Well obviously the people who made this list disagree with you. So who is the best returning RB in the league then?

I like his YT channel since OTF introduced me to him. His presentation, personality, and such make for a great YT personality for a “film guy”

Austin is a Georgia guy and I do appreciate him calling out the bullshit from all the other UGA 9.95s. He definitely is a ball don’t lie kind of guy and acknowledges what Sark and Texas are doing.

According to this Film Guy on minute 21, Arch was pretty much ready to take reign of the offense.  I do think Sark knew too but he felt responsible for Quinn and wanted him to finish the season and get him drafted.  However, who knows what could have been had Arch taken reign for the remainder of last season.

If Sark screwed over the entire Texas team and entire fanbase/alumni base over the priority of 1 player then he's a pretty sorry coach. I guess we'll find out in a little over a month given who the opponent is.

Now I know you are just trolling if you are claiming sports writers are the definitive authority. I love what Wisner did for Texas but you are crazy if you would not trade him for Caden Durham, Nate Frazier or Jaden Baugh right now.

I believe Arch had a chance to take over if he performed well in the 1st Half of the UGA game @ DKR.

But he struggled too. Sark knew we could win with Ewers for the remaining games, so he stuck with him.

Huge fan of Baugh

I’m not sure Texas beats Ohio state with Arch - coulda happened. And if R Wingo isn’t shoe string tackled and the defense and PK didn’t stroke out the last play of the first half Texas wins with Quinn. Texas wins it all with those two play reversals imo. Same with year before one lazy route and throw at the end of the Wash game from a great matchup with Michigan. Arch gets the ball against those teams you can’t assume he plays like he did against Miss State. His upside is HUGE but the experience differential last year was huge as well.

I think it’s the evolution of the program from out right losers, to kinda winners, to winners almost all of the time, to on the doorstep of championships, and next up is conference and national titles.

Lots of ifs and buts so who the fuck knows. Oh wait. SURLY KNOWS!

It’s a preseason list, he out produced all those guys last year. Is what it is and that’s why he was selected there.

I do my absolute best not to pile in on painful loss convos, but for me the what ifs in that game are the screen play to end the half, Gunner Helm getting a taunting penalty for pointing at Caleb Downs, and Wingo blocking the wrong guy on the pitch TFL (I'm pretty sure that's what happened)

Cannot underestimate Wingo scores early on a massive play if he’s not tackled by the shoe (no pun intended).

They showed the Texas-ASU playoff game on the SEC Network last night. Goddamn Bert Auburn was a fucking disaster. So glad he left

It took you until the ASU game to finally acknowledge Auburn fucking sucks?

Sark stuck with Quinn because of loyalty. Yeah, it sucks, but it is what it is. I have no idea if Arch beats Ohio State, but Sark is loyal to a fault, clearly. If Quinn could move his concrete feet and feel the pressure, his old roommate wouldn't have given him a wedgie to Seal the game. I do believe the game would have at the very least been tied if Arch were playing.

Of course. But at what point does he stop his loyalty for a moment and go with who he thinks can win the game, rather than giving said player chance after chance.

This isn't necessarily about Quinn, it's not his fault, but we live in a what-if Arch had started? Ohio State wasn't ready for that. They didn't prepare for Arch. Same thing that happened to us against Gunnar Stockton.

At the end of the day it is what it is, but you can't help but wonder.

Just to edit: He doesn't seem to have any issues pulling players from  his circle of trust with WR's or RBs.

we don't live in a what-if moment, everyone has already determined the absolute conclusion. arch wins the national championship last year based on his play against CSU and MSU.

I knew it was going to be rough when he missed that chip shot by 20 yards vs Michigan

Do you believe Saban would have continued to play Quinn post injury/post the stretch of ass games he had toward the end of the season?

What-if scenarios are pointless—they typically just serve to reinforce someone’s subjective opinion or argument.

Spoiler

Unless that what-if is Colt not getting hurt. Objectively Texas wins that game if Colt is healthy.

I don't give a flying fuck about what Nick Saban would do.  He's a pansy in game when things go south.  Sark isn't.  Every coach has their strengths and weaknesses.  "Loyalty" isn't necessarily a weakness, it helps build trust.

You people should know better, but apparently I'm overestimating you.  It's a giant amalgamation of personalities, tendencies, strategies, tactics, finance, charisma, you name it, but you diptshits zero in on one thing that you don't even know is true and decide "well, that fucked us".  Grow up.

sure and I don't really want to argue but you said, "He's a pansy in game when things go south.  Sark isn't." and yeah, sark can be a pansy in tight games. he panics, he does weird shit. some times he presses, some times he turtle shells. he's not some big balled gamer every time it gets tight.  this actual goes to the point of a freshman QB in a big game, sark gonna sark too in that situation.

I've never seen a legendary coach get as prickly as Saban in the game where Colt got hurt.  He absolutely knew his team was about to get throttled and he could not handle it.  I haven't seen Sark do that, and certainly not in the first half.  Saban shit himself and got bailed out by his left end.  History changed at that moment.

Yeah but he’s not considered a wr or rb guru. That mess with Gunnar Stockton is on PKs dumb ass. That fucking fake punt when the punter got his knee caved in was on Banks.

that was at the beginning of his run. I think he calmed down quite a bit after that. well I mean he still did ragey things when players fucked up but hey shit happens.

I’d much rather break Arch in with the team that was suiting up around him last season. Ton of experience on the OL, Banks at LT, Helm, Golden. The defense.

That's not a bad point, but I would say that fans expected an NC run, and if we fell short (as we did) the narrative would have been "why the hell did Sark go with the kid"?

agreed re the OL especially but it’s not the world we live in. Thankfully he had several full games though to practice against live competition.

Oh, I know. He wasn’t going to come out and say Ewers was still banged up either.

That QB draw they converted in the SECCG was obviously coming.

His downfall was quite something from the year before to last season. I'm just glad Cristobal gets to deal with his shitty kicking now.

SEC has had a good run of QBs the last 10-12 years.

There’s always a few at the top that are good to great. But it’s never been a QB league.
