2022 Starting QB bet

He's missed quite a few routine open deep balls when he had time to make the throw, which would have broken those games open. He's also thrown some terrible interceptions when he had the option to not throw the terrible interceptions. He also at times misses seeing receivers breaking open on shorter routes
I'm not sure why he's comparable to Hurts considering he's not nearly the athlete
We have other issue outside of Casey, but that doesn't excuse Casey's at times poor play. I think there are quite a few QBs out there who'd have this team at a better record.
So has every QB we've had since Colt if we're honest. Not saying Casey is one of the better QB's we've had since 2010, (David Ash, Sam and at times even Case McCoy were better overall) but he's far from garbage..and the better option this year vs Card. CTJ may win his bet if Sark snags a 5* QB out of the portal, but I wouldnt be terribly shocked if one of the two now on campus starts against ULM next year.

Then prepare for another shitty season, because this team can't move forward with a QB that makes his teammates worse.

Lol wut. You’re really exaggerating the state of our current offense. We might have the best two skill players in the whole country and we have a couch who schemes a lot of open throws for Casey. Our O has issues, but they’re not near as bad as you’re making them out to be.
and your comparison…good Lord. Casey has a noodle arm, Hurts has a cannon and Hurts is an elite runner with the size to carry it 15+ times per game. The two are not similar.

Did I say Casey had the same kind of arm as Hurts? Hurts sounds really good, why would an elite QB like that lose his job and hit the portal? It's not a direct comparison of size, strength and speed...but game manager QB that isnt going to elevate a poor supporting cast to win games against similar competition.

Just wanted to ask why you are certain about this. Like I pointed out the worst QB performance of the year based on QBR was put up by Casey vs OSU at home with Bijan running for 137 yards. Card put up the 2nd worst QBR at ARkansas on the road in an extremely hostile environment and Bijan getting completely shut down.  One player is significantly younger than the other and possess far more arm talent. Card actually has a higher QBR than Casey on the season.  I will be the first to admit I do not know if that was a singular learning experience from Card or that was a fatal flaw being exposed. I tend to think there is a very good chance the starting QB next year is not on the roster, because I am not convinced that either Card or Casey is the answer. That said why are you certain that Casey is the better option?

Because they guy that took his job was a future top 5 NFL draft pick?  You are digging yourself a hole.   Casey may be the best option on this current roster but we are all seeing exactly why he wasn't named the starter in camp with his play the last 5 games.

Yeah if the coaches thought Card had a future, Casey would have been replaced by now. Even against Rice and Tech, Card looked hesitant in his reads and decisions.

We beat a TCU team missing about a third of its starters despite Casey's shitty play. We beat OSU if he doesn't throw the pick-six. He's missed open deep balls in each loss that he started. He doesn't see guys who are open all over the field because he locks onto one player before the snap, and doesn't find other players unless he bails from the pocket and runs around, which defeats the purpose of Sark's offense which schemes guys open all over the field that a decent pocket passer with a decent arm should be able to find in his sleep.

seems he's had quite a few intentional grounding calls as well

I’m putting $20 on Jake from State Farm!   It’s at the point we are so incompetent at qb that there’s no light at the end of the tunnel anymore.  A question we should be asking is who’s starting at oline next year?  We currently have 2 recruits at oline for next year a three star and a four star….   Does it really matter who starts at qb?  Our lines will be subpar on both sides of the bar for the foreseeable future so who cares.  It’s just depressing.

Who knows and who cares!? Lol. If Sark could get players I think he would be ok, but he’s not focused near enough on the line.  So it doesn’t matter and nothing will change.
