Just saw on the MLB site that we rank 7th among suitors for Suarez. Not that we don't need him right now, but the suggestion is that because we've won a couple rings in the past 8 years, we aren't as desperate as some other contenders. Didn't realize we'd quit trying to compete, though since around the AS break it appears maybe we have. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-trade-deadline-2025-eugenio-suarez-trade-suitors (Edit: Note that I'm not suggesting we're even in the market for another 3B to plug in this season. We really don't have assets to spend anyway. But if the complacency hinted at in this piece is real, that's troubling on another front.)

Guess nobody else can catch a few innings -
Yep. You can't trade your way out of a situation where the majority of your rotation starts are going to minor-league JAGs and 1/3 of your lineup is negative WAR Replacements in the 3rd Degree (i. e. guys playing in place of the first and second waves of injured replacements who were brought in to replace injured starters). You especially can't do it with a barren farm system and an already-maxed-out payroll. The fuck we gonna trade? Hummel and Chas for a bag of dicks?

Orphey over Joseph feels like a high chance of upgrade. Sark hasn't missed yet in getting good developmental coaches. Which is why I am also bullish on Chad Scott. -

Chooky, these aren’t the people who built the railroads.

Driving around today and listening to national media spew tears for the Yankees about the loss of Judge and how difficult this will be for them while he is out. Really? How about rolling out a lineup with maybe 4 major leaguers and a staff with 2 guys who belong starting in the league and yet somehow have 60 wins. Fuck the national media, but more importantly fuck whomever is responsible for slowing playing some of these guys back. Time to get Spencer and Javier back because they damn sure can't be worse .

Poor dummy. We realize aggy fans are more obsessed with us than their own team. We know why they spent so much to see us beat that ass for the 70-whatever time. I’m sure we gave them their money’s worth. Yawn.

Amazing show. The steakhouse stain on the tie scene is funny as hell.

Going to have to disagree with your take there. If lying was criminalized, then some people might not opt into a career path where their pathologic nature is rewarded with prison time. Maybe we wouldn't have such smooth talking con-men and liars feeling great about their chances going up against awkward but studious individuals who want to build a better world. To your last point, the electorate gets their information from a combination of social and legacy media. If politicians couldn't lie to them, then they would be able to live in bubbles of delusion so easily. Same for media, if they were held accountable for lying/spin, then they couldn't so easily make ratings by creating bubbles. Our current system is akin to pushing the responsibilities pollution onto the public and telling them it is their duty to not throw out the styrofoam fast food containers, not the companies responsibility to pivot to green alternatives.

I think I saw that Melton is likely to be activated tomorrow. Maybe our long Hummel nightmare finally ends? Our luck this season, he'll slip and fall, tear an MCL walking down the steps of the bus dropping him off at Daikin.

Wait, really? I didn't think we were seriously going after him, it felt like OU mods were just trying to hype up a "win" against Texas.
