Pickryl went pro in something other than sports, and that degenerative shoulder hasn’t kept him from climbing the healthcare ladder like a spider monkey on speed. -
RIP Superlungs. First heard of him via the Cheap Trick cover of Speak Now. Dude was talented, as Jimmy Page (and many others) recognized.

Most Quotable Comedies of the Last Decade
futureman replied to Lazarus Bocanegra's topic in Movies and TV
young people are definitely dumb but don’t worry because AI will learn every nuance of every script from the the best comedies throughout history and then endlessly churn out topical, feel-good, brilliant, hilarious blockbuster screenplays and studio execs will get hot actresses and funny dudes to star in them. it’s coming soon. -

This thread is turning out to be more like a film class called Cinematic Anthropology 305: the death of modern comedy dialog writing because young people are dumb -

The commute for fans is an easy one. People sometimes forget that the New England states are small and things are not that far apart. You can drive from New York to Boston in 3.5 hours or so. I have gambled, but one thing that does bother me is the inability now to talk about sports without the money someone has on a game. I also find it to be a good idea to get this team away from a gambling-fueled area. Boston is a really cool city with a rich history and love for basketball. I may be a fan of the Purple and Gold, BUT I can respect a city that cares about the game. Putting them there will be a good move for league revenue. It just won't be a good one for owners who wanted an expansion team there instead so they could collect millions in league expansion fees. I'll cry one tear for them.

Saw this headline on the NYT and it made me chuckle. It applies here, because for all the "helping the poor and downtrodden" that the Dems have historically supported as a main party tennet, they just can't seem to get behind this idea that Israel is committing an obvious and easily preventable genocide in Gaza. I'm sure Cuomo saw the good press and vibes that Zohran got from being against the wholesale slaughter and starvation of Gaza, and thought to himself "gee maybe I should try to take that away from him in this election!" Then I'm sure AIPAC called him and set him straight about what he's allowed to discuss publicly, or maybe his consulting and image team corrected him on it, probably both. Anyways, I think the Dems need to come out stronger as a party on this issue, as it likely would have been the difference in the Presidential election if Kamala had hammered on that issue instead of palling around with Liz Cheney.

And I am here for it! Went to my local tavern tonight. Bartender is a die hard Houston fan. Said I am on probation.... I laughed and said we got this. See you in the Post Season. I love how the team is playing -
Completely agree. Tudor has been killing it the last 6 years or so. You’d be hard pressed to find better value in that price range these days.

Didn’t know until now that she and Gary dated. Also surprised that Richard Sanders who played Les Nessman is still alive and close to the same age as the rest of the cast.
