Duke being in contention for a 2 seed is an absolute joke. It's literally only because it's K's last season.

And, I think, because there are a ton of teams that keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Georgetown lost to DePaul last night for its 17th straight defeat. The Hoyas are 6-21 overall  and 0-16 in Big East play. They have three conference games remaining, #21 UConn (20-7) tomorrow, Seton Hall (17-9) Wednesday and Xavier (17-10) next Saturday.

Good slate of games, debated about driving over to Syracuse but don’t care enough about either to do it.  Besides, it’s Syracuse armpit of USNY.

This pisses me off.  SMU has beaten Memphis twice, and is 1.5 games ahead of them in conference.  WTF?

Someone also needs to explain to me how UH and Kansas are both 23-4, but UH is ranked ahead of KU in the Net rankings.  How?

There is no fucking reason to save your timeouts in NCAA basketball, because either the other coach or the refs will call a TO if you need one.

Purdue calls their last timeout with 30ish seconds to go.  MSU hits a 3 with 1.1 seconds left.  Purdue's players are running around lost, trying to figure out how to get the ball in and get a decent shot.  <whistle> Refs decide to review the clock.  Purdue goes to bench and gets a play drawn up, while refs decide clock should show 1.4.  They line up for a play, and Izzo calls a TO.  Purdue throws the ball away, so it seems to be over with 0.4 seconds left.  MSU somehow manages to throw the ball OOB on inbound, so clock doesn't move and Purdue has the ball in the frontcourt, but still doesn't have a TO.  No problem, the refs give them another free TO by spending a loooooooooong time reviewing the play.  Purdue finally fucks it up and the game ends.

So unbelievably fucking maddening.

Memphis over SMU is a fucking joke. We kicked their dicks in last weekend at home and beat them on the road.

But I've just come to expect getting hosed by the NCAA.

It has literally been 40+ fucking years (1981) since the NCAA eliminated jump balls on simultaneous possession, yet most announcers still say "jump ball" when there is a held ball situation.  I hear guys who were born after 1981 saying "jump ball."

How long is this going to continue?

Illinois is one of the most confusing teams in the country. Some nights they look like a final 4 team and other nights they look a CBI team.

But I guess that's everyone outside of a few teams.

Great point...  SEC sure is a tough league right now.  Interesting comparison of Sec/B10/B12

  1. Kentucky...     Purdue...        Kansas
  2. Auburn...        Wisconsin...    baylor
  3. Tennessee...  Illinois...          Tech
  4. Arkansas...     Ohio St...        Texas
  5. Alabama...      Iowa...             Iowa St

His current look reminds me of Mickey Rourke's sleazy lawyer character (Bruiser Stone) from The Rainmaker, but with more cheeseburgers, so we're on the same page.

The big difference is that both the B10 (Neb, Minn) and SEC (Ole Miss, UGa) have teams at the bottom who can't beat anyone.

WVU's NET ranking is better than 5 SEC teams and 6 B10 teams.

Oh I agree... just gonna be interesting to watch how well these 3 conferences (Sec/B10/B12) perform in the NCAA Tournament this year.  Lots of parity when you look at the Top 5 teams in these 3 conferences...

  1. Kentucky...     Purdue...        Kansas
  2. Auburn...        Wisconsin...    baylor
