@CoachTex Here's the map. Looks like the yellow tram line will take you over to T11. It goes by 9 as well, but it doesn't look like you'd be able to enter there. Looks like maybe you can enter near T7, which might be a slightly shorter walk.

Looks like maybe you can no longer walk around T20 to get to and from the Main GS and the Grand Plaza. That's really gonna suck for a lot of people.

You can’t because it’s all cota land construction. It does make an impact so you either have to use trams or walk a long way

Yep. Gonna put even more people on those bridges, too, esp the T16 bridge ... as if they weren't already crowded af. And of course now Bobby has found another way to force more people through the Grand Plaza to buy shit & make it look  more crowded for TV. But hey, fans, shmans.

I walk across the bridge to the infield and through the tunnel pretty regularly.  It's a bit longer but not terrible.

However, if that's the ONLY way to go, then it becomes more problematic.

On Friday it shouldn't be terrible, and on Sunday I don't bother walking around, I just hang out at the T12 hospitality tent and then get to my seats in T15.

Saturday could be an issue.

I read somehwere there were a couple others, I think Turn 19 and 4 upper rows. Is that wrong?

I think I saw somewhere that they added shading to some of the GSs also. Haven't looked into it though, as to what rows it would cover, how much more it will cost (it will make an already expensive GS seat more expensive. That much you can count on).

Be advised that if you sit in the T12 GS, you're gonna cook, even if they cover it. It faces south.

Could be they added shade in some places?   I don't know.  Not in my seats in T15, they're down in the middle of the wall of grandstands.

Honestly on Friday you probably don't need to worry too much about shade while watching the on-track events, because sadly there just aren't many of them.  An hour for FP1, 30 minutes for Porsche Carrera Cup practice, and then 45 minutes for F1 Sprint Qualifying.  I wouldn't bother with paying extra for shaded seats, I'd just watch all of those from wherever you like, and duck into the tents or other shaded areas when there's nothing happening on track-- which will be most of the day.

Oh I think I see what you mean now. So there are enough shaded tents you can hang out in without track views, there just isn't much shade while watching the cars?

Yeah the lack of support races is pretty shitty. Weakest weekend schedule yet for the USGP ... but the line dance lessons, low level Lucha Libre, and loads of bands we've never heard of make it all good. : /

Yes, for sure on the lack of shade whilst watching on-track action.

As far as non-track shade, I'm not sure I'd say there is "enough", especially not on Saturday and Sunday.  But there is certainly "some."  And on Friday it's generally less crowded all around.  On Saturday it's nice to find one of the tents with TVs, they often have college football on.  And on Sunday, everything is a shitshow.  We usually stay close to our seats and just sit down well ahead of time.

Yeah I don't recall there ever being only one support series.  It's bad.

There are some tents, but there are only going to be enough to shade a small portion of attendees. I just looked it up on their website, and they've added some shade on the T4 and T19 grandstands. The only other shade will be in the Main grandstand and in hospitality/VIP areas.

Yep. Pretty sure there have always been at least 2, and most years 3. The guys on Autosport say this is the only race this year with only one support series. And maybe Vegas too. Every other race this year has at least 2 support series and 4 support races. Most have 3 or more support series & 6 or more support races. Australia had 4 or 5 support series with at least 11 support races this year (including multiple V8SC races, F2, & F3), and cost much less.

My buddy sent me a photo he took with Valtteri this morning at a free MyCanyon bike event  he had on S. 1st. I couldn't go because of a dental appt, and my boys wanted to go but had work and classes. Looked like it was aight. Apparently VB was giving people mullet haircuts after the ride, so they got that goin' for 'em. There's also an AM/Glenfiddich event sometime Saturday. You have to register and then you might get lucky and be sent an invite.
