  1. Past hour
  2. A jesus freak kid got a teacher to be forced to resign at my ex's high school in the early 2000s for showing Romeo and Juliet which was against her religious beliefs. This shit isn't something new and moral panics certainly aren't anything new or unique to this generation.
  3. Yes. As I stated previously, the College (Arts + Science) appeared to be either going through or revising a plan to go through the protocol to amend either instruction and/or content and/or description etc. once the initial complaint was lodged. It was a summer class and thus I expect things to not run as quickly because many faculty are likely on 9 month appointments (if it's like other unis) and so while the lecturer was obviously there and teaching, coordinating all the others to meet probably took awhile and meanwhile the clock is ticking. But yeah, the video from that summer class being released now means instructor will be/was fired. Should they have been fired/released from the beginning? No. But given the way the argument was framed it was going to go that way. The Dean and Department Head were released from their administrative positions but were not fired from the school unlike the lecturer. The legal grounds for firing them were likely on shaky ground when examined by counsel. The domino effect will restrict and censor courses and topics regardless of elective status because that is the way it's going to go. Sucks to our assmar.
  4. Put me in the camp that unless you want to go into a very very tightly networked industry like Wall St; it really doesnt matter where you go to school, relatively speaking. Especially if your kid has some work ethic and a personality. My son will end up with zero debt because he's getting free undergrad at Alamo College here and living at home. He wil be able to roll his 529 into his ROTH with an engineering degree from UTSA. He can spend the remainder of his 529 taking motorcycle mechnic courses because thats his passion. No AI or robot is going to fix a Ducati.
  5. Then the math should show a shift towards more productive extended drives, and it apparently isn't, so . . .
  6. We saw evidence of this all of last year too. If Quinn hits a few deep balls then we are sending an avalanche of shit on our opponents and winning games by 3+ scores easily. Lots for us to work on of course, but I'm not gonna worry about what we do versus these overmatched teams like some on here. If we look like shit fried over against Florida, then I'll start worrying. It's not like Georgia, LSU and Penn State have been setting the world on fire.
  7. feeds still missing a lot of unread content.
  8. But modern defenses are being designed to take away those easy scores and deep scores so having to grind out drives is necessary.
  9. So as we've seen from this example, social media shaming adults into action is partially to blame. It has empowered young people to feel they don't have to listen to something they don't agree with or they feel runs counter to their religious beliefs or overall belief system. Some are fine with this until it's their beliefs that are the ones being attacked and removed. Then it's a bridge too far.
  10. That’s on Reagan for undermining AMTRAK.
  11. Now, now Brisket. We both know that he's simply being consistent. When it comes to blue states doing things they don't like, they maintain the same "hey, who are we to question it. That's the law. Take it up with the courts," approach.
  12. I had no idea Malachi Nelson was the UTEP qb. 5 stars baby.
  13. Have some balls, for once in your life -- BE the finder of fact. Tell us how YOU would rule in such a case. Have a spine. Just for giggles, once in your life. Tell us how YOU would find in such a case, you pathetic coward.
  14. This thread has been properly derailed.
  15. As a founding member of this board's James Talarico fan club, this is the kind of race I was hoping he'd avoid. An almost certain L here will put him on the list of "popular with democrats but unelectable state-wide" candidates with Beto and Wendy Davis. I was hoping the party would find a congressional district for him, but with the new maps they're already going to have more qualified candidates than seats.
  16. If I were a member of any of those people’s family and cared about them, I would beg them to never do anything like that again.
  17. Your fault for marrying the president of the HOA.
  18. Sark literally (literally!) said in a press conference this week that his philosophy is to gain yards on explosive plays because the analyticis show that scoring drops precipitously when an offensive is predicated on long, grind it out drives.
  19. How about this, do you think its good legal/educational policy for college professors to have to walk on eggshells when it comes to teaching a piece of literature that features a gay or trans character? If you're response is a continued "ThE Law'S tHE laW" then you're every bit the beta bitch boy that you're coming of as with this pussy ass bullshit.
  20. UT 42 UTEP 10 Yards 222
  21. The ease with which SJSU blew up that "fake one way, spin around backward" screen pass was humiliating. Probably time to vault that one for a while.
  22. Eva should be pleased to learn about my plans for a sanctuary bedroom. Admittedly "pleased to learn" might be a bit of a stretch.
  23. it is a spice...
  24. It would be nice to know what is playing into that number on special teams. Are they weighing punting, kicking, and returns all equally? Is there a way to factor in coverage stuff? If your kickoff specialist just kicks it through the endzone every time, so your opponent starts on the 25, how is that compared to a team that kicks it to the 5 and tackles their opponent on the 23?
