I thought St Louis was the capital (or some other similar bullshit self-designated honorific) of US Soccer. Great job coming out in support of the home team. It’s fucking 80-20 Guatemala fans

Haha this made me laugh.

We've got this, guys. I know my team. We're gonna hold.

I love how much Poch looks like he gives a shit.

I don't think we have the right pool to make a bunch of noise in '26 but we definitely have a good coach for the first time in awhile.

Fuck yes. USA in the Gold Cup Final in H-town.

We're going to have a nice crowd advantage. There aren't any Hondurans or Mexicans in Houston.

At least we don’t claim to be the capital of US Soccer and shit the bed by allowing an 80-20 split of Guatemalan fans to US in a 20,000 seat stadium. It’s expected that the US will be at a decided home field disadvantage against any Latin American squad at NRG.

We'll see. Depth isn't bad. I just worry about Luna against more physical D and as a defender himself. Guatemala is a favorable matchup for him b/c of their lack of size.

McKennie has a fuckton more experience against elite players.

I’ll take Luna’s energy and passion over McKennie’s apathy and blubber

Best of both worlds is the competition puts a fire under McKennies ass, I’m pessimistic and guess he turtles

I went from wondering what the hell some of y'all were talking about when Luna first arrived to him being my favorite player.

Absolute stud - Luna

Good - Tillman, Richards

OK - Ream, Adams

Not great, Bob - Freeman, Berhalter, Freeze

Please, no more - Arfsten, Abyemang

Who? - LDLT

That was not a Guatemalan team of old. They were not dirty and played some pretty good soccer at times. All their American born players had an impact on the game.  The floor of CONCACAF is rising which is good.

I’m very concerned how tired this roster looks. I know this is their 5th game, but damn they are struggling at the end of games. I do not feel good at all going up against Mexico.

I'll take McKennie's 6,000 minutes for Juve over the past 2 years but maybe I'm out of touch. I should probably be talking more unfounded shit about guys like him and Pulisic - who - if any of you want to compete in 2026 - will need to play major minutes for us.

I already said that Luna deserves a roster spot and minutes in '26. I fucking love the guy. He also didn't just start the entire season for the 4th best team in Italy.

You can't project Gold Cup results all that much to what it would take to make a World Cup run. Berhalter won this tournament with a B/C team pretty recently and we looked great at times while doing it.

Tillman has been our best player imo. He is easily on whatever first tier you have there.

So much this.  B team results against concacaf scrubs don't mean shit.

Final tickets running around $150 including fees for nosebleeds as I type with no score in the other semi.  Expect they’ll go up bigly if Mexico wins. No idea on Honduras.

Too beaucoup for me. I’ll keep an eye on it and see if they ease up before the game though.

Luna has the makings a guy who is an ace for a national team, but pro career ceiling might be the eredivisie.   But that hamster is fun as hell to watch for the Nats.

Has Luna ever had interest from Europe? I heard on the halftime show that he was playing USL 3 years ago. Pretty crazy he’s now leading us to the final of the gold cup.

Agreed.  Thats really why club pedigree shouldn’t be the end all, be all criteria for a short schedule tournament national team.

When were they not doing that?

The Copa America, qualifying for the last World Cup based on fucking goal differential, last nations league, and on and on.   They’ve sucked ass.  Bunch of 1-0 merchants, that thankfully lead to shitty GGG getting fired.

Right. Under the last coach.

Spare me the bullshit with how much everyone here wanted Greg fired. All all of you complained about for years was the fucking coach. When there were obviously other issues.

Now it's the players?

Okay.

Make your mind up.

Amazing what having the lead against a team will do. Force them to play and go for it. Funny, their goal to make it 2-1 kept them even more honest because they had to keep playing for the goal and tying it up.

Like everyone here - on the Luna train. Tillman has been a handful for everyone out there. I’m not sure why the Aaronsons aren’t seeing more time.

But what I like is that I’m seeing fire and energy that the Nats have been lacking for a long ass time. And it it takes the second team to have it - great.

GGG was ok first cycle, never should’ve been given a second cycle and yes anyone with common sense wanted that turd flushed. .   That’s certainly part of the problem, but Pulisic and his gang of too good for everything are a big issue too.  They’ve sucked ass for a couple years.   I’ll root like hell for them (when they want to actually put effort into the Nats) but they often come across as charmin soft

Maybe the issue is what some of us have said - Gregg coddled these guys and the result was them getting soft.

Gregg got fired - damn right I’m happy. Now the players have it on them. And give me guys that want to play for the Crest not take a summer off.

These are embarrassing fucking takes for anyone claiming to be a fan of the NT.

Y'all need to check your cynicism at the door a bit and learn how to appreciate greatness when it decides to put the shirt on.

I mean I'm honestly shocked to see y'all say shit like this in here.

Let's just keep Pulisic and McKennie off the team in '26 because y'all have online opinions and think that they don't care.

What the fuck are you fucking idiots talking about?
