This track scares me a little bit. Once they get one tire off the track and into the grass they just become passengers.

Terrible for Ferrari. That’s bad.

Well done by Williams in Q2.

I find myself still cheering for Gasly & Albon as well.

The wrecks by Yuki and Colapinto were not pleasant to watch.

EDIT: And well done by Aston. For all the shit they have had to swallow this season that was a nice job.

Lewis: "Sorry guys, I can't improve for some reason."

Gee Lewis, I wonder what you think the reason is. [cough] red shitbox [cough]

Idk man, maybe he's just getting cooked?

George beat him 24-6 last year and getting beaten 6-3 by leclerc.

Thats all in h2h with a two second google so not perfect

What car does he end the season in?

I was going to add, but got distracted, that he is making a lot of "future money" this season.

The way things go your assumption could be spot on about him getting into a different seat by the end of October.

Put me down for “more grass and gravel.” Doubt we hear about track limits tomorrow. And ditto RE Gasly & Albon.

More evidence Piastri is a future WDC. Dude is damn quick and seems so steady emotionally; win or lose he’s exactly the same. And has there been a better driver decision than dumping Alpine for McLaren?

Agreed,  there is nothing wrong with a track that punishes them for not staying on track.

Why paint the damn lines and far better than someone cutting a corner, we get 5 minutes of drivers whining about giving back positions, and then stewards have to make a decision.

Much simpler, cut the corner, catch the grass and go sideways or spin out in the gravel and get buried and your race is over for today.

A damn site better and far better to watch on television than from some parking lot.

Hard to say on either...

Merc wasn't trying to improve his car. They knew he was leaving so the focus was on George for last year and this.

Flip to Ferrari... the car is ass and he's less than a season in the seat. LeClerc should be way ahead in terms of car, team, driver dynamics.

The video is only conjecture, but highly educated conjecture from the one former McLaren engineer and I enjoy this type of talk far better than the water bottle theory.

Skip to the 5 minute mark if you want to avoid the repeating of McLaren has a secret and Red Bull is calling them cheaters diatribe.

Off camera, there is just no world where Red Bull sees Yuki as their second driver for years to come. He's just the stop gap until they find someone else. I doubt they'd move Hadjar up in season with only a few races under his belt, but who knows.

The focusing on George isn't why he got demolished 24-6, come on. If that's the case it's more of the Mercedes that won the WDCs than Lewis, which is a long term sore spot for his fans.

Everyone knows the car is more important than the driver... winning 7x means the driver is good in a good car.

Mercedes was not good enough to win WDC and the team was absolutely focused on George, as they should have been.

Just like Ferrari is not good enough to win WDC and LeClerc is their #1.

None of this diminishes anyone's accomplishments.

Holy shit - Oscar let him through instead of plowing into him due to Max’s constant late breaking.

Bill Murray Ok GIF

It's okay to occasionally give him credit when he absolutely deserves it.

this undercut is not working at all.

Even with Yuki completely whiffing on slowing down Oscar.

Speaking of things that will lose you the #2 seat at Red Bull.

Clean air is too big of an advantage.  Max and Norris both have it and they were able to stretch the mediums a lot more with it.

Why do teams still hold up physical lap/gap times signs at the start/finish line? That's not all handled either over radio or on the steering wheel display?

Watching replay - you’re correct. Great move.

It was a great move, but Oscar still left the door wide open. For whatever reason, he seemed more concerned about George than Max there. He had room to move over.

Combo of a great move from Max and terrible braking from Oscar. Both had to happen for that swap to occur. Even George was baffled by Oscar.

Entertaining race, I enjoyed it.

From lol to wow for Ferrari. Not sure what they did but much more speed in the race

Damn Mercedes, cars just didn't have it today. Hopefully just a one race blip and they can be back next week.

Hats off to Williams, from bringing up the rear to two top 10's they've come a long way

Incredible pass by Max at the start and also has a fucking horseshoe up his ass. Couldn't have scripted the yellow flags any better.

The VSC was fortuitous but the actual safety took away his huge lead and could have made the finish dicey.

Don't think it was going to matter today. Max had Oscar covered by 4+ seconds if he had to pit under green, and his hards would have been 20 laps fresher than his on what would have been a one stop race had there been no flags.

Even when Lando inevitably passed Oscar after the safety car restart, he couldn't gain any ground to Max, even with fresh air.

The race was won between Friday and the point where Max passed Oscar.  Red Bull did an incredible job changing something to go from what was seen in practice on Friday and today on the track.  The pass by Max was a great move coupled by Oscar being WAY too tentative.  Hoping he learns from today and applies next week because Monaco is more of the same.

With that being said,  the Red Bull driven by Max was the fastest car today. You could see it after the re-start when he absolutely ran away and hid from the two McLarens.  i am not smart enough to know whether this is a the case of improvements made by Red Bull or if this track fits Max and the Red Bull really well as he has now won 4 in a row at Imola.

Great day for Ferrari,  can Charles possibly be anymore morose?  Lando is whiny, George a wanker,  and everything with Charles is so damn dour.  Ferrari needs to replace his race engineer with  a sports psychologist.

Great weekend for Williams and a great drive for Alex (currently 8th in drivers' points).  Also a good weekend for Carlos and Williams is clearly having the best year of the teams outside the big four.

WTF happened to the Astons in the second half of the race?

These next two weekends should be interesting with a similar race next week and then a more open circuit in Spain.
