The Leopards Eating Faces and Unlubed Dildo of Consequences Thread

Somewhat related, I am like a little Keith Richards in that I pick way up by the neck, but I've been working on some twang lately with a Strat and picking back by the bridge for single note lines. Turns out that slap back is a bigger part of that sound than I really ever gave credit for. I added a little in the monitors and it was like "oh yeah, there it is."

Tried all that but what eventually worked was just deleting all Chrome cache. Just in case anyone else has issues.

One is orders of magnitude less crappy than the others. and to your point about the strong executive, which of those choices is most likely to be aware of where they need help and surround themselves with capable people rather than reward his cronies with largesse?

If you feel like being brave; play rhythm with the tele bridge

Or a completely inexperienced guy who thinks more of the same except with more visible symbolic action will make NYC more affordable. I know who I’d vote for if I could, but those are all very crappy options. This is a great example of why I hate the strong Mayor system so much. City government is too tangible and present in our lives to choose executive managers responsible for sanitation, transit and land use (let alone truly knowledge based fields like construction standards, schools and law enforcement) based on what mouth noises a plurality of voters finds least challenging. It’s the best example I can point to of what Christopher Hitchens’ called politics being reduced to “a sordid auction between banal populists.” The only thing shocking about this round is that they haven’t had such a depressing field before.

Posting this in both DT and CR, very longcat Facebook post from a HS friend of mine who is a defense attorney and whose wife is the exact kind of US citizen who is being threatened by Trump's policies. Spoilering because quite long but worth the read.

Why are these people called settlers? They are religious fanatics

Neanderthal McCarthyism. Even a caveman can persecute you!

This is news involving a current event. Definitely has a Texas slant. Apparently contracts for the call center staffers either canceled or not renewed in midst of crisis. Comments?

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/us-aware-reported-death-american-after-beating-by-israeli-settlers-2025-07-12/ RAMALLAH, West Bank, July 11 (Reuters) - A Palestinian American man was beaten to death by settlers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and a second man was shot dead, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement, in a confrontation overnight. U.S. citizen Sayafollah Musallet, 20, also known as Saif, was severely beaten in the incident on Friday evening in Sinjil, north of Ramallah, the ministry said. Hussein Al-Shalabi, 23 was shot in the chest. Musallet's family, from Tampa Florida, said in a statement that medics tried to reach him for three hours before his brother managed to carry him to an ambulance, but that he died before reaching the hospital. "This is an unimaginable nightmare and injustice that no family should ever have to face. We demand the U.S. State Department lead an immediate investigation and hold the Israeli settlers who killed Saif accountable for their crimes," the family statement said.

The Arch to Endries (TE1) will be a connection this year, as well as the other wide outs. Endries does like to put his hand in the ground and block for the running game (historically) so I expect the same going forward. Such a great get to replace G Helm. Hook’em!!!

My mind came back to this post when I read the NYT story about the mass firing of FBI Agents. You know, something commonly called a purge by plain speaking people not afraid to say out loud what they actually see. Check it out. Mealy mouth NYT> Hmm, anybody sense a bigger story here? Maybe my favorite, Unease. Holy shit, they're not at ease down at the FBI. Let's not sugar coat it! Fuck you, Times. How about: Trump Increases Authoritarian Grip at FBI Loyalty Tests and Mass Firings Weaken Rule of Law Biggest story of their lives and possibly the history of the republic, and the college boys and grad students strictly follow templates. Nothing above is libel nor inaccurate. It's not editorial. It's a self-evident truth that these idiots can't find the wherewithal to either recognize or say out loud. It's a deplorable failure. The opposition party has been negated by decades of propaganda. The press is supposed to be the antidote to that. Just like lawyers leaving law firms that are bending the knee (OMG! realizing that the dream of the big firm partnership is not worth the degradation. But we all hate lawyers like we hate Dems!), reporters and editors should jump off the gray lady and find a place safe for clear, honest reporting. Of course, the larger part of the population has been convinced that lawyers, unions, government, the press, and the courts are their enemies, so money will be lost doing the right thing. Fight. ETA: Oh, about the markings. The yellow marks the important part of the story. Believing the cover of loyalty tests in the name of preventing news leaks would be funny if it were not so timid and naive. "Well, that's what they said, ya know." You're an idiot and disgrace. Note: The stories copied above present the newest stories at top.
