My best guess at this point that Team USA will need 7 or more points, that the Euros will take no less than 4 points tomorrow.

They might want to fly Crenshaw over for a Brookline'sque motivational speech.

If they had "only" needed 7 points, maybe they could have pulled it out.
Alas .....

I don't know about you guys, but I CANNOT wait to pay to watch Tiger and Phil trade awkward jokes and half-smiles over 18 holes of golf, while Phil tries to rekindle the magic by hitting a handful of "Phil shots" from shitty lies, and Tiger ultimately grinds out an unspectacular victory.

Tiger was a good pick.  Phil wasn't.  Combo of poor form and the stress of the Fed Ex Cup finals really sucked it out of everyone.  What a stupid thing to have it the week after.

Is it not still pay-per-view, or did the backlash get them to change it? Shows how much I've been paying attention.

I have no clue, didn't know it was pay per view

Apparently still pay-per-view

Their pay-per-view match is set to air across the Turner networks and will likely feature multiple side wagers to keep the audience tuned in regardless of the overall score.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas likes Woods more now than ever against Mickelson. The money line for Woods has moved to -220 at the Las Vegas Westgate SuperBook. That means bettors would have to wager $220 on Woods to net $100. Mickelson is now a +180 underdog, meaning a $100 wager on Lefty would make a $180 profit.

Tiger and Phil playing for 10 mil in a month, they don't give 2 shits about this

psst - they don't give shits about that either (as they will make more than that in endorsements around the event)

Watching this debacle gives me no interest in watching tiger and phil fucking around on a golf course. I'm out on that steaming pile of shit.

I can't wait until they use that johnny sharp ag math to tell us how successful it turned out. I would not pay $10 for it. I would pay $100 for a "Tiger all-access" at the Masters or British though.

We had 5 clear pairings (DJ-Koepka, Spieth-Reed, Watson-Simpson, Fowler-Thomas, Woods-DeChambeau) and Furyk played 1 of them.  Historically awful captain who allowed the players to tell him what to do.

The team unity we had supposedly discovered was also revealed to be a complete sham.

There are many reasons for USA's loss, but the common theme with the Ryder Cup over the last 20+ years is that, IMO, the US players are overrated using the World Golf Rankings.  The European Tour is very, very good.  Check out the wiki for the ranking of the tournaments with the most points.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Official_World_Golf_Ranking

They consist of the majors (as it should be) and then the top US tournaments all rank very highly.  For sponsor and TV money the PGA Tour touts itself as by far and away the best tour in the world.  It probably is the best tour, but I don't think it blows away the European Tour.  The European players are great.  IMO, that is the main reason they usually kick our ass.  My view might be different if our losses were fewer and we didn't get blown out as much.  After 1983, our record is 6-11 and we've blown them out (i.e. won by 5 or more points) twice-08 and 16, and they have blown us out 5 times-85, 04, 06, 14, and 18.  They're just damn good overall.

truth.  nothing to do with drama, team chemistry, assholes, wives, etc bull shit.  we just suck compared to the euros.

and fuck patrick reed.  he's a whiny bitch looking to find someone, something else to blame for his poor showing.  oh no, jordan wouldn't play with me cause i'm a dick so i carried a grudge all weekend and fucked up my play.

Apparently Dustin Johnson and Brooks were trying to fight in the Europe Team room on Sunday night... what a disaster of a team. Showing more fight between each other than on the course

Also, with 1-2 exceptions, the Euros aren't a bunch of prima donnas and actually see the Ryder and all the tradition and team effort as maybe the #1 thing in golf.  Us?  We're always like the beer league softball team - a few bombs but most of the time can't really play the game the way it was intended.
