I’m cool with the Claire Danes stuff.

so funny story this girl (prettier than me) is kinda my doppelgänger. Met her standing in line in an airport. A few years back. Didn’t get a selfie (should have) with her but we both did a double take at each other. Other people did too. Cool story Nicole.

my flight for Austin is about to take off. Hoping to make the surly tailgate.

First picture is my doppelgänger lady. The below one is me. Shes way prettier but close up it was weird how similar our features and eye color and all that jazz was.

the thing that pisses me off about Sark the more I think about it is that he wanted to use Texas as a proving ground for his stupid fucking pro-style bullshit that cost us championships, and his goal was to get Texas good enough and then bolt to the NFL using Texas as his cleansing audition to finally distance his "new" self from his "old" self. now we can talk about his alleged off the field problems, but this in and of itself angers me to a boiling rage for two reasons.

1. Sark hasn't won jack shit here except a Big 12 title, and

2. Sark probably wanted to use Texas to get to the NFL from the get go.

And listen here assholes, nobody uses scramblyn like that and stays in my good graces.

Fuck Sark.

@Nicole44 gives me a Michelle Pfeiffer vibe where she can be nice and comforting and the next minute she’s airing out your dirty laundry and throwing your body in the lake. Claire Danes is too much of a crybaby and Nicole has never been whiny even when other posters give her shit.

I have no problem if Sark’s aspirational goals were to go to Texas to build his resume to go to the NFL. If he left us for the NFL it meant he was successful at Texas and he kept his past demons in check. That’s an outcome we all can root for. That’s not something to be resentful about, IMO.

I figure that most yall listened to the podcast from our fearless leader and RGB. The last six mins were interesting. Neither believes Sark will be back and they have more understanding of the money and shared revenue side of things than the majority of us do. Newy25 knows big money shit too. I just know personally the one BMD.

There is no good way to leave a school to take a job in the NFL or another school. Unless you go full on Lane Kiffin most people forget about the process in about five seconds.

Exactly.

I think most everyone wants him to conquer those and be successful no matter where.

I think it is hard for some people who don’t like the NFL, or don’t watch it, or don’t think it’s a better job than Texas to accept that a HC may think the NFL is better than ANY college HC job. Including Texas. What we think doesn’t factor into that. Period. There are HCs who believe the NFL is the pinnacle of their profession and what we think doesn’t factor at all.

That’s what makes everything such shit. There are very few who have someone in the wings to take over like Stoops to Lincoln. No one figured Lincoln betrays them exactly like he did though. The best way is to have a smooth transition with a HC waiting in the wings. Kiffin is acting like the peacock he’s always been. Do not want.

Fun thing about the SECrant thread.

They're less credulous of the rumors and basically laughing at us for a) indulging all the rumors and b) wanting to shitcan a coach that took us to the Final Four the last two years.

Think about that for a minute. SECrant.

I barely give any shits about what people on Surly think about my thoughts on the matter. There is a reason I've never opened SECrant. I truly couldn't give a single fuck about what the idiots on SECrant think about my feelings on Sark or internal issues at Texas. What's next, we gonna start concerning ourselves with the thought of the posters on Texags?

C'mon...He's got major programs throwing bucoo dinero at him left and right. How is he supposed to act?

IMO, he should just leverage these offers for more from Ole Miss, but maybe he's grown tired of backwoods MS. Of course, IDK if Baton Rouge is much of an "upgrade" having never spent time there, either. I have been to Gainesville, FL, and wasn't impressed by its locale.

I don't think most of us want to shit-can Sark if he's willing to sober up, stop fucking around, and make positive changes to his program by making coaching staff changes. The "yes men" he's surrounded himself with aren't holding him accountable. Maybe CDC should take charge, but he doesn't seem like a micro-manager.

One thing we can all be grateful for: what we fans or post on a message board won’t influence Sark’s job status.

If people are embarrassed bc we are talking about an over 50 year old man who brought this shit on himself and these people think we are embarrassing our program for being pissed that this man pissed away 2025–they can fuck off. We can be  pissed at him for once again pissing away yet ANOTHER fabulous opportunity.

At some point sark will run out of job opportunities to piss away and flame out of so maybe he shouldn’t take jobs if he cannot handle his own shit. And when his shit affects our team we have a right to be pissed off.

Maybe he needs retire and live on the beach. Maybe that will help? Because working nonstop since he got canned for drinking at USC hasn’t allowed him to relax and focus and do things in his personal life like R&R that  he doesn’t have time to do now.

“We're not mad about off-field shit because we're losing; we're losing because of off-field shit. You got the order of things reversed.“—Rimbo

it’s simple to me and to the legion of others that know about his off the field shit: it affects the season he got to go bc we have no assurances he can fix himself for 2026. None.

If people still want to believe this is  all a smear campaign or made up shit or coming out simply because we lost to Florida—Okeedokee,

most people refuse accept anyrhing they don’t want to hear without some video evidence or see him do something in person…I don’t know what to tell ya. I don’t have that kind of shit. Sorry.

Best predictor of future and present behavior is someone’s past. When they haven’t done the necessary work that many of us have to stay sober. we all root for him and for each other but if you want to stay sober you gotta hold yourself accountable.

And it’s a nice story I guess to believe that he’s been sober since 2016. Especially if people need to believe he is  for their own sobriety I understand. For me I don’t look at anyone else bc I cannot be around someone else I may admire 24/7. I don’t know what they do behind closed doors or whatever. I focus on the only thing I can control. Me. I don’t need to believe that Sark is sober to help me. I need to only believe that I can stay sober for ME.

I think your observation about the sentiment about many posters in this thread might be accurate, but I suspect there might be a number of silent observers that don't agree. Nicole and I have caught a lot of shit, me for my data and position, Nicole for her position and information. It's gotten pretty toxic at times and I think it's likely stopped a lot of people from commenting given those realities.

At this point there are really three primary questions. First, based on the off season choices Sark has made and the results we've seen on the field do you think Sark should be let go. Second/third, do you believe the rumors of behavior that lead to those choice and if so are those behaviors a reason to let Sark go. I'll note, I used "let Sark go" as a broad term for both firing for cause or strongly encouraging him to take a new job in the NFL or elsewhere.

That's what is the core of the discussion. I only have my thoughts and I've expressed I am pretty confident Sark is not returning. Mostly because I think the behaviors led to the choices and results, and I'm not okay with either.

Now, there are some big games going so I'm moving on to those.

I think most of us feel the way I do because we're afraid of making a bad hire and aren't high enough up the totem pole to influence the decision-making. But, we will have viable options who can't possibly do worse off the field. In answer to your questions, assuming the rumors are true;

  1. Yes
  2. Yes
  3. Yes

Gonna be one hell of an offseason. Go Mizzou!

Yep, we mostly agree. I addressed the fear of change aspect, and its not unfounded. I just think the possible upside greatly outweighs the risk involved vs status quo.
