That’s only because Art Howe had a quick hook on Jim Clancy in that game at Riverfront in the late 80s and pulled him after 7 batters in the first (all scored) before Bob Forsch came in and matched him with 7 of his own.

but seriously, that is an amazing stat . The fact it happened in the 10th makes it even moreso

Good win last night.

Still not seeing 80+ wins.

i have a hard time believing this team in its current configuration is getting more than 70 wins. At what point do we panic? I feel we are getting really close to a sell off and rebuild. Crane would love that so he can save money, make money and sucker fans into a total youth movement , so ridiculously lame. Yankees, Dodgers never seem to do that they are professionally run organizations. It seems Crane struck gold in 2014 and has not been able to keep that magic going.
Crane please get a legit front office again.

Also, seeing Jake make a great catch coming in yesterday was interesting. He runs some balls in the gao like crazy. He’s a really good OF. But, he’s got his glove on 2 balls in the last week that he hasn’t caught.  Oth of them on the warning track running back towards the wall. He is absolutely terrified of the wall. I get it. It messed up his career big time. But, it literally cost us the game on Monday a day after Dezenzo dropping a pretty easy fly ball cost us the game Sunday. 3 losses, both with the catchable balls not being caught directly not ending innings and leading to 4 and 3 runs respectively in 1 run losses.
Really frustrating because 20-16 feels so much better than 18-18.

Yeah who had been sucking in A ball but got his first win with 5inning 1 hit last outing

They paid way more of Presley’s salary the. They needed to in order to get that guy. They also tried to get him in the Cam Smith deal. There is something about him that the pitching staff liked, so, I have high hopes.
The Astros clearly have a different way of doing things pitching development wise, nice to see him have that really solid outing. I’ve got moderately high hopes for him as a A guy.

In Denver going to Rockies vs Detroit.  Tuesday's game got rained out so today is DH.

Told my cousin I ain't sitting through 2 Rockies games in one day, but that option beats the alternative of zero.

Yeah, outside of the first 6 years of the franchise, the Luhnow rebuild (and Covid/strike shortened years) we’ve only had 2 seasons of 70 or fewer wins.

1975 and 1991.

I’m still sticking with my preseason prediction of 85.

looking back at that ‘91 team, it’s too bad that lineup wasn’t a few more years developed.

Biggio 25

Bagwell 23 (ROY)

Caminiti 28

Gonzalez 23

Finley 26

the pitching on the other hand (one starter with an ERA under 3.69 (Harnisch at 2.70) playing in the dome, was not

I knew divine mischief was afoot. You expect me to believe Scott Podsednik hits a game tying home run in the bottom of the 9th in game 2 without some help? The same Podsednik who had 0 home runs in 568 ABs in the regular season?

That was a walkoff, after we had scored two in the top of the 9th to tie it off of Jenks.

That lineup from Espada. Dubon st 2B, Rodgers at DH while Cam, Chas and Caratini sit is certainly a choice.
it’s like he’s tryin to get fired. Fuck I hate that clown. At least Dusty told good stories and brought banana pudding to Chas.

That lineup is hard to look at. Not that there are lots of alternatives. It’s just ugly these days.

I mean, Cam Smith needs to play every day (ish) or spend at least 3 or 4 weeks in Sugar Land (maybe 3 or 4 months) so we get another year of club control out of him (3 or 4 weeks) or we keep him not as super 2 (3 or so months would do that trick). It happened with Tucker.

Holy Shit - Rodgers at DH!

While Yordan is out, Rodger’s should play at 2b and Altuve at DH. This allows Cam and Dezenzo to get consistent at-bats.

Espada can’t even fill out the lineup card correctly.

It’s such a no-brainer

before Yordan got hurt Dana was talking about Dezenzo needed to get regular ABs or they have to looked at sending him down.

then he got hot and got regular starts. And the Yordan injury opened up a door for both him and Cam to get regular reps but Espada is too dumb or stubborn to walk through it.

Espada is a fucking moron of the highest order that learned from another fucking moron of the highest order in  Dusty Baker. Really wish Crane would sell the team to get rid of the HOF Cabal that has fucked this team royally the last 3 seasons and maybe we can get another architect to rebuild the franchise again.
