The Robert Mueller Investigation

Hugo Stiglitz

There are two issues.

1) Manafort bought the unit in an all-cash deal shortly after closing a shitload of deals with Russians and Ukrainians. It was bought was laundered cash. Manafort also bought a number of other properties in all cash deals that are also bought with laundered cash. Manafort has been laundering money for Russians since at least 2006.

2) Manafort took a $10 million dollar loan from Deripaska. This is in addition to the $18 million dollars Manafort already owed Deripaska. Manafort offered to brief Deripaska on the Trump campaign and asked Kilimnik to find out how he could use his position as Trump campaign manager. "How do we use to get whole?".

Does anyone think Trump hasn’t been laundering Russian money over the past 10 years?

I mean, it’s possible but come on, he’s dirty AF.

He’s got over 500 companies.  He does real estate deals in NY, Florida, and internationally.

How does he, or one of his underlings or associates, not get involved in some kind of laundering?

Mueller team announced today veteran espionage prosecutor Brandon L. Van Grack is being added to prosecution team in Manafort Virginia case starting in 4 weeks.

EDVA, home to federal counterintelligence cases, and espionage specialists, evidently.

Recall this is the case where Judge Ellis initially torched the prosecutors, demanded an unredacted copy of the Mueller Russia mandate to make a final call on whether Manafort's case should be tossed on account of claims the charges stemmed from old pre-Trump activity unrelated to the scope of Mueller's active Trump Russia investigation.  The un-redacted mandate resulted in Ellis tossing out nothing.  So 4 weeks from today we go.

That ABC link sucks...

Here’s the real story

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/reality-winner-accused-leaking-report-russian-election-hacking/story?id=56087641

She was denied bail and has remained in jail since her arrest, which is rare in espionage cases, according to the Courage Foundation.

“My daughter Reality has decided to change her plea. I believe that this plea is in Reality’s best interest at this time. Given the time and circumstances and the nature of the espionage charge I believe that this was the only way that she could receive a fair sentence. I still disagree strongly with the use of the espionage charge against citizens like Reality,” her mother, Billie Winner Davis, said in a statement through the Courage Foundation.

“The cards were stacked [against] her and she couldn’t defend herself against the espionage charge as that charge doesn’t allow for defendant to show public interest or best interest or intent,” Winner Davis continued.

Under the 1917 Espionage Act, Winner could face up to 10 years in prison.

“Releasing classified material without authorization threatens our nation’s security and undermines public faith in government," Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said at the time of her arrest. "People who are trusted with classified information and pledge to protect it must be held accountable when they violate that obligation."

My thoughts:  Reality Winner shouldn’t be charged under the espionage act but she should be held accountable.  While what she did appears noble to most and I can understand why her actions seemed justified, her leak could have actually aided Russia.  By leaking details of the Russian attack she is letting the Russians know what we know which usually leads to them changing tactics and looking for other vulnerabilities.

Since the Russian attack is fake, can't she just expect a pardon?  If her folks have half a brain they get their asses over to Fox and Friends everyday while this assclown is still President.

Damn. I actually gained some respect for Shelby for the way he handled the Roy Moore debacle even though he’s always been nothing but an opportunist with no true beliefs beyond what will benefit him.

But fuck you in the ear, Senator Shelby for that traitorous line of whataboutism weak ass bullshit.

What would your god, Ronald Reagan, say about you excusing Russia’s attack on our democracy?

In short, fuck youuuuuuuuuu Senator Shelby.

"But Obama!" and "But Hillary!" to excuse Trump's reprehensible conduct has become "But America!" and "But everyone else!" to excuse Russia murdering journalists (Trump) and conducting intelligence ops to harm America (Shelby).   Astounding that we have reached this point, but when an entire party is based around whataboutism, I suppose this is the natural result.

That’s why anybody with a brain, in his position, would never get involved in politics.

Is that because he is still cooperating or because more charges are possible?  I'm assuming the former, but have no clue.

Yes, Flynn still has information to assist in the investigation unlike Papadopoulos, who is no longer useful to the probe.

Yep, his attorney also signed the document.  Also, at this point they know everything he did and saw so I'm curious what he's still doing for them.

Gathering evidence, watching, observing, and reporting.

Flynn has a big role in the cyber influence/hacker side of the investigation.

Cheers all.  He went off the reservation quite a while ago and we'll probably never know why it happened, but damn it must sting for a guy like that to wake up everyday knowing you're a traitor.  I hope he's doing his best to make amends to his country and soul during this investigation because he has to look himself in the mirror the rest of his life.

Knowing that Mueller is still grinding on and using him helps calm my brain from the daily Trump fatigue.  Add that to the fact the Manafort trial begins in a month and we are getting closer to knowing the fate of the nation.  I have to believe the "treasoncunts" will get theirs soon.  Need Flynn to nail Prince and I will be happy.

Edit* Didn't know Flynn was that part of the team.  Cambridge, Stone, etc.

I also think Papadopoulos would cooperate and come back to testify if Mueller needs him. I didn't see how the Israel thing got resolved. Aside from that, it looked like Papadopoulos was genuinely contrite when he realized the scale of the collusion around him.

Flynn is a genuine sickbay though. The second Flynn is sentenced, he will be markedly less cooperative.

I typed shitbag with a typo and autocorrect apparently changed it to sickbay. It works, so I'm leaving it.

Not just Cambridge Analytica but also Kapersky Lab

He also had a connection to the late Peter Smith.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-peter-w-smith-death-met-0716-20170714-story,amp.html

"NO FOUL PLAY WHATSOEVER - ALL SELF INFLICTED," Smith's note read in part. "NO PARTY ASSISTED OR HAD KNOWLEDGE AS AN ACCOMPLICE BEFORE THE FACT."

The Journal reported it had seen emails written by Smith showing his team considered retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, then a top adviser to Trump's campaign, an ally. Flynn briefly was President Trump's national security adviser and resigned after it was determined he had failed to disclose contacts with Russia. Flynn's attorney declined to comment.

Mueller investigating Putin-linked Russian billionaires invited to private Trump inauguration parties: report

Now check this thread out and ponder how deep inside the WH the Russians are.  They are fucking running the joint:

2. To be precise, ABC News says Mueller is eyeing "Russians granted unusual access to Trump inauguration parties." And, hear it, they got the GUEST LIST. They asked Obama's inauguration party organizer if that was common and person was STUNNED to see the names in there.

3. Guess who one of these prominent, SANCTIONED, DIRECTLY tied to the Kremlin Russians was sitting next to, at the "Candlelight Dinner" in Washington's Union Station? MICHAEL COHEN. Game, set, match, Mueller and SDNY.

4. Please note this VERY important detail: the above mentioned dinner was "a perk for $1 mln contributors". So we have a slight problem here. Bc if the Russians did NOT pay the $1 mln then why were they granted access? Oh right, they did pay (illegally) AND they're Trump's masters

cont. - it gets better, if you like puking.

The head of the top congressional committee investigating Russian election interference says the panel has been in “weekly” contact with lawyers for former British spy Christopher Steele, the author of a dossier alleging years of links between President Donald Trump and the Kremlin.

“We’re still in conversation weekly,” North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told BuzzFeed News. Asked if Steele had provided any information to the committee, Burr said: “That continues to be the topic weekly.”

Burr said in October that the committee had “hit a wall” in its attempts to investigate the dossier’s explosive claims and that efforts to interview Steele had been unsuccessful. BuzzFeed News first published the dossier in January 2017 after security officials had briefed Trump and then-president Barack Obama about it.

Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, the committee’s vice chairman, said he was unsure whether the committee was in weekly contact with Steele’s attorneys. “I know that we are in communications and we obviously would like to get that hearing,” he told BuzzFeed News.

Warner said interviewing the former MI6 agent has been a priority for the committee, which started its investigation in early 2017. “We’ve had that goal obviously from the outset,” he said.

It’s unclear why the interview has failed to take place. Burr simply cited Steele’s “cooperation” as the reason. Warner, asked what is preventing the interview from happening, said: “It’s a good question, since there were indications earlier on at least through intermediaries that he was willing to have an interview.”

Indeed, NBC reported in October that Steele had expressed a willingness to speak with the committee and that special counsel Robert Mueller had already interviewed the former British spy.

Lawyers for Steele did not return a request for comment.

Burr said that despite failing to secure an interview with him, the committee has learned more about Steele and his firm, Orbis Business Intelligence. “I think that we know a lot more about not just him but his company and the array of clients that they had and how they operate,” he said. “I think this is much more comprehensive than anybody would think to begin with.”

Steele’s name has become a political flashpoint in Washington as lawmakers debate and probe the dossier’s claims. Orbis reportedly has an array of clients, including a firm representing Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska — which some Republican lawmakers have seized upon to question Steele’s work. Two GOP senators, Lindsey Graham and Chuck Grassley, have asked the Department of Justice and FBI to investigate Steele for allegedly making false statements.

But Steele has also counted the FBI among his clients on several occasions, notably helping the bureau take down high-ranking FIFA officials accused of corruption.

The dossier, composed of intelligence reports Steele — a Russia expert — compiled in the summer and fall of 2016, alleged that the Russians had been “cultivating, supporting and assisting” Trump for years. The dossier also alleged that the Russian government had compromising information on Trump. The dossier was funded in part by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

At a rare press conference in October, Burr said, “Though we have been incredibly enlightened at our ability to rebuild backwards the Steele dossier up to a certain date, getting past that point has been somewhat impossible." Burr said that he and Warner had offered to meet Steele privately or with the committee.

"The committee cannot really decide the credibility of the dossier without understanding things like who paid for it, who were your sources and sub-sources?" Burr said at the time. He also warned that the committee could “compel” key witnesses to testify if they refused to do so voluntarily.

But Burr acknowledged that the committee would have difficulty forcing Steele to be interviewed. “How do you do that?” Burr told BuzzFeed News. “[He’s] not a US citizen, doesn’t live here. We’re going to whatever lengths we can to get him [to testify].”

The NRA angle of this is finally getting some mainstream media attention.  The idea that the NRA was some kind of unwitting idiot who just happened to take Russian contributions is preposterous.  These fuckers have been running one of the most sophisticated campaigns in all of dark money politics for years.  They know exactly where their money comes from.  Burn in hell fuckers.  Ollie North as their current chairman is the cherry on top of the melting sundae of treason and shame.

https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/article214075459.html

The NRA, which spent $30 million-plus backing Trump’s bid, has heard nothing from the FBI or any other law enforcement agency, spokesman Andrew Arulanandam reiterated in an email the other day.

Legal experts, though, say there’s an easy explanation for that. They say it would be routine for Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators, who are looking at the NRA’s funding as part of a broader inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. elections, to secretly gain access to the NRA’s tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service.

On the returns, the group was required to identify its so-called “dark money” donors -- companies and wealthy individuals who financed $21 million of the group’s publicly disclosed pro-Trump spending, as well as its multimillion-dollar efforts to heighten voter turnout. The NRA’s nonprofit status allows it to shield those donors’ names from the public, but not the IRS.

Was pretty blitzed from Friday through yesterday.  Boozing on a boat in 95 degree heat with some unsavory women sounded like a great idea...I think there's enough evidence just from the weekend to do me in.  Much less than what Trump has from running in shady real estate circles for decades, but enough to convince me I'll never ask anyone to vote for me, for anything.
