I think I actually prefer JR’s reaction to the news as opposed to the ~rest of maga trying to send t&p’s. This one is at least authentic asshole coke head gibberish

I was there from 12-14 and I don’t know what you’re referencing.

My bad.  Chris Chris is a fake character on the Ticket morning show.  Over the top sales guy/coke head who lies and exaggerates about everything.   It’s a fitting description for Jr

Don Jr. GRILLED by CNBC Hosts About Trump Meme Coin: ‘As Bad as Hunter’s Art’

https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/don-jr-grilled-by-cnbc-hosts-about-trump-meme-coin-as-bad-as-hunters-art/

Quote

The hosts of CNBC’s Squawk Box grilled Donald Trump Jr. about the $TRUMP meme coin — which has been heavily criticized by ethics watchdogs who have concerns that bad actors can use the coin to purchase influence.

In the Squawk Box interview on Tuesday, Joe Kernen — who is often (but not always) a purveyor of pro-Trump commentary — confronted President Donald Trump’s son about the coin, which according to one recent estimate has generated more than $320 million for the president and business entities connected to him.

“Is that OK — for your dad to have a meme coin?” Kernen asked bluntly.

Don Jr. noted that the coin was launched before Trump’s second term began, but overall defended the family’s foray into cryptocurrency.

“There was a time … I could call any single banker in New York City, they’d pick up the phone, I’d be able to get a loan for whatever real estate project I was doing across the street,” he said. “Then we got into politics, and all of a sudden, they wouldn’t take your call. You couldn’t get financing. We were de-banked. And what I realized, and my brother realized — because we were the recipients of every subpoena imaginable — was that… we were actually just the top of this sort of pyramid scheme that we didn’t realize we were a part of. That the financial system was totally un-democratized.”

He added, “So we got into crypto not because it was like, ‘Hey, this is the next cool thing.’ We got into it out of necessity.”

Andrew Ross Sorkin — a far more-frequent Trump skeptic than his co-host — pressed Don Jr. about the ethical issues generated by the coin.

“Invariably, people are always going to question whatever any president does,” Sorkin said. “But one of the things that people do demonstrably question is they say this meme coin that your father has creates the opportunity for foreign adversaries, people in the U.S., anybody if they want, to effectively funnel money to the president.”

“It’s as bad as Hunter’s art,” Kernen said — referring to Hunter Biden’s paintings which sold for upwards of $500,000, and whose buyers remained undisclosed. Kernen added, “It just seems like it greases the skids for influence.

“I wasn’t involved in the meme coin,” Don Jr. said. “I’m more focused on obviously the stable coin, the Bitcoin mining.”

“You’re not taking responsibility for the meme coin,” Kernen said, interjecting.

“No, I’m just saying for the reality of the meme coin is it’s sort of a proof of concept that the crypto world understands…that the markets may not necessarily be fair,” replied the younger Trump. “The traditional banking system may not be fair to them. So it’s a proof-of-concept of what I think we can move the needle in crypto. And I think that’s going to be the future of finance.”
