Clark's not wrong.

Quote

"I mean, it’s a little ridiculous we teed off that late," Clark said. "I would say right around hole 15 or 16 it started getting to where you couldn't see that well. I mean, I don't personally understand why we teed off — we played twilight golf.

This course and leaderboard shapes up for what should be an awesome finish. If any of the guys in groups 2-4 goes out in 29 like Kim did yesterday and either Clark or Fowler don't take advantage of the early scoring holes things should get really interesting. Fowler is having the tournament of his life--primarily with his putter--but can he keep it going for 18 more holes? Personally I like Rory or Scottie to take it with Xander the dark horse. That 73 yesterday was costly.

Could you imagine having to suspend a playoff due to darkness because you just had to tee off late to get the back 9 in prime time for the eastern half of the country?

the 1 hour earlier start probably eliminates that but it’s still going to finish pretty late. The earlier guys are still playing for their payday and won’t be hitting it on the trot.

I didn’t realize that Sam Bennett shot a 79 yesterday. Ouch.

Every time he runs his mouth he shits the bed. He said Augusta National wasn't any harder than the US amateur and then dropped way down the leaderboard, before yesterdays round he said he felt like he belonged on tour and shoots a 79.

Perfect aggy

Yeah but this course is awesome!

The course is awesome.  It’s on a lot of top 20 in the country lists.  It’s a great club too.  They rarely, if ever, let in entertainment industry people.  That’s a huge plus.  It’s a bunch of lawyers, doctors, bankers, etc., that love golf.  I was fortunate to play it in 2016 and it’s an amazing place.

I mean in the context of where we should be playing US Opens.

It could be Augusta West and it wouldn't matter if they can't get more fans between the ropes.

Yes, I get the point.  I don’t particularly care about the gallery.  I just want to see good golf.  The course played easier this week for a couple of reasons but it’s still a great venue.  I’m loving it.

Yeah the wide fairways, terrible Thursday set-up, lack of tickets for normal fans, and stupid late tee times have really hurt this US Open.

I just can't respect the two 62's shot in the opening round...

This has not been a good venue for golf fans wanting to attend "The US Open"
