  1. During the Majors, I like to listen to THE TENNIS PODCAST. (You'll never guess what it's about.) This evening I listened to the SURLY podcast while knocking out 6+ miles, but I have to say that when I listen to a podcast, I want it to stick to the subject at hand. I go off on enough tangents just trying to tell a story myself, I don't want a podcast to do it as well. I occasionally listen to: -(THE?) COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY (when I think that there is something worth listening for) -TOTAL SOCCER SHOW (before/after USMNT matches) -AROUND NFL (before my Fantasy Football draft)
  2. His podcast is one of those in that it's only as good as his guests, since he transitions his opinions and personality into whoever his guest is. If I were to scroll and see someone I really liked on his podcast, I'd listen. Until I saw this thread bumped, I completely forgot Joe has moved 100% over to Spotify. I didn't even notice he was no longer on my podcast feed. On his own, he's completely forgettable.
  3. Listening to the Stuff you Missed in History Class 2 part podcast on the 1918 Pandemic. Definitely interesting. LOTS of parallels. Those that do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Seems really fucking obvious here. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/stuff-you-missed-in-history-cl-21124503/episode/1918-flu-pandemic-revisited-part-79323525/ https://www.iheart.com/podcast/stuff-you-missed-in-history-cl-21124503/episode/1918-flu-pandemic-revisited-part-79461086/
  4. Yeah it seems like podcasting is going the way of video streaming platforms - you’ll have to subscribe to five or six different platforms to have access to everything you like. I have never listened to Joe Rogan and have no plans to but I listen to multiple different podcasts from multiple publishers all the time. I like being able to access them all on one app. Not looking forward to having to have eight different podcast apps.
  5. Definitely need a mic upgrade for both of yall, something like a a snowball or something, I've got a spare Blue Yeti mic in Houston that I'd be happy to get to one of yall. Any plans of getting this listed on iTunes and other podcast platforms? If yall don't wanna fuck with the upkeep for keeping it up to date on podcast listings I'd be happy to toss my hat in on the technical side to help out so it's easier to find. Great stuff though for an opening podcast!
  6. Good "The Daily" podcast today. If Biden can distill this podcast into a tight answer about how no one is going to do away with their police forces but that under his watch the federal government is going to assist, if needed, as local communities reform their police departments as they see fit, he will absolutely gut Trump's bogus law and order arguments. "Lemme tell you about Minneapolis...." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/25/podcasts/the-daily/george-floyd-police-reform-election.html
  7. Jan 7th... The 1-0 Podcast "2020 Football Fix-Ins" https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/2020-football-fix-ins-the-1-0-podcast/id1479624200?i=1000461849602 Happy New Year! Joe Cook & BK recap Texas's dominant performance in the Alamo Bowl and start to look ahead to the 2020 Longhorn football season. Plus, the guys talk the NFL coaching carousel and give their thoughts on the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds of the NFL Playoffs.
  8. Good podcast - about the Jews and anti-semitism, but in the middle is an interesting aside of the Jews as the forefront of a welcoming immigration policy. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/30/podcasts/the-daily/american-anti-semitism-shooting-synagogue.html?rref=collection%2Fcolumn%2Fthe-daily&action=click&contentCollection=podcasts&region=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=collection
  9. listened to Malcolm Harris on the Pivot Podcast back in February talk about his new book “Palo Alto” and some of the stuff he talked about blew my mind. Interview starts at 36:20 mark https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pivot/id1073226719?i=1000602049936
  10. Personally I like that style of podcast....where they can go off on tangents. I hate the super structured style of podcast that sound like I'm listening to sports talk radio that is so time constraint oriented that its not very fun to listen to or get good opinions from.
  11. If you're into podcasts, check out A More Civilized Age. It's four nerds that are professional writers and creatives that were doing a Clone Wars podcast and paused to watch Andor, but they REALLY get into things. Excellent discussion that even maps some of Nemeks writing to the modern day contemporary revolutionary authors
  12. I will never forget when my buddy told me about Rogan's podcast and how good it was. I listened to his interview with Glenn Greenwald for about 8 minutes and I immediately was like If you don't immediately understand this is a podcast for abject morons, you are the abject moron.
  13. THE ORANGEBLOODS PODCAST JULY 9, 2020 EPISODE 129: ANXIETY EXISTS EVERYWHERE In today’s edition of The OBP, @gkketch takes a look at the mood of the room in college football less than two months from the start of the season. https://theyakk.com/podcast/episode-129-anxiety-exists-everywhere/
  14. Thanks for posting. Their gerrymandering podcast series from a couple years goes into in depth discussions on all of this. Listened to the episodes in one day during a thunderstorm and have posted here before. Definitely worth the listen and hits on all angles. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-gerrymandering-project/id1336743759
  15. Conan has a new podcast called Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend. If you like him, you'll like the podcast, but it's a bit awkward. The premise is he talks to celebrities to see if they can be friends, but it's quickly abandoned. He hasn't really figured it out yet, but it is entertaining if you're into him.
  16. New podcast about the Austin bombings in 2018. Very good so far, and an interesting look at how insane it was (duh) along with the timing, crisis management and thought processes of various bomb squad personnel and other investigators. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/witnessed-19-days/id1578324041
  17. I believe that College Football Daily’s podcast mentioned that a couple of new ratings rankings were being developed: 1) incoming Transfers Rating 2) High School Signees + Incoming Transfers = Total New Player Ratings I believe that they are a 247 related podcast. This will be revealed this week.
  18. He certainly has no clue how to count calories I call that I will get intoxicated tonight...I did say on the podcast that we get a commit by the time the podcast drops and of course I was wrong so I’ll extend my timeline and say someone drops this weekend
  19. Not really a rockets fan but i thought the conversation with Ryen Rusillo on the Pardon My Take podcast was pretty interesting talking about the nets/rockets and how that team would work and how harden has fucked the rockets over in this scenario. Starts at about the 79.5 minute mark of the podcast.
  20. Jan 7th... Everyone Gets a Trophy Podcast "Hold That Tiger " https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hold-that-tiger/id1479624200?i=1000461817064 Paul & Kevin break down the CFP matchups and why this LSU team could go down in the history books with a win over Clemson.
  21. According to one neurosurgeon quoted in the podcast, most residents would have been expected to have performed 3,000 surgeries ... this guy apparently did not break 100 before graduation. Psychopath notwithstanding, I think they guy generally did not know how to perform surgery, according to the podcast.
  22. If any of you are gluttons for punishment the latest Longhorn Blitz podcast with Rod Babers and Jeff Howe has about a 10 minute diatribe on the complete coaching and player failure that occured on the last WVU touchdown pass. They are (rightfully) pretty brutal to Todd Orlando. It occurs near the end of the podcast.
  23. A picture from inside the basement of the Phoenix from last night's live podcast taping. Its not a very big joint - there were 25 of us in there and we just about filled it up. If his podcast tapings start getting larger he's going to have to find somewhere else.
  24. So this is interesting if it's accurate. Sounds a little special exemption Gordo. Does the Freak let their people monetize the podcasts. I've never listened to a Freak podcast. Does it include ads? I can see why Cumulus might've said no to their demands. Got this from My Ticket Confessions:
  25. For weekly podcasts, I never miss Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, unless it's an interview of someone who doesn't interest me. Same with Your Mom's House (Tom Segura and Christina Paziztsky). Also a regular follower of: Walkin' The Floor w/Chris Shifflet - Foo Fighter lead guitar player's examination of country music. Great interviews. Cocaine & Rhinestones Your Favorite Band Sucks Celebration Rock with Steven Hyden Hardcore History with Dan Carlin Doug Stanhope's Podcast The Church of What's Happening Now (Joey Diaz) Bertcast (Bert Kreischer) Heartland College Sports (Big 12 podcast) CycloneFanatic (produces a variety of ISU related podcasts) Big 12 County (self explanatory) Basically anything about the music I like, comedians I'm in into, and sports I follow, with a little history thrown in. I farm, so I spend at least 3 months a year working 16-18 hour days, 7 days a week, while operating machinery. Podcasts keep me sane.
