Scottie takes a week off and Xander is trying to make another elevated event boring.

The real question is Meredith going to hold out until after the PGA to drop that kiddo on the world, or is Scottie going to skip the Louisville major?
All that drama in Augusta, and now a month later Scottie Jr. still waiting to hatch

2 things -

a) did Rory send a message, or peak a week too early (shot his wad at Quail Hollow)?
b) Congrats to new dad Scottie - hoping he can make a run at the PGA and add true excitement into this season.

x) would love to see Jordan somehow put together a week, compete and get some excitement into the PGA Championship about his career slam

I mean he just dominates that course... that's his 4th win there. It was his first win on Tour at 20 y/o. Then set the to par record in 2015 which still stands and won by 7 strokes.

He also won the last PGA at Valhalla which was his last major win. He and Scottie should be the prohibitive favorites.

Part of me thought he might be within striking distance after 2. Then the weekend didn’t go so well, and Sunday was not bueno.

Jordan’s biggest hurdle seems to be the head game, and keeping it together for 4 rounds.

I feel for him. He knows what he’s capable of, but something isn’t clicking.

He doesn't hit the ball well enough

Jordan went chasing distance and the rest of his game fell apart.  his best year was 2015.  5 wins, including the first two majors (plus T4 at the Open and second at the PGA).  he averaged 291.8 off the tee.

the next two seasons, he had 5 combined wins and was hitting drives a little over 295 yards.

then he wanted to get to 300 yards off the tee. which he has done, but his game has suffered.  it's not a coincidence.  fairways hit has gone down as he has gotten longer, which puts a strain on everything else.  and that exacerbates the headcase displays with Greller.

I'm not sure why Jordan was chasing distance. You shouldn't chase distance. You should chase hitting the ball out of the middle of the clubhead. When you do that, the ball goes further. Jordan doesn't do that nearly enough. His swing is just.....not good to watch. Never has been. There's nothing about it where he's making it easy for himself to repeat it. He got away with it for a long time. He has to change to become a more consistent ball striker because that putter is done bailing him out.

Now Rory is partying in the tent and singing Journey?  Something is going on.

I doubt it came with any surprise. Maybe that’s why he’s been super focused the last couple of weeks.

Guess we’ll know by the weekend.

ETA: hope he has a prenup.
