Georgia's defense has finally leveled up after battling the entire season.

I still think a team with a running QB and good RB can give them problems. Even though they were better last year and got dominated by Notre Dame, I think they win it all this year.

Maybe don't lose the game? All of these games should matter to some degree, win or lose. This is why these CCG's need to be figured out and how much importance they have to the final seedings. If Bama is in no matter what, why not just forfeit and rest up for 2 weeks heading into the playoffs. They don't even belong on the same field as Georgia.

It matters for BYU now because they are likely out.   I never understood some of the talking heads suggesting it won’t matter for Bama though.   How can they justify a three loss Bama team going in and Texas not if they get absolutely destroyed by UGA today.

So is Florida.... Dammit

We are a much better team than we were game 1 of conference play. Hope this helps people who keep harping on this point.

'bama defense still playing hard, for now.  Bobo playing with his food a little here.  I expect better pass plays.  Still looks like at least 14-0 at half. The only question for me is will Georgia have its usual dominant 4th quarter or will Kirby take his foot off the gas.  If Georgia dominates Q4, we could be looking at a 4 TD victory.

they lost to a offenseless OU at home..

Yep. If they lose today, both of us would have lost to Georgia. Ours was on the road, theirs in a neutral site. Both of us lost to a shitty Florida school. They lost to OU at home, we handled them with ease in Dallas. Our loss on the road to Ohio St, the only team to even play them close. Ohio St would run OU off the field.

Alabama can claim the same thing to diminish their FSU loss, though.

If you can drop BYU out for playing in a conference game, then you can drop Bama for the same thing.

Is this the end of CCGs?

ACC Champ is possibly out.

B12 CoChamp is probably out.

SEC runner up is possibly be out.

JMU or Tulane possibly in.

ND possibly in.

Network Chaos.

They did that to Georgia in 2023. And they were undefeated going into that game, too. Coming off back to back national titles. This Bama team lost to shit FSU by 14 and a pretty weak OU team at home that we handled up on. Leaving Bama out with 3 losses wouldn't be some travesty. This Bama team isn't the Bama of the past with Saban.

And got bailed out by the SEC Refs against Auburn last week.

But on Tuesday the committee chair made a comment about that game and treated the win by Bama like it was a number one vs number two matchup. .

We have a data point to show they are shit at the wrong time of year. Texas showed improvement, Bama has gotten worse as the season went on. Big fucking difference.

Agreed. Erase both those games and let’s match up our resumes after today.

Yeah, but the CFP isn't going with "the best 12 teams right now" or we would be going.

If the secondary would have played like they did against A&M, we would have beaten Georgia.

If we would’ve played half the game on offense that we did against aggy last week against Florida back in September we woudl’ve won that game.  Hell we might have even beat Ohio State for crying out loud.

Agreed. Not saying we should take their spot since we also have 3 losses but 3 losses is 3 losses. If you say losing this game doesn't matter at all, then I'm not sure the importance of this game other than teams who absolutely need it to get in like Duke and BYU. But the committee just punished BYU for losing their game, no way are they in.

I feel they need to just get this to 24 teams do away with this CCG weekend. Playoffs begin this week. 24 teams with no CCG weekend is really no different than 12 teams with this CCG non playoff week. This completely takes the committee out the mix. Every single deserving team gets in and slug it out in a real playoffs like the FCS has been doing forever.

CCG are stupid now. Conferences with no divisions and stuff

It should be 4 4 team divisions with a mini "playoff" as the last 2 games for the top 4 teams one from each division then everyone else plays in order. To decide the cross division last 2 games.

Texas got destroyed by UGA worse?

And there's still that inconvenient Bama road win over UGA that's probably the best win of the season right now.

Oh I know. But people here and elsewhere are using the loss to Florida to say we aren’t better than a lot of CFP teams and it’s idiotic at this point.

Regarding Bama playing an “extra” game, they should not get credit folder playing an FCS/1-AA, especially one second to last in their conference. I would venture to say that their intrasquad scrimmages are more taxing on them than playing E. Illinois the week before Auburn.

Likewise, UGa is getting credit for beating FCS/1-AA Austin Peay. That is a big part of the formula that built this whole invincible SECSECSEC mystique anyway.

What if the blowout is also a shutout?

like about 28-0.  That should be good to require a conversation at the committee level.

Well that and a stretch where they won something like 12 out of 13 national championships.

The fact that we aren’t even being mentioned as a possible longshot should be enough for any of y’all hanging on to hope to give it up.

The committee is not gonna just invite itself to more controversy to put us in.

It does because a team is playing an unnecessary game while other teams sit at home. You are effectively punishing a team for making the championship game.

i mean a loss against hawaii still counts. im sure BYU isn't going to get a free pass vs Tech for their loss here.

Not really. It was a 4 point game in the 4th quarter until Georgia went all out on some great 4th downs and a onside kick. BYU was never in the game

Which, why not? It’s new idiots every year for some idiotic reason. Go balls out.
