Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal
fattyflattie replied to Bozo_Casanova's topic in Cloak Room
I've never once claimed otherwise. I've been all over the world and solidly middle class in US in not a bad place to be. How you can be a top 5% earner and still be middle class here is a longer discussion, of course. I can be called a lot of things. Dishonest is pretty tough, though. No, I lost real money in the way of a huge project that got cancelled in a celebratory fashion by that admin. I don't have a grave pissing tour but that addle brained piece of shit would top the list. Incorrect. I replied with something like "any and every person would" and y'all ran with it like you had the superbowl winning intercept. Pretty benign statement really. I would feel ALOT different about the legality of road legal 1000 hp cars if some kid in a lambo wiped out my entire family filming a youtube. Or a lot differently about how we treat alcohol sales should they be wiped out by a drunk driver. The list goes on an on. Expecting someone to say "no, it wouldn't give me a second of retrospective thought" would have been a more flagrant answer. But you got a quasi true repeatable soundbite to follow me for a college sports board so congrats? -
Surely they mean lower taxes and fewer regulations, right?

My son in one year at West Point has his Air Assault badge. Something the Sec Defense War couldn't manage to accomplish through his entire "career".

We are respected around the world!!!11! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. They are just jealous at how awesome we are.

Just found out my son bought me a ticket to the San Antonio show, that should be fun. I was there when Paul opened the Alamodome back in 1993.

It seeks to create a more welcoming environment for conservatives, asking colleges to make governance changes and abolish departments that “purposefully punish, belittle, and even spark violence against conservative ideas.” Don't punish or spark violence. Yeah, I can get behind that. No place for that shit in an academic setting, but what the fuck does "belittle conservative ideas" mean exactly? And what, precisely, constitutes a conservative idea?

On Konstantin’s Wednesday economy round up he mentioned that one of the gas station chains not having gas in the Moscow area belongs to one of the largest petroleum companies in Russia. He said what concerned the citizens was that this particular company was one of the largest in Russia, with vast wealth, its own oil drilling/production, and its own gasoline refineries to process its own oil into gas. It then sells its own gas in its own gas stations. When that company’s gas stations are out of gas, the drivers think, “Holy shit, if that company’s station is out of gas, things are seriously much worse!” He also reminded us that every business that fails that owes money to the bank requires that bank to pull money out of its reserves to satisfy the loan default on its books. He thinks that banks are literally hemorrhaging their reserves right now, and that the Russian cultural propensity for its citizens who have learned that it is smart to engage in bank runs to protect their assets should just about be upon us - and to watch for it. Older Soviet citizens knew when shit was about to hit the fan, one had to take everything you owned and convert it from rubles into dollars or Euros. or at minimum, clean out your bank deposits and purchase something that had value to you. Something like non-perishable food - or electronics and appliances - things that were always scarce and would increase in value - so that when you came out on the other end, you still owned things that had the same or greater value then the now discounted rubles. Bank runs…

Having two locations, with the furthest east being Fort Worth is certainly a choice. Basically any team that is a top six seed in that projection except for UCLA and USC (who is listed as a five seed) is going to want to be in Fort Worth.

Beat me to it. Here it is on BlueSky if you don’t want to give León the clicks.

Brugler has been down on the top of the draft recently, talking about how the QBs and some of the other previously graded/mocked top three types have mostly disappointed. A few weeks ago he talked about how it might be OTs towards the top, and now he's saying while it's a deep OT class, those guys are mostly good rather than great Here's a new mock by Tice and his buddy https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/2026-nfl-mock-draft-10-an-edge-defender-goes-no-1-and-4-qbs-follow-him-in-the-top-10-220558890.html

I saw Wolf Alice last night. Odd show. They put on a great performance but the music is all over the place. Some very pop tunes, some near punk, one made me think of the band Winger, and one group sing along. Odd cast of band members from the sing along. From the left. lead guitarist pulled straight from the cure’s just like heaven video keyboard player was on his way to a sports bar to watch a football game lead singer. She’s got a helluva voice and looked the part drummer looks like a fan of Motorhead bassist is a high energy performer pulled from the 80’s band The Hooters

Texas Recruiting Notes 2027: I remember watching his dad play
Texas Wahoo replied to BornAndRaised's topic in 🤫$9.95🤫
I'm pretty sure the AAU changed the way they calculate R&D expenditures by removing most agricultural research because it is not competitively funded. This change led Nebraska to be kicked out, and Iowa State (and possibly Syracuse) to leave voluntarily before risking being kicked out. -
Once again, you completely miss the point. You really do suck at logic and analysis (and aren't the only one). OU may very well lose 4 or 5 (or more) games and it is completely moot. But nobody here is "predicting" the rest of the season dude. This is solely looking at statistical probability and analysis for a single game in October. If OU's goal is the playoff, and you have an injured QB that hasn't practiced and only slightly improves your chance of winning compared to playing a healthy backup, there is more upside to playing your backup because it's essentially a free roll in a scenario where you only lose 2 or 3 games. In a hypothetical where OU goes 9-3 with a loss to Texas while playing a backup, I think very likely OU would get in under any possible scenario. That would require going 4-2 against SC, Ole Miss, TN, Bama, Mizzou and LSU with wins over Michigan and Auburn in their pocket.

QB1 Arch Manning: Doing his best JAG impression to fool scouts
Biff Tannen replied to LTtxfan's topic in Football
It is, but I really like how the film guy breaks down small details that non-football obsessed people would never realize. Not only with QBs, but stuff like Gibson finding a gap using his vision instead of following his blocker on the TD run. And in the Ohio State breakdown, how Caleb Downs is an absolute freak that could be playing in the NFL right now. -
-
I believe multiple 9-3 teams are making the playoffs this year. There is more balance from top to bottom this year than I have ever seen. And it is absolutely great for CFB.

He set a fundraising record. Yay. After Beto, I'm not throwing any money towards a D candidate in Texas. Sorry. I feel like I might as well just light that money on fire. This state has proven, over and over, that it will not elect a D in the current political environment.

Arnold Jackson sucks. Same as it ever was.
