  2. Everytime I see this doofus:
  3. 40 miles from houston's downtown you're still in houston.
  4. Also, here's a list of confirmed visitors for the Texas/UF game. Some of these guys are targets for Texas, too.
  5. I mean, if you enjoy influencer B attacking the more popular influencer A as infotainment for 34 minutes of your day, by all means, consume away. I just see it as both these dudes are trying to build a brand and following that they can profiteer from — whether they are paid directly by their audience or by advertisers looking to reach their audience. I say fuck em both. If $100 is so vast an amount of money that you have to legitimately forego groceries for the week after giving it to Rick Beato as influencer B uses to position his criticisms, holy shit, you shouldn’t be spending any time or money on either of these dudes. You should be spending it with Dave Ramsey to teach you how not to be a dumbass with money. And if you do have $100 to spend on improving your ability with a guitar, go pay for 2-4 private lessons with a local musician better than you. You’ll learn more, develop a connection if not a friend and help a local musician make a buck from their musical knowledge.
  6. Now that his "memorial" service is over, the forgetting of Charlie Kirk begins.
  7. quite right.
  8. Florida 247 has a writer who wrote an article today that might as well be called "The Vultures Are Circling Florida's Carcass For These Recruits". He laments FSU being the leader at trying to flip guys, but Texas also gets mentioned for Guervil: "Kendall Guervil Guervil has been committed to Florida since July 2. A little over a month later, he shut his recruitment down with the Gators. Florida State and Texas have been in touch with him, especially after his knee surgery due to his season ending ACL and meniscus tears. Guervil has had conversations with the staffs at both Texas and Florida State, but no visits have been set to either school. He made it to the Swamp for Florida’s matchup against USF." Pay attention to this one. He may have already quietly visited Austin again. If not, it's got a good shot of happening. They also discussed Heze Kent, but no mention of Texas on that one.
  9. Link to the article: https://www.al.com/news/2025/09/alabama-construction-industry-may-face-devastating-shortage-of-workers-under-trump-immigration-crackdown.html At least they have Senator Tuberville to use his giant brain to come up with a solution to this problem.
  10. I think the Covid senior thing has really brought home something that I should have already realized - super veteran QBs are a cheat code in CFB. Before Covid it was unheard of for there to be a guy on his 6th or even 7th year in CFB, but then we got to see what several teams look like with that kind of player running things. Obviously the talent level is lower, or the QB would be in the NFL, but the experience is a game changer. Vandy has one of the most veteran QBs in all of FBS. The dude literally established legal precedent for how long one can tease out the college career. Pavia makes Vandy dangerous. That being said, I just don't think Vandy has the horses. I will be shocked and impressed if they can win even 1 of the three games you mentioned. If they win 2, then they deserve to be in the early CFP conversation. Personally, I don't see it. Pavia maximizes what they can do, but they are still a scrappy underdog at best. When push comes to shove, the team talent will be too much for them to overcome. This is an excellent point, not just about what we need Arch to do in order to win, but also about what we want Arch focused on. If he thinks he has to look like superman in order for us to win games, then he starts pressing again and we see him start to hesitate on open guys and throwing more worm burners. He needs to just focus on picking up yards and avoiding bad plays. I get @Codaxx's concerns about the defense, but I think the defense is still more than good enough to carry us through 99% of our schedule. I understand your worries about Guilbeau - he is definitely the weak spot - but our IDL is so much better than it was last season. In fact our entire front 7 is better than it was last season. Losing a guy like Barron was always going to make the secondary a bit worse, he was just a rare talent and football brain. But we are so much stronger in the box that I think it more than makes up for that loss. Edge, DT, and LB are all elite, and a good pass rush makes the DB's job easier. I tend to focus on that and just hope Guilbeau can be competent (which is what he seems to be). The OL is definitely worse than last season, but by how much? And for how long will it be worse? By getting the right guys out there and giving them time to gel, I think the are only a small step back. And if Baxter is healthy then I think our RB room is better and will look closer to how we looked in '23 than we looked last season. Not trying to rag on you for your concerns, but I think you are focused on the negative. In the ven diagram of pants pissing, you and I are most aligned about what the run game will look like going into Red River. I don't know if a bye week and Florida will be enough time for the OL to get its shit together. So I agree that the run game could still be a WIP by then. But I doubt it takes longer than Vandy or otherwise we really need to worry (even more) about what the fuck Flood is doing with that room.

  12. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/23/professors-us-south-leaving Many professors in the US south, particularly in Florida, South Carolina and Texas, are considering leaving their state because of the impact the political climate is having on education, according to a new survey by the American Association of Professors. Of those interviewed in the survey, roughly a quarter of respondents said they applied for a job in higher education in another state since the start of 2023. Heather Houser worked as a professor in the English department, teaching American literature and environmental humanities, at the University of Texas at Austin for 14 years. Like the growing number of professors in the stronghold Republican state, she found the increasing government oversight on higher education alarming. Houser left Texas earlier this year for a new teaching position at The University of Antwerp in Belgium. “I know a lot of people who’ve been on the job market for several years and they’d be gone by now if not for the factors that make it hard to leave,” Houser said. “It comes with sacrifices, and I still feel so much for my students and colleagues back in Texas. It’s hard to know what they’re enduring.” The survey received responses from approximately 4,000 faculty members across the south and included other states, such as Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky, in its findings. About 25% of the professors in Texas who responded said they have applied for teaching roles in other states in the last two years, with another 25% saying they intend to start a search. Last year, salary was the top reason as to why educators across the south were seeking employment elsewhere. In this year’s findings, however, “broad political climate” was the top motivator. “I had been looking to leave UT Austin and Texas for many years,” Houser said, “part was just a desire for personal change, but much bigger was my concern about higher education and the direction it was going. I was worried that the ability to teach things I cared about like environmental or social justice would become increasingly hard or even discouraged.” The Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, signed a bill in 2023 that banned diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) offices and initiatives in higher education institutions across the state.
  13. Wisner ran for 5 yards a carry against an Ohio State D loaded to the brim with NFL talent. You don't think he would have looked good and made a positive impact the past few games? Did your mom guzzle a bottle of Tylenol a day when she was pregnant with you?
  14. It's almost that time boys

Think medical is 30 or 33%. Something like that.
  17. I've reached out. Crickets.
  18. A family member had the same cancer with far fewer resources to fight it. This is a death sentence. The shocking weight loss is very sad. It robs your memories of who they were. Cancer is a plague.
