Here's the thing....is that outcome a certainty? Of course not. Is it even "more likely than not?" Probably not. But....do we live in a world where there is a non-zero chance of it? Yes. Yes we do. "Bad outcomes" are a matrix involving degree of certainty and degree of harm. For example, a 10% chance of bruising your knee this week isn't a bad outcome. A 1% chance of a nuclear detonation in your city this week is a fucking horrific outcome. "Put to death for speech against the regime" at a .0000000000000000000000000000001% chance (in other words, what it has historically been in our lifetime) is fine. "Put to death for speech against the regime" at even a .01% chance is a really, really, really fucking bad outcome. We are in such fantastically deep trouble, and the incurable part of is is that our population is 40% in favor of it and 40% indifferent to it. That leaves maybe 20% of us who have an inkling of how deadly the fire we're playing with really is.

Garbage and Starcrawler last night was on point. If anyone’s interested, they have a show at ACL Live tonight. Starcrawler were decked out in their signature hot pink and black. Wrapped up their set with “bet my brains”. Guitarist always closes the song by walking through the audience. Great and short performance. They always get the crowd juiced up. Shirley had a lot to say. Some kind words about her father, some CR, some thoughts on the music industry, and an audience participation happy birthday sing along to their tour manager complete with the non-standard hip hip hooray at the end. Very personable and made a connection with the audience. Wearing that kilt, she had everyone’s attention.

Prospect published a super interesting article about agricultural workers and an odd, hypocritical Federal Rules change just proposed by the Administration. The administration claims there's a crisis in farm labor and wants to bring in more immigrant farm workers by cutting wages paid to legal immigrant farm workers, and allow the ag industry to deduct the cost of housing from paychecks (just like human traffickers do) It's about using immigration to increase the profits of agribusiness. https://prospect.org/politics/trump-labor-department-immigration-ICE-food-crisis/ the tldr -

“weighed in on the political debate….” Oh get fucked. There is no political debate. One side wants him not there because of the color of his skin and the other side doesn’t give a shit because they aren’t racist fucking monsters. There’s your fucking “debate”.

The stop is dead. It is covered. He can throw it, but 90% here would bitch he threw a 5 yard route on 3rd and 8 even if you think the ball could there before the DB, which is highly arguable. You 100% correct in the fact this is a really poor play design, which is a way bigger issue. There needs to be someone on some type of crossing route running to space to give the offense a chance to get a first down. I really dont understand the idea of 3 verts with stops attached in that situation given the pass blocking issues. I am not sure all that matters, because the DL has beaten Stroh before Arch's gets his back foot down. Arch is going to have to throw immediately at the top of his drop and still going to take shot. This play was dead the moment it was called.

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?

A real MAGA movement would be to eliminate the middle men in major industries such as healthcare, real estate, autos, student loans, etc. that siphon money for "services" that could be eliminated or replaced. -

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

Fire would be hyping his teammates up after big plays and lighting a fire under their asses when they’re getting their asses kicked. Arch laid it on the line against Florida, but a big part of being a leader is holding your people accountable. The coaches are responsible for that too, but it hits different when it’s peer to peer. -
from the circle to 6 is the very last segment between round rock and i-20 (on 35E) 35E from 20 to US67 has to be rebuilt i've never seen any plans to to do 35W from the split to burleson but it's still the original 2 lanes and will have to be done someday

Charlie Kirk Assassinated [Shooter in custody]
Brian Fantana replied to Laguna's topic in Daily Texan
Rationality is relative and entirely dependent on context. An action that is seen as crazy and/or awful by most of us is still rational to the person that took the action if they arrived at that point via a line of reasoning, even if that reasoning is deeply flawed/incorrect. My point was that John Hinckley arrived at the conclusion that he must shoot and kill Ronald Reagan irrationally because his mind was completely disconnected from reality and he was unable to follow a line of reasoning to any conclusion. Until it's proven otherwise, and it's very unlikely that it will, it seems that Tyler Robinson likely arrived at the conclusion that he must shoot and kill Charlie Kirk rationally, even though his line of reasoning is, of course, wrong and bad. There are plenty of examples of this kind of phenomenon out there, and it extends beyond the individual. Look at how countries like Iran or North Korea behave in certain instances. To outsiders, some of the things they do seem completely out of pocket, but from their perspective what they are doing is completely rational.
