You don't have to explain yourself to this board's version of the Iraqi Propaganda Minister for Negativity and this board's version of Ralph Wiggum. The rest of us understood.34 points

If his name was Dia Smith, he'd probably be a high three-star quarterback. He plays a very low level of competition. He hasn't progressed since his freshman year. I wouldn't say he's regressed, but he hasn't progressed. When he has had to step up against other competition, especially the playoff game where he looked awful, it just hasn't translated. Now, the Bell name is important. It's not just the name but what goes into that. Raja was a tremendous athlete. The kid's been taught since a young age. You have to assume based on the success of everybody else in that family that he's going to be good. So, high three-star with the name Smith. Throw in the Bell name you get to a four star.33 points

First, lets state the obvious; You don't actually have any actual information about the NIL budgets, costs, packages, or anything else at any other school. You don't have any actual information about those things at the fucking school you follow, Texas. So the fact that you say declaratively that other programs don't care about cost is stupid to the point that it should be immediately dismissed, mocked, and you should be laughed at, heartily. Second, we just inked the number one class, loaded at damn near everywhere, a few short months ago, including some big time over the top efforts at the end to get key, high cost players. And this was after everyone piss and shit themselves all summer about our class. And, this is something I actually know, our fundraising has only gotten stronger and improved since last year. So maybe, maybe, act like you can remember at some point in your life what it was like to have a set of balls.30 points

This entire post is built on the assumption, and assumption for which there is no evidence for, and plenty of evidence to the contrary, that Texas will be incapable of winning big recruitments down the road that are the ones they deem as must wins. We were losing to LSU for Collin Simmons till we werenβt, we lost Anthony Hill to A&M until we didnβt, we lost Sharma to Oregon until we didnβt, and Banks, and Cam Williams. Ryan Wingo was staying home. Kade Phillips was going to LSU because we blew it by telling him he was a safety. Was Justus Terry even considering us until we decided shit, we might need DTs? Georgia and Oregon didnβt seem to be able to do shit about it once we did decide it was a need. When did all these flips or commits come? Hmm, I bet it wasnβt June. In summation, you have terrible fucking takes and you might be the only person on earth who resents getting his dick sucked.25 points

Justus Terry wasn't going to end up here, either. And also, that's one guy's opinion writing checks after a game of telephone with Blackcat. I'd more point out that Blackcat, and the donor in question, we're overwhelmingly positive about the situation and how we're handling things, and yet Satya found a way to be negative and fling his period blood all over the board, and you for some reason felt the need to lap it up like a thirsty kitten. This is a real great showing for you, I'm sure everyone is really surprised by this turn of events.22 points

It came up because I had seen we had fallen behind for Atkinson and then the next thing I saw about him was he was visiting. So I asked him about it and he said he still doesnt think we get him (because hes highly valued and Im assuming UGA or whoever will continue to pony up) but we are making him a competitive offer that raised the market for him. I just think its pretty cool that we can money whip our way back into big time recruitments. The implication is if they dont match he is willing to come to Texas. So due to our deep pockets, even in recruitments where we dont lead, we are able to be a thorn in the side of those who are more likely to win the recruitment. That puts stress on their budget, which could help us down the line in other recruitments and in the portal. I suppose that wouldnt be the case if our competitors have as deep of pockets as us but his implication is in this case they dont.21 points

People are dogpiling you - and rightfully so - but I'd rather light a candle than curse your darkness. You have correctly identified a problem - that you have to outbid many schools to win an NIL auction, and if we are committed to sticking at what we perceive to be "market price" then it only takes one school who is willing to pay above market to win the recruitment. That is logical, I will give you that. But you're forgetting some factors: 1. We are setting the market in June. What happens in December when we still have money at our disposal and decide to reset the market? Will that one school who outbid us be able to do so again? Will they be able to win a bidding war once we know our financial constraints and decide to go above market? 2. We are willing to go above market. We have been for several years now. Justus Terry, Colin Simmons, Ryan Wingo...etc. etc. etc. When a guy comes along who is a "must get," we aren't getting outbid by anyone except maybe Oregon. There are some guys for whom the market price doesn't have an upper limit. 3. There are tangible and obvious benefits to forcing your competitors to commit their limit resources to winning battles. I'm sure you've heard the expression Pyrrhic victory. If they have to overpay for guys we want but don't need, they have less resources to throw at a guy we need. Picking and choosing those battles is part of an overall recruiting strategy and Sark / the staff have shown they're very good at developing strategy in addition to being good at making the tactical decisions required to win individual recruitments. Losing recruits like Edwards, Bowman, and Lott sucks. But we've only lost them for now. And if the staff thinks we need those guys then they'll back up the brinks. But they can't buy everyone and we're clearly committing resources to winning more important battles. We'll circle back around to those guys later if we can. And, as other people have readily pointed out, it's June. There's still a lot of time left to close ground. Especially if we continue to kick ass and teams like USC and A&M continue to step on rakes.18 points

The frustrating thing is: those idiots will look you straight in the eye and insist that they did not vote for this. Theyβll say Trump promised to end all the wars Biden got us into (fact check: there are none) and prevent war from ever happening again. And then, rather than admit that they are suckers who fell for one of the most obvious lies ever told, theyβll insist that he was telling the truth. Theyβll justify this flagrant violation of his campaign promises by opining that this is all Iranβs fault or the result of Woke Ideology or a valiant fight to prevent Sharia Law or some other stupid fucking nonsense that just makes them look even dumber than the drooling morons that they are.13 points

No fucking shit. I actually know the posters who told you that shit on this very fucking board. But I guess our staff and program aren't aware... Maybe. Since this is going down pretty similarly to last year, why don't you untuck your shriveled cock and balls and see what happens this fall? I will say, the lack of roster turnover at Texas is fucking insane compared to other programs. If that means we might miss out on some blue chips we wanted to maintain guys we like in the program, every few years, which I'm not even saying is the case, I'm probably OK with it.11 points

Iran doesn't want to destroy itself by launching a nuclear weapon any more than Israel, North Korea, Russia, etc do. Remember when North Korea was making big noise, launching missiles by Japan and acting like they were going to go crazy when they got a nuke? That was to keep from being invaded. Once they got nukes they shut the fuck up and joined the majority of the world who doesn't want self destruction by launching nukes. Why would Iran be any different? The only reason Netanyahu is doing this is to avoid being overthrown and heading to prison. He has to keep Israel in a constant state of war. He's enacting a genocide in the Middle East and we're aiding in it. We had an agreement with Iran that worked and kept us out of this sort of stuff then trump tore it up. Now the entire world knows the only path to security is having nuclear weapons. No negotiations for disarmament will ever work again after this crap trump and Israel are pulling. So no, I don't want the US military attacking Iran just because Netanyahu wants to stay in power.10 points

CJ Vogel Updates from Summer Conditioning *** β The team is working out four days a week with Wednesdays proving to be a lighter day off of the field from the traditional conditioning days. Majority of days are held inside of DKR for the team to work conditioning with Torre Becton and his staff. There remain days over at Denius practice fields for sand work in the sand and some light hill work. β Leadership remains strong from the Texas quarterback, Arch Manning. You will hear the cliche of Arch adopting the 2025 roster as his team but that is accurate in terms of the leadership approach being taken. β Running back CJ Baxter is working out, but remains a little ways away from 100%. For Baxter, it is all about going from step to step in his recovery from a blown out knee. From what I gather, there is still a ways to go for Baxter in terms of returning to full trust with cuts and full start-and-go, as expected, but the steps made to getting on the field have been significant. James Simon continues to be a name mentioned from the freshman ranks. β There is plenty of reason to be optimistic about the tight end room as well. I have heard the addition of Jack Endries has been smooth, plus Jordan Washington remains a guy who has found every opportunity to put in extra work. β A few guys on the offensive line standing out from a leadership perspective β Trevor Goosby and Cole Hutson. Another nugget on the offensive line is freshman Nick Brooks has done a fine job of refining his body since arriving in Austin. He is on a similar path physically as Cam Williams when he arrived around 360 pounds. Brooks is in the mid 340s now. β On the defensive side of the ball, I mentioned Jonah Williams earlier in the week as someone referred to as a "freak" by someone I spoke with. That probably isn't a surprise. For Jonah, the key is to add as much of that armor as you can in the time building up to the kickoff in Columbus. The transition from a baseball body to a football body is the priority. β I remain bullish on Wardell Mack and his contributions this season. β The regular voices are heard on the defensive side of the ball β Michael Taaffe, Anthony Hill Jr, and Colin Simmons. I can also add Trey Moore is move vocal in year two as a Longhorn as well. β Safety Derek Williams Jr. is back working fully with the team in offseason workouts. This is just seven months following his torn ACL that occurred against Oklahoma.10 points
