My son goes to IMG and is now best friends with Tunmise. I’ll try keep everyone updated, I just want what is best for him because he is the most incredible young man I have ever met. I’m crying right now as I type this just thinking about him. My own son is stupid garbage compared to Tunmise, and I tell him that every time I speak to him.32 points

And we have found one of "the finest fans in all of college sports." I don't personally equate what Whitman did (premeditated mass homicide) with what the aggys did (negligent mass homicide), but if aggys want to insist the bonfire deaths were premediated and intentional acts of despicable cowardice, I will have to defer to the aggy point of view on the matter. "Despicable cowardice" does pretty much sum up the entire reaction and "investigation" by the aggys into what happened. I guess the truth about what you idiots did just hurt too much for you people to be honest with yourselves. Regardless, at the end of the day, at least the UT administrators didn't cover up the facts, use political connections to avoid personal responsibility, and then use the dead students as part of a marketing campaign by the university, promoting a farcical and dishonest version of what actually happened. Have a nice day. The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.20 points

The real winner in this is Harvdog's kid, who will no longer have to endure being stuffed headfirst into a trashcan by Tunmise every day at school.15 points

This will be a fun crowdsource. Of course an aggy would show up bent, ignoring or incapable of understanding that our stance is the exact opposite: We actually hate kids dying to the point that we find coverups and hiding negligence that murdered a bunch of kids to be despicable. aTm? Well, sure, they don't want their kids to die, but it's not as important as making sure the University and their culture can dodge any blame. Very Baylor-esque. Also, go fuck yourself.14 points

Those really are incredible numbers. And, not to distract from your point about young voters, I think it's also important to point out that according to the survey findings, almost 60 percent of all eligible voters under the age of 50 (regardless of education), think that Trump should be removed from office. Just needed to give a shout out for my fellow Gen Xers out there.12 points

It’s not “this board.” It’s like 2-3 fucking retards. Everyone else is appropriately on point. That’s like citing HollywoodColt and 6th Street and proclaiming the entire board has an itty bitty lil’ micropeen; it’s just not accurate.9 points

the wikipedia page is a great resource. Updated multiple times a day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019–20_outbreak_of_novel_coronavirus_(2019-nCoV) Deaths have roughly doubled each of the last 4 days. By my calculations by the end of February it will have killed 22 billion people.9 points

Yes and no. If they are enforcing it against all boys, then that may make it seem unbiased. BUT, when a policy - even (and especially) when "neutrally" applied - has a strong disparate impact on a minority class, that can be a racist policy. For example, imagine a policy that bans all tattoos, visible or not. Seems neutral. But if the school has several polynesian students who genuinely believe and practice their ancestral faith, tattoos are a part of that. So the policy, while neutral, has a disparate impact on polynesian males. Dreadlocks on a black male may be an iffier proposition (there is likely not a religious component), but it's still a culturally significant/important expression (and it is in his case, being Trinidadian). Of course, then the dirty hippie next door could argue the same thing about his unkempt blond mane. So, it's not always an easy call. But the kid appears to be a good kid, and most importantly, they CHANGED the code on him. He'd complied with the previous version by putting his hair up. They should either go back to that version, or grandfather in a student who grew his hair out under the old code. Short version: dumbass rigid rules lead to dumbass results.7 points

No they don't you stupid, ignorant dumbfuck bitch. Maybe if you'd bothered to get a decent education then you'd know that. You want to send your kids to a religious school to keep them as ignorant as you? Pay for it your goddamned self.7 points

You hear lots in meetings "it gets better," and it does. It is not an overnight process, though. Happy, Joyous, and Free comes, but, like with anything, there is also a period of transition. I'm not quite to my 18 month chip (God willing, in a couple of weeks), but things are challenging. When I (hopefully) hit my bottom, my wife was on the phone for hours a night with the EAP (Employee Assistance Program) folks trying to figure out benefits, $$$, etc. About a month later, she developed this mysterious rash. 16 months later, she still has it. It's miserable; it's all over her body, her face is peeling like she did a bad chemical peel, skin flaking off like dust, and it itches like crazy. She can't sleep, is always cranky, and I have no idea how she hasn't lost her mind. She's been to every doctor known to man, and no one can figure it out. We live in Houston and survived Harvey with minimal damage (VERY near where folks lost everything off Buffalo Bayou), but I'm sure there's a mold issue of some sort (it's HOUSTON!) Stress? Probably. She's eaten clean, stopped eating and drinking things she knows cause a reaction, has gone to (a little) counseling for the baggage she carries, and is trying to take care of her mental state through yoga, relaxation, etc. Needless to say, all these doctors trying stuff out (no offense to MD's, but, man, it seems like they "try" more than they "know," oftentimes), her being in a near breakdown stage daily, and all the oils and salves, she feels like she has the right to spend whatever she needs to get some comfort. I don't blame her, but couple that amazing debt run up with her not really wanting to engage with Al Anon or any real deep counseling on herself (it's "CDM's problem, you need to figure it out"), an absolutely horrific year at my company (thus, no real bonus), and very little intimacy between us, I'm not feeling so happy, joyous, or free. I know this is part of it, and feel like I'm whining, just really challenged today. I "should" count my blessings around being sober today, and really I do, it's just a tough row to hoe at home, lately. Anyways, thanks for "listening." Headed to the Outpost meeting today to get some perspective. -Charles7 points

Cool, cool. So, Just to be clear, right-wingers are a-ok with taxpayer funding of religious schools that place loyalty to their religious values above the US system of laws (I mean, that's what Christianity is -- in the world, not of the world, all that stuff). So they'll be SUPER-cool with it when this sort of policy funds, say, a muslim madrassa in Dearborn.5 points

1) In your original post you said, "And likely other spring sports." You weren't limiting the discussion to just the Big 3 sports. It's simply not true if you look at conference championships, Director's cup rankings, national titles, and so on. This same discussion happened in this thread where a LSU fan was running with the same narrative. 2) Your initial argument wasn't limited to "currently". You were making the argument that Baylor continues to hire great coaches as if they're stacking great seasons year after year. It simply isn't rue. Baylor hasn't been better in baseball. Since 2010 Baylor has 1 conference championship and 0 CWS appearances. In the same time frame, Texas has won 3 conference championships and has 3 CWS appearances. Steve Rodriguez has finished 6th, 4th, 5th, 2nd in the Big 12 and has never advanced out of a regional. Not sure why you think that was some type of great hire by Baylor? Rhule had a good year but in the last 3 years Baylor is 19-20 with a 1-2 record against Texas. They haven't won a bowl game. I don't want to get into this Rhule debate again but I'm not sure why you think Baylor is currently in a better place in football. Next year will be a rebuild much like year 1 was for Rhule when you look at Baylor's roster/recruiting. So in all likelihood, 3 out of the last 4 years will be average to sub par for Baylor. Baylor's basketball program is legit and Scott Drew is a good coach. It's not comparable to their baseball or football program. 3) Beyond that fact, you tried to insinuate Baylor's AD is making better hires than CDC. Here are CDC's three hires so far. White (Softball)-ranked 6th in the preseason poll, Floreal (track and field)-men and women's indoor are ranked 4th, Berque (men's tennis)-currently ranked #1 and won a national title last year. Please list the great hires the current AD at Baylor has made that even come close to those hires made by CDC? CDC seems pretty legit based on the fact all three of his hires are currently ranked in the top 6.5 points
