Just got back from Fathers Day brunch.  Rain delay I’m assuming?

Yep. Should be resuming around 5 pm eastern.

I’m not sure it’ll be that soon. I’m northwest of Oakmont and it’s still pouring here. The storm is moving kind of weird for the area where the overall storm is moving west to east but it’s spreading out east to west. 5 minutes before it started rainy here there was a less that 10% chance of rain. The radar is pretty unreliable right now.

What time do they need to restart, in order to finish today?

Sam and Adam are on 8 tree y, so 11 holes to play, sunset is about 8:50.  The longer the delay, the more likely they have to let player warm up, it's a conundrum. I'd say they have to start by 5:45, and it could play even slower, though Cantlay missed the cut, so that helps (Adam can play slow, but it's only his last chance an the USOpen)

Announcer said they could absorb about a 2 hour delay. They’ll have been delayed for about 1:45 if they restart as expected.

Depends on how much they wind up dicking around out there. Not sure what the course is going to be like after this.

That’s a blink for everyone. No one wants to step up.

Is the winner gonna be under par at this point?

Wasn’t entirely serious with that question, but seeming more and more like gritting out even par would be a pretty good place to be.

Oh for sure. I don't think anyone finishes under par at this rate. This course is a damn swamp right now.

Credit for Spaun hanging around after that brutal front 9. Still very much in this.

Disagree.

that statement applies to Adam Scott for me

Maybe I should add - play this well while all of current golf royalty shits the bed.

I just don't see him as a multiple-major winner.

He's a great player - don't get me wrong.
