirt, but I’m too lazy to look that up.

Bowl games don’t count toward redshirt eligibility.

He got passed up by a true freshman who just started playing RB full time halfway through the year. That’s not a good sign.

That guy only got one more carry than Simon.

I’m legit liking Clark at RB. Hopefully he is set to get a lot of workload next year.

The chasm between hin and Wisner is like they're not even in the same stratosphere talent-wise. Sark really fucked up starting Wisner instead of Clark. Clark absolutely balled out today.

And Livingstone and Wingo are refusing to catch passes thrown right at their hands. Overhaul the entire WR unit through the portal.

It's beyond abysmal, especially for Wingo, who has 9 dropped passes on the season afrer the game today. He had 7 last season. Burnt Orange Nation says us and aggy are going after Cam Coleman (I have no idea how credible BON is), so that might help. He can't be any worse than Wingo.

How awful are Lockett and ffre ch if mccutcheon is ahead of them?

Well we now know Lockett can catch TD's after his 30 yarder from Manning.

You think Roberson is a fantastic corner? He made a good play today, but I feel like I usually see him fucking up several times per game and getting screamed at on the sideline.

Agree on the other guys. Phillips is a dog

He's a penalty machine, that's the issue.

That’s special teams

A month or so ago I said that Arch bleeds burnt orange, So proud of him tonight

Not exclusively. He had huge penalties on defense multiple times this year. Vandy and Arkansas jump to mind.

I thought Roberson looked good in coverage today and his tackling was a plus. I’m fine with him in the rotation at corner. I’m also fine with him sitting out on kick and punt returns.

He holds a lot in man coverage just like he does in special teams.

Roberson knocked himself out putting the business on their huge TE. At least he not scared. You could see his arms go limp for a couple seconds on the replay.

If he can hold, move him to WR.

Dude the biggest no call of the night was him ear holing that TE for no targeting.
