He’s talking about concepts of a rescue.

This is a worthless presser, a photo op, political, and disgusting.
Im sorry.

Kids are missing. We need answers.

This isn’t political I’d be pissed either side.

The presser is on live on Fox 7 Austin right now. They will be providing more information right now. I do realize much of it will be tragic still praying for some good news.

The sheriff says right now they have all the resources they need. They have 24 fatalities and are still updating next of kin.

the sheriff said they will work around the clock until all missing are found. Mayor is speaking now.

I have no recourse but to assume that many of these 11 fatalities up from 13 earlier today are those campers. Fuck a duck.

Back to not knowing. The person I got this report from said she just heard from the aunt of one of the girl’s my friend’s daughter was with is confirmed dead. They play tennis together.

Fuck me.

Now hearing their entire cabin is gone. What that means, I don’t know. Jesus.

I can’t even. In July. Not a drop of rain is supposed to fall let  alone a fucking life threatening flood. So ill. Ugh.

Based on the information I have been gathering you can expect about 18 campers (not sure if that is plus a counselor or two or includes that number)

God damnit.
the number for camp mystic is according to sheriff between 23-25 for missing,

Greg Abbot distracting people talking about God instead of giving answer.

Shut the fuck up and tell us WTF the state is doing and who’s missing and the kids.

Has he said it “coulda been worse” yet?

I fear the worst at this point. I can’t imagine.

Praying for a miracle.

No.

But there’s a weird amount of saying that ‘no one could have predicted this’

The political folks out here doing cya.

DPS and the National Guard and Sheriff the only ones giving answer real answers.

They were too busy patting each other on the back. This almost seems like their primary purpose of this PC is to establish a narrative that every action taken was as good as it could be.

Whoa, this guy is talking about a "risk" of evacuating people to higher ground.

evacuate to high ground and wait for rescue is the best move imo

lot of low water crossings

It’s all we can do until we are needed for other things. I keep telling myself that these kiddos can swim. Hell when I was a camp counselor at Waldemar and taught swimming these kids mostly 8 age range were better swimmers than those older than them. They have been in the Guadeloupe and I keep praying for a miracle even though we all know what the wall of water and flooding means I keep hope alive. Praying for a miracle.

Out of this entire debacle of a presser the only real person has been the mayor of Kerrville. He didn't say much but he was devastated at the first presser and was the same tonight.  I feel for him.

I don't feel much for the other people in front of the cameras right now.

If that’s a the “top” of your neighborhood how far below that are you, sir?
At least a mile on top of a hill. The desire to be on top of a hill is why we left Houston.

I get why they were all there. And I get why the governor of any state needs to be there at least asap. But only let the locals talk and those who can give the best information. No matter the state or the governor of said state.

it looks like after about 2-3 am everything is popping back up over us like a mofo and not so badly over the areas needed for search and rescue. So this is good.

That's obvious CYA.  They all had the same talking point on that.  Very poorly disguised.

They had warning and no one took it seriously.  That County Judge's response to being questioned on that earlier was about as bad of one as he could have given.

Kerr Co judges and officials are as incompetent as they are corrupt.

Yes, there's a reason said judge was nowhere near tonight's presser.

Yeah the forecasts were very ominous by some and should have been taken as a “get out” kind of thing prior to. I’m all about preemption. I remember people getting pissed back in the day bc of a snow day being called when I guess it was not that bad. This was a wall of water catastrophic event on a holiday! But no one would have given a fuck had they evacuated every camp prior last night before 10 pm.

Guaranteed.

If I had spent a week trying to script a worse response than the one he gave I couldn't have done it.

Getting ‘we didn’t want to evacuate’ because that’s not good for July 4th business vibes

Or maybe it was simpler and they got lazy, the National weather service isn’t what it once was, and simple ineptitude.

I hate to go there but… Mystic‘s buildings are very low laying. Between the road and the river. There’s no hill, maybe a slight rise. Their neighbor Mo Ranch has their girls’ dorm on top of a hill. I get it. Walking up a hill a couple times a days a bitch, but there’s precedent for putting buildings up high.
