2025 CFB Playoff Predictions - Often Wrong, But Never In Doubt
C'Mon Man replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Missed this last week. Here are my thoughts once week in. ACC - Miami and Clemson are the clear front runners here. Clemson is wildly overrated after an average 2024 that was clouded by the ACC champ win and a playoff appearance but if they make the ACC title game at 10-2, they will probably get in again. Miami still has Cristobal as their HC so they will drop at least one headscratcher. Overall the league is top heavy and the top teams don't all play each other so I see a few teams that should have good records and be sniffing around at large spots. I like Louisville as my dark horse here but FSU's win over Alabama warrants some attention. I have Miami winning the ACC and Clemson and Louisville both getting an at-large B12 - My pick prior to last weekend would have been Baylor here but watching them get gashed by Auburn has changed that. Utah looks like they are coming back into form. ASU should be solid and BYU is an interesting pick too. TTU was active in the portal but I don't think they landed enough talent to push them to the top of the B12. I think its a one bid league and I'm going with Utah. B10 - Penn St and Ohio St are automatic for me. I don't trust James Franklin at all but I think their returning experience is too much for me not to pick them. I could see Oregon being a surprise 8-4 and I don't think Michigan's QB will be ready to elevate that team back to the playoff. I think Washington is my third pick here but they looked pretty bad against CSU in week one. Penn St as the auto and Ohio St and UW at-large. SEC - Prior to week one, I was going to have Texas, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia all making the playoff but I think Alabama might catch an 8-4. A&M. OU, UF, and Tennessee are all too flawed to reach 10 wins in my opinion but they all can catch someone. I'm going Texas over LSU in the SECCG and Georgia at-large Indy - The loss to Miami doesn't help but I don't see them dropping two more games this season. 10-2 ND is going to get in over a 9-3 SEC team or a 10-2 B12 team. G5 - I'm going to pick Memphis here but I have no conviction behind it. List in no order - Miami - Clemson - Louisville - Utah - Penn St - Ohio St - Washington - Texas - LSU - Georgia - Notre Dame - Memphis -
I don’t disagree at all

Is there an official spoken history here? I’ve heard everything from Saban’s chosen successor to Sark consulted with Saban and accepted the Texas job. Sark left Bama in 2021. I think we can all agree Saban, at least mentally, was very far from retiring in 2021. -
Yeah it was crazy. His short passing game was just turrible. The weird thing is that I don't remember it being that way last year. Am I misremembering?

Oh sure but perhaps we all need to be reminded of what those countries did to those fascists after the war in order to make that long shot happen.

it doesn't matter how he treats them, it matters who is using them for cover to commit crimes while the courts decide if what they're doing is illegal or not

Does Arch work with the trainer during the season or in the offseason? The internet tells me this trainer is based in Alabama. If that's true, I don't imagine the trainer coming to Austin to train Arch, so he probably gets his QB coaching from our very own Milwee.

Thread Tangent warning: About a decade ago I got poison oak all over my man parts from carelessly pissing with my work gloves on during a battle with an unkept corner of our property... Thw wife was NOT buying what I was selling when I spent the first evening relentlessly itching my balls. Total agony for a week. -
What the fuck is wrong with you, Houston? Non-CR thread

It would definitely be a whole thing. Protests and counterprotests. Abbott and Trump talking about sending in the national guard. -
It silly. Only thing you can say OSU offense was very conservative also and went to even more conservative in the 4Q. Perhaps the secondary did not get the test we expected. Not too worried about that, but if you want to try to figure out if the defense is top 5 or top 10 based on that have fun with it.

IMO Quinn regressed here and so far it seems like Arch is showing the exact same struggles with mechanics that Ewers had

This list is very revealing. Look how many great programs are on this list. It's not like these were bad players who ended up at Southeast Miss. Community College. Aggies are able to land highly-ranked players, but they seem to have a problem retaining talent. Many of the players are starting or getting playing time.

This is correct. He treats them like royal decrees and yet in reality they are memos to exec branch employees and often don’t actually implement the things the White House claims

Just like that Olympic boxer, they’ll just believe they are men.

I've been laughing at all of the folks I see across the media and Twitter who are talking about OU positively after this weekend. There is no way any of them watched that game or even bothered reading a box score if they think OU looked good. OU fans, the one who aren't totally in the tank with the sunshine, are handwringing on their boards, right now.

Honestly I blame Mitch McConnell and the GOP Senate. They could have voted to convict after Trump led a violent attempt to stay in power culminating in the death of at least 3 people and the injuries of more than 100 police. It would have been the easiest decision to defend and Trump never would have been able to hold federal office again. But at the end of the day, despite witnessing this first hand, they are nihilists who crave power over everything else. Fuck democracy. Fuck voters. And especially fuck our founding fathers.

Whoever David Morris is, he does NOT allow one to skip leg day.

I can't believe this is real, but it is. Aggie didn't even look like the 5th best SEC this weekend. And Texas rolls them on the ground.

For a couple years there, he seemed to care a whole hell of a lot about his legacy and getting the appropriate among of credit. Then shit went sideways in New England, and the NFL told him to fuck off. Watching him now completely torpedo his legacy for said grifter pussy is a fascinating look into the human psyche.
