Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Codaxx replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Goosby's health was easily top 5 on the roster, prior to this. It is even more important now. You lose 2 people from any group, and it becomes a problem. This is not special to the tackle position. RT is a spot that Texas has some answers. Not sure that can be said for LT. Flood as recruited a decent amount of OG/RT types. Assuming Goosby performs as expected (going off memory, but I believe he had ~315 snaps without giving up a single QB hit), Texas can leave him on an island and help the RT. Injuries are never good, but I can think of at least 20 others that would have had more impact on the season. -
It'll go deep, and long.....

Honestly, same, even though it might sound funny coming from me because of my posting in the Israel thread(s) but I hate having to make that comparison because it makes people's eyes roll into the backs of their heads. But sometimes the parallels are just so goddamn obvious you're just like... -
The well travelled Jimmy Kolaitis (Mike's hitting coach at Oregon) left Ariz St and is now the AD/Head Coach at a small community college in his home state of Alabama. When Mike left for Texas, he got the head coach at UAB job. I think he is under the age of 50 so no idea if he wants to retire in Alabama or get back in the grind of D1 softball. And not sure of the relationship with Mike and there may be some baggage there due to his many moves that @FloridaHorn may know. A positive seems to be his West Coast connections. Fall workouts will likely begin in Sep. First Fall game was the first week of October last year, so good to have someone in place then.

C'mon guys, the U.S. has many seasoned, smart diplomats with extensive experience dealing with Russia. Putin's not going to get away with an..... (checks notes, sees that Trump is sending a fucking developer to do a diplomat's job) This is where we'll end up.

Counteroffer: We will cede to the gerrymandering on the condition that all Democratic Party and Independent members will no longer be subjected to Taxes of any kind within the State of Texas, in keeping with a founding principle of this great nation, “no taxation without representation.”

This is the other band "Wand." Has a little Radiohead feel.

There is no try, only do (little kids, apparently)

A quick note on the power of the gerrymander... Here's how Texas voted in the last few elections: 2024 Presidential election: Trump 56.2%, Harris 42.5%, Others 1.3% 2022 Gubernatorial election: Abbott 54.8%, O'Rourke 43.9%, Others 1.3% 2020 Presidential election: Trump 52.1%, Biden 46.5%, Others 1.4% 2018 Gubernatorial election: Abbott 55.8%, Valdez 42.5%, Others 1.7% The current US House delegation from Texas has 38 members: 25 Republicans and 13 Democrats. Republicans have 65% of the seats. If Republicans pick up 5 more seats, Republicans will control 78% of the seats in a state where they poll between 52-56% of the population. If the Texas delegation mirrored the statewide results, Texas would have 20-21 Republicans and 17-18 Democrats. They would have five fewer Republicans than they do now.
