9 tonight on PBS. A story about Fred Bednarski. It should be great Texas football history.

Just watched it on PBS. Enjoyed that. Fred Bednarski is a great man with an American story. An everyday hero.

4th and 18 was awesome, but being down to 2004 Kansas with 4 minutes to go in the final quarter and needing a miracle play to pull it out doesn’t really support that he was college football’s god quite yet. We beat them 66-14 the next year when VY ascended.

That '05 Kansas was the earliest, in 40+ years of watching Texas football, I have ever heard the LHB play the "game over" version of Texas Fight! I think there was something like 12 minutes to go in the second quarter. 😂

Taps-in-1, for those in the know

I think Vince got pulled shortly after the half. Mack should have let him rack up some more stats as it would have helped his Heisman campaign.

I was coming back from my honeymoon and went to the game. Got tickets for cheap as soon as they started selling them. Thought about reselling them just before the game. Glad I didn’t.

I met Fred when my son was kicking field goals at Hill Country Middle School several years ago. Interesting story and a nice man.

Anyone have the TV ratings for this game ? I seem to be able to find all but this one

Same here. I found countless articles about the Pop Tarts Bowl ratings, but nothing after that. It's like they stopped counting.

Bowls are still alive despite reports to the contrary.

I mean it was Michigan vs. Texas. People are going to watch.

"Third and a long 3 to go... just outside the Baylor 30... Cotten under center... the snap... turns left... hands it to Ramirez... off tackle he dives... powers down to the 27 where he nestles in a nest of red jerseys... and the chains move... first down Longhorns!"

So who were in red jerseys?

9,051,104 million? Seems like a lot.

Humble broadcasting the SW Conference.

"Ten fresh downs and ten fresh yards."

Just realized, my first quote should have been "Four fresh downs and ten fresh yards." Math is hard. Memory is harder.

I was told there would be no math?????

Somebody lied. There is always math.

I listened to Connie Alexander telling how the tackle was made by a " bevy of Bevos" or a "herd of Mustangs."

Also, his auction like call when a player would break away on a long touchdown run.

Then the point after was "true and through."

There's just no way the Citrus Bowl had more viewers than A&M's PLAYOFF game. There's just no way.

I think it was the two TBS games with the G6 teams

They counted a million times to track the audience (every 10milliseconds or so) but instead of reporting the average, they reported the total.

I was wondering if anyone would catch that. I just couldn't bring myself to write "green", forgot to go back and change Baylor to 0U, and when I noticed it was too late to edit. Didn't look like anyone gave a fuck, so I didn't bother to mention.

Obviously the portal fuckery has made most all of surly forget about Meatchicken... other than most of their OL seemingly interested in getting the hell out of Ann Arbor... Psych!!

Alot of those viewers of the aggie & ou games were us, just to see those sad sacks lose one more time.

I started to watch it, but the lack of excitement led to me taking a nap.

His grandson (I think) Fred Jr. was a walk on linebacker in 1986. Nice guy.
