Dumb question, have the Longhorns and Sooners ever played twice in one season?

Yes way back like 100 years ago... we have won twice in the same year before so we should certainly do it again.

last time we played twice was 1903

Someone help me out here. How do we control our own destiny when we lost to West Virginia? We both will have two conference loses with our second one being to them. Wouldn’t that mean that they own the tiebreaker?

Texas and WV have 2 conference losses and Oklahoma has 1. WV and OU play each other. If we take care of business next week we are in because if WV loses next week they will have 3 conference losses. If WV beats OU, the three teams will have 2 conference losses and leaves OU out because they will have lost to both Texas and WV.

It's not about them. It is the fact they play OU next week. Who has one conference loss from us. We benefit from either result. OU wins and then WV falls behind us with 3 conference losses. If OU loses, then they have 2 conference losses and we own head to head against them.

Actually if WV wins we have a 3 way tie of 2 loss teams.  While WV did beat both OU and UT would that actually remove them from the UT/OU math?

I believe so. It isn't like 2008 where all 3 teams were 1-1 against each other. WV in that scenario would have beat both Texas and OU. So they are not apart of the tiebreaker. It's between us and OU. And we have the edge with head to head.
