My Mexican oncologist recently went to Mexico and i was genuinely concerned he wouldn't be let back in. Luckily not the case. This time. -

the original parts were more amusing than all the call backs of previous laughs. don't need reminder of "eating pieces of shit for breakfast," "may, day, hay, play, way" rhyme, grandma's KISS mask, richard kiel, fighting with crocs. they were funny in the original. they weren't really jokes here, just reminders that they told the joke before. enjoyed the new chubbs, enjoyed the round with eric andre, enjoyed all the real golfers' roles -- surprisingly competent actors, enjoyed the running gag of everything being a flask, enjoyed john daly. ben stiller wasn't nearly as funny as the original. claire dunphy weirded me out in a few scenes, like she's had some work done recently that didn't work out. some of the shots sexualized sandler's daughter a little more than I'd think a dad in control of the whole process would.

I’m possibly the worst stock picker of all time. I do fine with my funds at vanguard but every time I buy an individual stock it tanks. A few years ago a friend shared motley fool’s rocket 10, ten stocks they think will take off. The previous years rocket 10 was up 250% and the one from two years before was up 300%. I had $15k sitting in a vanguard s&p 500 fund in a Roth Ira. I sold $10k of it and bought $1000 of each of the 10. Those stocks are worth about $6k today. The $5k I left in the fund is worth $8k today. I sold half the stock on Monday and bought UTLY with it, so cursed money from a cursed investor is in, sorry in advance to all of you already in UTLY

2024 Gaskamp Award Nomination & Discussion Thread
Bodacious Bevo replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Bumping this thread to bring back the convo for 2025. I’d give the award to Broughton for 2024 (see my pre-season post upthread for why) This year’s candidates are: - Will Stone. Yeah he’s been our kickoff specialist, but if Shipley gets injured and he hits some big kicks in postseason play, he could become a legend and fit the spirit of the award - Connor Robertson. He played significant snaps once against OU as a RS freshman. He’s pretty much been forgotten about since, so he’s a good candidate, but likely only gets his chance in the case of injuries - Neto Umeozulu. The overwhelming favorite. Despite the many calls for him to replace Hayden Conner, Neto has barely played and not looked particularly good in the limited action we’ve seen. Frankly, he might be the biggest question mark of all projected starters currently (which is not nearly the negative it was a few years ago). A good year for Texas likely means Neto gets to take home this illustrious award The current group of transfers are non-starters in my eyes. Campbell, Hutson, Taaffe, Guilbeau, and Burke have played too much and too well to be eligible. The rest of the 2022 class is either in a NFL training camp or transferred out. -

Perhaps not coincidentally, 320’s are a “hot deal” at Academy right now.

There is no meaningful difference between Houston metro and DFW. Zero. Fewer hurricanes in DFW, fewer ice storms in Houston.

Not a minority opinion, hotels (with rewards/points) are and will always be superior to airbnb, no matter what Ryan Trahan is trying to get us to believe.

That's what I'm saying. The timing of when guys are coming back is bad. They'll all be back after the deadline, so we don't have any information on how all these guys are going to do post-injury. I'm saying if we had more information then the decision whether or not to trade Framber would be an easier one. The injuries have finally caught up with us. You can't play a lineup of half AAA guys and expect to win long term. We're lucky to be where we are. We just gotta hope that when our guys get back they can win like they had been.
