  1. Past hour
  2. Ideally Nagy will blame all their problems on Venables and eventually get him fired in a season or 2. Then after another couple years of mediocrity, it will be his turn to get fired. Then OU will be at rock bottom and won't have enough money to recover.
  3. Have you considered the possibility that you might be an America-hating wussy communist, whose weakness is harming our cultural strength and purity? Or....maybe we're all just getting older, and can't handle all the shit that never even used to phase us. Goddammit.
  4. Cry? No....but 17 year old me was wanting to shoot Brian Polydixon as he scored like 10 touchdowns against us in 1997.....
  5. Appears that the federal govt has interns from 4chan in charge of their social media channels. Personally I would be embarrassed if my employer's posts had this vibe. Then again maybe that part of the goal, to embarrass professionals in govt to get them to quit. It's only a matter of time before one of them drop the n-word in a post. It will be described a regrettable error but zero apologies will be given.
  6. The Llama family afopted KOTH from the beginning. Later on when it started running in syndication or whatever and aired nightly at 10:30, we would always wstch it before turning in. I usually fell off to sleep before it ended, which helps reruns seem fresh. Maybe it’s my dementia kicking in. We have great reverence for Mike Judge and all who contributed to the once and present KOTH, to “Beaver and Buffcoat,” to Idiocracy and all other Judge whatnot and productions. I’m quite sure adults now aged 50-75 who were raised in the South knew individuals who resembled in many respects Hank, Mr. Thompson, LuAnn, Peggy, Bobby and the other cast members. Mr. Thompson: (gives his order) Butthead: . . . Uhhhhhhh Mr. Thompson: “Ah didn’t order ‘UHHH.”
  7. Unfortunately “eating the tariffs” was an all time brain dead move in a post fact feels and vibes society It completely ceded the narrative to Trump who regardless of the details can now say, “they ate them and now they are not…it’s not me and my policies hurting you it is XYZ retailer” Every tariff rambling and action should have been followed with immediate price pain on the shelves of America’s retailers.
  8. Guess we better hope no students ever quote Shakespeare's Henry VI about "let's kill all the lawyers." Scratch that. In this era, AI finding that post would result in the student getting a college scholarship and an immediate job offer from law enforcement.
  9. Fucking legend.
  10. Are you sure about that? Maybe she just needs to shave ...
  11. dumbasses don't know what to do. keep digging that hole deeper you idiots.
  12. Yeah Key West is the only other place I have ever considered living outside of Texas....Yes I have been all over the pacific northwest...its fun to visit......but I don't think I'm built for Montana Wyoming winters.
  13. lol Kane missed that pk on purpose
  14. I guess this is the best active thread for this. Using AI to monitor kids’ online text/speech is being abused. Of course, I understand concern on the other side of the argument, but the big, bolded last sentence quoted below (there's more at the link) is a broad societal problem, imo. Normalizing Big Brother shit. Let's train the next generation to "watch what they say." Yeah, that's not an original sentiment or statement, but I don't get why we're putting up with all of this stuff, as it's increasingly being spread throughout all aspects of our lives and disturbs my libertarian nature, in the free speech and civil liberties sense. It's not really an AI issue per se, except for how the tech can be abused, which I guess you could argue is the whole AI problem thing. https://apnews.com/article/ai-school-surveillance-gaggle-goguardian-bark-8c531cde8f9aee0b1ef06cfce109724a Lesley Mathis knows what her daughter said was wrong. But she never expected the 13-year-old girl would get arrested for it. The teenage girl made an offensive joke while chatting online with her classmates, triggering the school’s surveillance software. Before the morning was even over, the Tennessee eighth grader was under arrest. She was interrogated, strip-searched and spent the night in a jail cell, her mother says. Earlier in the day, her friends had teased the teen about her tanned complexion and called her “Mexican,” even though she’s not. When a friend asked what she was planning for Thursday, she wrote: “on Thursday we kill all the Mexico’s.” Mathis said the comments were “wrong” and “stupid,” but context showed they were not a threat. “It made me feel like, is this the America we live in?” Mathis said of her daughter’s arrest. “And it was this stupid, stupid technology that is just going through picking up random words and not looking at context.” Surveillance systems in American schools increasingly monitor everything students write on school accounts and devices. Thousands of school districts across the country use software like Gaggle and Lightspeed Alert to track kids’ online activities, looking for signs they might hurt themselves or others. With the help of artificial intelligence, technology can dip into online conversations and immediately notify both school officials and law enforcement. Educators say the technology has saved lives. But critics warn it can criminalize children for careless words. “It has routinized law enforcement access and presence in students’ lives, including in their home,” said Elizabeth Laird, a director at the Center for Democracy and Technology.
  15. Your mom was Bill Cosby‘s plug
  16. I wonder how big it's going to be because Serrano's was small, at least the seating area was. The new place will be enclosed from what I've read. Catherdrale has also closed, so maybe they're combining the spots.
  17. I get where you're coming from. I often feel the same way about you as a poster on this site.
  18. "Life like hair and beard." Shit, half of the Surly posters would KILL for that. Also, reminds me of the sex toy etc. catalog we got at our house in college. Someone had ordered a blow up sex doll as a party prop (yes, we were degenerates). Once you place such an order, you get on the mailing list, catalogs show up. We get one, and paging through it, get to the section on artificial vaginas/pocket pussy devices. And one of them has a graphic on the ad that looks like this.... Except instead of "new and improved," it says "NOW FEATURING REAL HAIR!" First....dear lord, the 80s were a dark time in so many ways. Second...I couldn't stop laughing at the idea of some board meeting of the Acme Sex Toy company, where they were gathered around the board table, and a guy was griping "sales of our pocket vaginas are flat. We just aren't moving product, there's no enthusiasm or buzz for it." Then Jenkins, the new marketing guy, pops up in his chair -- "I'VE GOT IT. Hear me out, fellas....two words....'REAL. HAIR.'" Long pause, then the chairman smiles -- "Jenkins, you're a GENIUS!"
