  1. The guy made a prediction and was wrong. He wasn't particularly ardent or assholish about it. I say he stays.

  2. "Hughes' model" was designed with staff and put in working order before Hughes got bounced by compliance. That model will remain in tact, as requested from the top. A DPP, Two ADPPs. Some full time staffers. A good force of support staff interns, some of which I am guessing will be "volunteers" to ensure they can get the labor hours the coaches are pushing. Each coach assigned a region in Texas and some have additional regions OOS, as well as their respective position groups nationally. They'll also each have a group of evaluators dedicated to helping them find and evaluate prospects at their position and region. It's sounds similar to what I've heard former Saban assistants speak of. I don't know which of Texas' coaches have which regions in or out of state. I do know that Glasscock was hired and fit into the system Hughes started, not hired to bring his own. For background on Hughes, he spent 4 years as an intern under Saban's front office staff while he was a student at Alabama. He's done it their way, or close to it, ever since from a structural perspective. Sark had that while in TTown, I assume his desire to keep it is a top priority for him based on his quick hiring of one who knew the ins and outs of the model and then hiring a backup that could be slotted into it. Regardless of how true to form it compares to Alabama down the road, it has already been described as quite an upgrade.

  3. oh, and to add, let's offer up a 'comparable' analogy reversal and see how it fits. who's the aoc of the right? jim jordan? matt gaetz? this is basically like if there was a huge earthquake here in west hollywood and the whole area was a disaster. imagine matt gaetz mobilizing his followers, rallying the troops, raising millions of dollars, then hopping a plane to lax, and getting boots on the ground, shoulder to shoulder with anyone who was willing to stand by his side, and actually doing the work and helping fellow americans in a blue state. are you picturing this? personally, i'm unable to. and i have a wild imagination.

  5. some people see 99% and consider that absolutism. i am one of those people. this is not your wife grabbing your cell phone that you left in the other room. this is not a quick favor. this is a nyc congresswoman going above and beyond in ways i'm not sure we've ever ever seen. if you can't say thank you without first offering up a disclaimer essentially denouncing her and everything she's worked for and stands for, then i agree, this is a problem. over the past couple of years, many have wondered why aoc needed such a big platform. what's the point of having millions of twitter followers and a huge national presence if you serve semi-locally and only need tens of thousands of votes to get elected? this is the fucking point. she uses it for good. in a state that doesn't care about her, and did not vote for her side. fox news has spent 3 years and hundreds of hours explaining how evil she is. it's working. past that, i cannot help you.

  7. I rarely post here, but read the forum frequently. So, I felt obligated to let you know I find your posts obtuse and frankly insufferable. I don't see anyone suppressing opinions. Rather, it seems more like the timing and context that folks are taking issue with. As usual that nuance flew over your head. There's a time and a place for political disagreement, and crtiticizing an individual whom went well above with her humanitarian obligations is poor form. Texans are not technically her constituants, but she's helping anyway. There are some (albeit few) politicians that still get "it". So in other words...too soon. Conservatives should just say "Thanks", and at least hold off a week before resuming demonizing her.

  10. wait....this ridiculous episode is what it took for you to realize that Cruz is a spineless f'n pussy that stands for nothing? It never occurred to you that might be the case after the 2016 GOP primary season? You know, when Trump trashed Cruz's reputation, called his wife ugly, and implicated his father in JFK's assassination? Cruz tried showing some backbone by calling out Trump At the convention, he did his best impression of being a man ... But when it became immediately clear to Cruz that there was no place in the GOP for anybody that didnt worship Trump, Ted suddenly became one of the biggest orange jizz guzzlers on the planet. He knew exactly what Trump is, he's on record multiple times. Yet fast forward a few months after the convention... That's your definition of a man? If it takes CancunCruz to make you realize that Cruz is a worthless piece of shit, you're either mentally handicapped or you knew all along and just didn't care. Ill give you the benefit of the doubt on the first point, which is why nobody believes your bullshit about being shocked to suddenly discover what a dishonest pussy Cruz is. The evidence has been in plain view for years, and you just don't care.

  13. OU holder Spencer Jones got in a fight and his eye/face got wrecked. Required 4 hours of surgery. ESPN and other media portrays him as a victim trying to break up a fight. From the video, you could see he and his friend were the aggressors, while the 2 shorter guys were already sporting a bloody nose. BTW, short stocky guy, curly hair looking like a midget greek statue....good chance they wrestle lol.

  14. At the vet with Crosby. He’s thrown up like 5 times today. He’s got cancerous tumors all over, including his liver. We have him on about 10 pills a day to give him a reasonable quality of life until we have to say goodbye. Was terrified this would be the day. But his vet (who thank god worked today) said he can give him a Sirenia injection and send us home with the pills version that will relieve pain and nausea. He was very open with me. He said he will be an advocate for Crosby and he’ll tell me when it’s time to say goodbye. But today isn’t the day. God I love that stupid animal.

  16. I had a post-college friend that was a full ride, non-Mormon rassler at BYU. We were at Kay’s Lounge on Bisonnet one Saturday evening back in the wild days of the Mountain West football track meets. I suffered through a Longhorn fiasco and stayed to watch BYU play the Marshall Faulk led SDSU Aztecs. IIRC, this after aggy beat up on Ty Detmer in the Holiday Bowl. My friend was an unassuming 5’ 10”, 165 lbs guy that was a cat-quick, strong as garlic bad mofo in disguise. He would cheer BYU when they scored and pretty much acted like any other normal person would. Of course, there was some big-ass aggy prick at Kay’s that would mouth off to my fiend and tell him to shut up and recount how aggy destroyed BYU, etc. and my friend just kept doing his thing and ignored aggy. Finally aggy meathead approached us, told my friend again to shut up and how he was gonna kick his ass if he didn’t. BYU scored again, my friend cheered and here comes aggy. He reached for my friend and didn’t like the results as he was quickly turned into a choked out, sputtering and blubbering pretzel. Wrestlers can bring it. Beware. /csb.

  19. The thing about Ocasio-Cortez is that even if one adopts a cynical view that her appearance in Texas was political theatre, there's no credible argument to be made that she is not sincere. That's the difference between pols like her and dickholes like Ted Cruz. She's an empath where Traitor Ted is a soulless garbage troll.

  20. You will might this one better. The guy who gets his shit shoved in is the holder for OU. Happened this week at a bar in Norman. The two guys are wrestlers at a small juco school here in Oklahoma City.

  22. Lulz, Cruz and Trump weren't on opposite sides of some nuanced public policy debate. It was two guys accusing each other of being human shitbags. And when Trump alpha-shitbagged all over Cruz's dwindling GOP prospects, Cruz drug his own emasculated ass in line with the rest of the GOP. The fact that this episode didnt clearly identify Cruz in your mind as a spineless coward is quite illuminating.

  27. Their constant claims that the SEC plays defense is hilarious. Did they actually watch their conference last year? The defenses were god awful. The offenses have all started switching to spread, but the defenses are nowhere near caught up. They’re basically the Big 12 about 10 years ago. Funny enough, the Big 12 has actually finally figured out how to at least be effective against the spread and had way better defenses against the spread than the SEC this year.
