Haven't bought a new dress watch since buying my current TAG 7 years ago, but I've had my eyes on a Pepsi Tudor for a while and planning to finally pull the trigger later this year.

I'd obviously rather have a Pepsi Rolex, but I've yet to achieve Surly 1% status.

Nice choice. The opaline dial is stunning, too

I like the one with Cola bezel black/red and gilt hands and indices.

I almost prefer the look of the bezel inserts over the ceramic bezels Rolex uses. Gives them a warmer, more vintage look. You can find nice pre-owned examples of these now well below $3k.

Completely agree. Tudor has been killing it the last 6 years or so. You’d be hard pressed to find better value in that price range these days.

The recent chatter made me go look at watchuseek and I'm a little surprised what you can get a pre owned Pepsi Tudor for right now.

The Black Bay Pro is scratching me where I itch too.

Any of you watch guys have strong opinions on Panerai?  i like them a lot but don't know anyone who has owned one.  i'm also really liking the look of the Seaholm submariner knockoff.  also like that it's an Austin business and a few folks I know say the founder is a good guy.  Any thoughts or experiences with Seaholm?

I designed the internal shock mount for Seaholm.  Haven't done anything with them since, but yes, the founder is a good guy.

Weird. Just out of undergrad I worked for a man who at the time was chair of the House Science Committee and chair of the subcommittee on space. He's deceased though.

IMO it’s tough to justify a Seaholm with a Sellita 200-1 movement for $2K when you can get a Christopher Ward with the same movement for half that. And in the case of their field watches get a certified chronometer movement.

Don't check out the Christopher Ward prices if you are buying from the US unless you want a jump scare. Tariffs bring what is a great value and well priced watch into a territory it can't compete in.

That and the fact that the Seaholm watches are ugly. I can’t get past the huge Seaholm text on the dial.

Hit a major milestone in my career and celebrated with a Rolex Rootbeer. Have been lusting after this for a few years and could finally justify it. I’m not a gold guy, but something about this watch just does it for me.

Is that a true Rootbeer?  I see the bezel yes, but the face looks black. Maybe the lighting?

I own one also.  The face is black, but this is the "new" root beer Rolex for the last 5 years or so.  Great watch but since I have had it for a few years now I am getting the itch for something new.

Ah. Got it. Like the new black face Hulk. Weird they aren’t giving the face option anymore. Just bezel.
