albert brooks doc on hbomax, by rob reiner

Really good documentary, and I’m glad Reiner touched on the absurdity of the name “Albert Einstein” and the legendary tale of the passing of Parkyakarkus.

I also watched Defending Your Life the other day (I think the NYT prompted me with a blurb). The doc led me to Modern Romance, which I’ve never seen before. Found it on Tubi, which may actually have some worthwhile content (I’ve never tried it before). I watched a few minutes late at night to see if I wanted to continue, and I’ll finish it soon. Cringe-inducing relationship self-destruction is a theme with which the younger Vito can identify.

If you haven't seen Modern Romance, it has his two greatest set pieces - buying running equipment from his brother, Super Dave, and the space special effects running sequence.  It was my introduction to hm and remains my favorite.
