It’s gonna be so awkward when Scottie hoists the claret jug after his comments the other day.

“This is awesome! …Or is it?”

The good news is you only need 1 to slip.  The bad news is there are only 5 players at +1 or even still on the course.

Yep. Need one of Wyndham Clark, Charley Conners or Riki Kawamoto to drop a shot. Clark and Conners are on 18. Kawamoto is on 14.

Also, do not need Axelson (thru 14) or Suh (thru 13) to move up from +2.

I don't think it's gonna happen. But it would be cool. It's a salary cap deal where you can pick up to 10 golfers if you can stretch the money. I actually was able to snag 10 guys and all but Fox has made the weekend.

The pool I'm in, you pick 2 guys from the top 10 in the official world golf rankings, 2 from 11-20, and 3 from 21+.  Total prize money won wins it.  My picks- Scottie, Aberg ; Griffin, Hovland ; Fitzpatrick, Rahm, Day.  All but Griffin playing the weekend.  Edit, Day looks like he'll miss too.  Both miss by a shot.

Clark birdied 18 so he didn't help. Conners parred so he didn't either. Still have Schmid who is on 17 and Kawamoto who is on 15. The good news is that probably isn't anybody at +2 or higher who is likely to get to +1.

This is my team. Total prize money wins a healthy pot (28 entries at $100 each). We also have a season-long comp with all four majors. Number in parentheses is cost to "buy" player. You have 30 units to spend.) I really need Rickie Fowler or Harry Hall or Marc Leishman to go nuts this weekend. I don't think anybody picked any of those guys. And if I want to win this, Fitzpatrick will need to beat Scottie.

Was anybody watching the group coverage of Scottie's group when there was a burst of rain that started up while they were teeing off on a hole, and Lowry shanked his drive into the rough? Lowry immediately started bitching about the rain and dropped about 4 F bombs in a row which were a lot more audible than smiley's gaff. I hope we didnt lose too many delicate souls.

Brutal.  Lowry gets a 2 stroke penalty because apparently his ball moved ever so slightly on this practice swing.  I can't see it.

It was clear on the close-up replay. Whether that infraction warrants a 2 stroke penalty is a different discussion

It definitely moved when his swing hit that twig that was also touching the ball.

Clear as day.

Other than Hatton, hard to imagine 2 dudes that can run hotter than those two

Definitely Rahm...

Friday brought frustration for the Spanish star. During his second round, Rahm lost his cool after a fan whistled during his backswing, causing a mishit that sent his ball into the long grass. The moment triggered an immediate reaction.

Turning to the gallery, Rahm said sarcastically, “Really? Whistling? Great timing. Right on my backstroke. Really clever, whoever that was.” He followed it up with a double club kick clearly furious at the interruption.
