Mickens not showing up would seem to be of interest.  If Brockemeyer skips our big event next year (not that he would) we would all be lighting our hair on fire.

Don't know if it's sour grapes or something else, but word is that the current A&M staff isn't high on him.

The headliners of the class being Hornsby and McGlothern would be quintessential Jimbo team building.

Jimbo's at the all you can eat churrascaria (State of Texas) and he's filling up on bread and salad - especially bread.  He's desperate to create the illusion of momentum around his 2020 recruiting trying to follow up on 2019.  But his strategy of offering early and often are no longer a surprise and he looks increasingly boxed in.

They're not bread, per se. They're like a death cap mushroom - taste great now (so talented!), kill you dead down the road (locker room poison!).

Go watch the hudl of those 4 Guards they have committed.  Akinola looks pretty good ( he plays in a flexbone/slot type offense so no pass pro ) but holy shit the other 3 are slow AF coming off the ball.

That's a good call.  The aggy visitor / commitment wish list has a lot of bread in it and I should have quoted that to make the point.  The guys you cites are definitely more in the bad 'shroom category.

Oh I just meant Hornsby and McGlothern, not the O-Line breadsticks. I clearly wasn't very clear.

They've been talking about the best way to cut bait with Jefferson for a while now.

Jimbo’s pushed a lot of guys off the team and doesn’t seem at all above trapdooring TX HS recruits. Will be interesting to see if he receives any backlash for it.

Counter-Point: No one gives a shit anymore.

There are good ways of handling things and bad ways of handling things. It also depends upon the situation. When Texas stopped communicating as fequently with Demaryion Houston, he realized he wasn't really a priority, and wanted to go to a place where he was wanted. He decommitted. Everyone was happy. Was that trapdooring? No. It's the modern way of recruiting. You can bitch & moan all you want, but everyone does it.

Now don't get me wrong, there are bad ways of doing it. If you have a kid committed and a couple weeks before signing day, you tell him he no longer has a spot, and he has to find landing place, that's fucked up. That's trapdooring, and people will be upset.

But if Aggy convinces their loaves of bread to find new homes way before NSD1, no one will care.

Like that Wake Forest RB that's tormented Louisville every time he's played them. It's nice when those stories have happy endings.

Demariyon Houston was a small school Oklahoma kid, and it's easier to drop out of state kids. At A&M, you probably don't want to do that at Texas schools, but Navasota is aggie country, so I doubt they'll get blackballed for dropping Jefferson

When Lindberg and Garth sign with the good guys, how does aggy spin it?

"Jimbo backed off"? " not SEC ready " or just ignore the fact that they made a run at them at all , like they did with half out commits in 2019.

Side note: my cell now autocompletes "SEC ready "  im so proud.

Even throwing cash around like crazy, dirty Tom couldn’t flip our all-guard line recruits. All they managed were some soft guys who, unlike first appearance, clearly don’t like getting their hands dirty.

"Lindberg and Garth must like 11 am games, playing in half empty stadiums, and not for the best dadgum OL coach in the country."

Aggys fans have their narrative (delusion) that Aggy puts a lot of OL in the league. I know it’s based on Sherman recruits, you know, the former NFL OL coach. But who was the last Aggy OL recruited by The Marine and put in the league?

He got hired Feb 2016, so he gets credit for 2017, 2018, 2019

Grayson Reed, Adrian Wolford, Dan Moore, Jared Hocker, Carson Green

Colton Blanton, Tank Jenkins, Luke Mathews, Barton Clement

Kenyon Green, Layden Robinson, Blake Trainor,

JFC. There's like what, one, maybe two OTs, in that entire group? Other than about 2 of those guys, all I see is

Blanton is Tackle all the way.  Still TBD on him.  Trainer looks like a JAG.

Dan Moore is playing Tackle, but he's a Guard most places.

Add in all those Guards for this class and it looks pretty bleak for Tackle's.
