Tennessee is the team on a nosedive. They are 36-10 after losing the first game of a DH at Knoxville to Auburn.

Nine of those losses are in SEC games and the second game is in extra inning tied at 4-4, in the tenth.

They have gone south after run ruling Aggy in the first game of that series back when they were the #1 ranked team.

Players and coaches were not prepared for how much Arkansas hates us and we never matched their intensity.  Lessoned learned now let's finish off the season.

Talked about this with an Aggie at a pool party today. Family full of Horns and he said look, those fuckers HATE Texas and he said no way Schloss and co was ready for it.  Seems like every Texas coach has to learn this the hard way.

Didn't they no hit aggy that game too?

Yea I’m sure nobody told them about this and got totally blindsided.

You’d think his time at aggy would translate as the hog hate for us is similar.

they seem to be an offensive juggernaut at home and more mortal on the road.  They can easily go back to losing series in stick red and Knoxville.

We just need to get back to normal and win 2 or 3 this weekend, though Florida has improved recently.  The shallowness of our team finally caught up with us. Hope one full off season can really eliminate that issue going forward, because injuries happen. Especially arm injuries to pitchers.

He actually thinks pig hates Texas more than anyone.  I agree.

its one thing to know it in your head, it’s another thing  to experience it. Yeah this team very well coulda been blind sided by it.

It pisses me off that this is a problem with one of our teams again.

Arkansas goes to Baton Rouge next week, be interesting how they do after this series.

I predict they have the same let down we just experienced.

in any case, go home and regroup and beat the shit out of Lamar and the gators

Texas didn't exactly light up Arkansas in football this past season in Fayetteville, but the talent level was so great that Texas was able to win.

I think that in a couple of years Schloss will have a much deeper and even more talented roster than he has now. This team has some real holes with the injuries.

We were blown out before we even had a chance to throw a punch on Thursday and Friday.

We were outclassed in every sense of the word and I am highly skeptical a motivational pep talk earlier in the week or a hype video would have changed the outcome.

It’s just really hard to win on the road in this league. Time to move on. We allowed ourselves a mulligan with how we played for 21 games up to this point.

Big time matchups all won by the home team. If you look at the heavyweight matchups this year, you have a huge advantage playing at home. Several of those were sweeps.

I don’t know why you’re so hell bent on disregarding rivalry hatred. It’s really hard to win on the road especially when it’s Arkansas and you’re Texas. Maybe look at Arkansas at home vs aggy. Totally different outcome. It’s not just random like “oh well you win some and lose some I guess”. We got skull fucked all weekend by a team that wanted to skull fuck us. Their first two pitchers best games of the season were against Texas and that’s not by chance, and yes they’re both great pitchers but that doesn’t disregard the fact that they both pitched the best game of the season back to back days against their hated rival. It matters.

Despite this shit show, we will still wake up the #1 team on Monday. Let’s just get back on track.

In the rankings? Probably not. And that’s okay honestly. Get the #1 target off the back.

Probably still the #1 overall seed in the tournament projections though.

I’m not sure who would jump us. None of the contenders are showing up. LSU and Clemson both lost. We are the only top 5 team with single digit losses and we are still 2 games up in the best conference in the country. Even reactionary responses to this weekend should still have us 1. Unless FSU is going to jump 5 spots to #1 but I doubt it

This. But the challenge is that UT has moved on. Current players and most fans don’t view this as a major rivalry. Pig hates us with the fury of 1000 suns.

The 30 year separation has made us hate them less and them hate us more. They have 30 years of animosity built up that the occasional football game could not depressurize.  Maybe that normalizes a bit for each fanbase with the new frequency of competition.

Aggy won game 1. Game 2 is about to start and game 3 is tomorrow so there’s been no sweep yet. And they won game 1, 3-1 and by aggy standards from last weekend that’s not really a win because it was soooooo close.
