We ran the ball 56 times.  I can't get into Sark's head to know why, but we started the game basically hit 2 20-yard passes, then decided to run every play that wasn't 3rd and long after that.

Baxter is such a disappointment

I don't consider him a disappointment at all. Injuries happen, and before he left game he was averaging over 5 ypc. Let's hope he makes it back, then we'll have four RB's and won't have to rely on just him. He's not as great as I hoped he would be, but that's recruiting, and rankings. He's playing just well enough (when healthy) to make a difference.

Well, actually, we found three. Gibson didn't fumble, Clark can catch, and Simon will be special. Dude takes hits, spins out, and grinds for yards.

Clark can be really good once he stops dancing behind the LOS

Simon had 70 yards in basically a qtr and a half with a dog shit game plan and shit o line.  Futures bright for him

I think he may be kin to me. There's still a few Simons in Shreveport but most of us are along the I-10 corridor from Louisianato southeast Texas, I know his dad is from Baton Rouge.

How many times does a coordinator get the head coaching job (other than interim time frame) when the head coach gets fired?  It’s happened but has to be rare as hell.

Clay Helton was his OC at USC. Both his known mentors are defensive coaches. Maybe we should have considered while hiring that he ran kept Reggie on the side and ran Lendale.  Cant complain about lack of 4th down ineffectiveness now.

He is a China doll. Injury prevention is part of being an athlete unfortunately.

There’s just a lack of some basic fundamentals out there on O. OL had a difficult time with basic coverage.

The Wingo sweep was a comedy of errors as 83/Shannon moved out to block and let two people pass him by while he hand-checked air.

Route running looks slow and sloppy.

And our QB is still missing easy throws in the same manner as game #1.

Play-calling is probably not helping him out much either.

Not good, Bob.

I’d say hire Marcus Freeman and make Sark the OC.
he clearly can’t handle being a Headcoach

L o fucking L

Chris Simms played 5000 times better than what we're watching. What a stupid comparison.

The correct comparison is Shea Morenz

Not that impressed with Clark. Simon definitely, Gibson maybe. Not impressed with Baxter either. 5ypc against Utep means nothing. Running game pretty mediocre under Sark. Can't believe he coached under Saban for years.

He's still young and he'll find what works for him. His dancing got him some yards, but it also got him tackled for no yards. It's his first game as a featured player, so I can't blame him for wanting (in his head) to put on a show like this is hs. He'll be better.

Simon, OTOH, is fucking ready. No dancing. Just runs forward, takes on tackles, drags dudes with him for a gain of 4-6 each pop. He's all business. I love it. I honestly expect him to demoralize aggie.

I recommend volleyball. Might not be your thing, but this team is a lot of fun to root for. Two really gutty wins already this season with the chips down against top 10 teams.

Good point.  I do like volleyball.

Yes. We are undefeated and #1 with Ewers.

I wince when I admit to this, but we all know it's true.

Does anyone on this board remember a worse win?

I can't.

Before my time, but didn't we win some fluke, bs lucky game against North Texas?

Defense is possibly best in the nation. Offense might be the worst.

If Sark has the balls to use Arch as a battering ram, we can still have a nice season. If we continue this charade of pretending he is a passing QB we will finish with a losing record.

Maybe I missed it but what happened to Simmons?  Did he get hurt or benched?

Also Dia Bell has to be on decommit watch.  Can't have back to back "generational" QBs look like trash under your tutelage.

Sark also needs to stop sniffing his own farts.  His play calling is beyond predictable. Needs more change on offensive side of ball.

I like the outside the box thinking here. Let’s play him at QB. Can’t be worse.

Maybe, but today had nothing to do with the play calling.
