He's gotten another stay. There was actually a surprising story on NPR (KERA) yesterday about multiple Texas conservatives getting on Ken Paxton directly about this. It was nice to hear some people say "as supporters of the death penalty, it's our obligation to make absolutely sure it's only applied when 100% justified." https://www.texastribune.org/2025/10/09/robert-roberson-execution-blocked-texas-court-of-criminal-appeals/ Edit: here's the radio story from yesterday: https://www.keranews.org/texas-news/2025-10-07/gop-death-penalty-supporters-question-robert-robersons-execution

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

On one of those guys, how do you miss a ranking so badly? It’s not like they are lineman where you can’t tell what their body will do. You can see right then when you scout them whether they can make wow plays on a contested ball in the air. Here we are in year 2 waiting for a contested play on a ball. -

Sheridan Titman is the highest paid employee at UT not in athletics. I can't believe they're sticking him on a committee.

A little off topic, but this Blue Devils timpanist is fantastic. Check out the foot cam in the lower right...

The Kremlin showed Putin's festive lunch with generals from yesterday. Just notice: only Putin has food on his plate, for most others even the napkins haven't been removed from the plates. There is no wine, no champagne, not even water on the table. It's somehow not festive for them. Everyone's faces look gloomy ——- Of course, some conspiracy dipshit has to ask grok if it’s real

Culvers vs BK is the biggest mismatch of an 8/9 I've ever seen.

I am walking through this for my own education because it seems like Johnson is trying to confuse multiple items. Johnson is specifically citing Emergency Medicaid use, which does not require legal citizenship paperwork, as a drain on resources. That use by undocumented immigrants represents less than 1% of Medicaid funds seemingly an indication it is not much of an impact. There have been no changes here, as federal law requires hospitals to treat emergency seeking patients. So, no real point of discussion when it comes to current negotiations. The other issue Johnson leaps into is the narrowing of eligibility for full Medicaid coverage for documented immigrants. The recent Republican bill narrowed eligibility essentially removing the more vulnerable immigrants like refugees, trafficking victims, etc. In reality, a heartless move but seemingly not a big financial impact from my point of view. Democrats do want to repeat this rollback but also not a large part of their negotiation, as their main focus are the credits which the caller does well to highlight. All this fair? -

Hard to call this a "cold front", given that highs will still be around 90, but this weekend is gonna feel so much nicer than the last few days. "Dry front" is probably a better term. Sidenote, if you want a reminder of just how dumb the general public is, read the replies when local weather anchor posts something like this. The amount of people that can't read a clearly-labeled chart and/or don't understand the difference between dewpoint and temperature is impressive.

Still listed as questionable on the last injury report as far as I know. I fully expect to see him lead the team out of the tunnel with hate in his eyes and a bag of dicks slung across his shoulder. -

CTVFF 26% on the day so far, I think it’s on day 2 of a multi-day run. Steve Zissou on Reddit, who is on track to be the next RoaringKitty, last post was GPHOF. Up 20% so far on the day, and looks like it’s on day 1 of its breakout. 50k shares of CTVFF and 12k of GPHOF both bought yesterday.
