  2. It's just so stupid that when they're not hitting and up by 20 points they just keep doing it. Even going 40% for 2 points still gets them a win...also gives more chances to get to the free throw line. It's just insanely shitty basketball.
  3. Another reason why people don't take your football takes seriously Derka. Anyone here who even understands football a little bit watched defense after defense trot out at least two deep safeties for the majority of the time Sark has been calling offense at the University of Texas. In fact, quite a few of them tried to run the 3 high flyover that has been so successful in the past vs Sark offenses. Even when we trotted out 12 personnel. Did a couple teams get aggressive in the box? Sure. Georgia did in our second meeting as a changeup and Quinn threw for 358. You can't just spout out easily refutable untruths Derka, like "the rb room was performing admirably" when every single loss we had we didn't crack 60 yards. A solid running team can run on any box because there are always angles and blocking schemes you can use to counter them. If you come out of every big game with a yard or two per carry you are NOT a good running team. Full stop.
  4. BUT THEY HAD A GENTELMEN'S AGREEMENT!1!!1!
  5. Was that with Waxahatchee?
  6. Looks like we're probably headed to Atlanta in September for the Shaky Knees festival. I see The Pixies are playing on Friday -- anyone know if that's the original band lineup?
  7. It's a Joseph Heller novel where dumb irony is the main character. Saban is likeable enough when telling old stories or talking about program structure or "the process." Whatever. This presentation of him being the noble statesman rep for when things were pure and fair is pathetic. Watching Saban begin to actually believe in this new version of himself is a front row seat to witnessing psychotic delusion. It was somewhat hilarious at first. Now it's infuriating. I wish some other coaches would start speaking up about the realities during the era of "when things once made sense to Nick."
  8. Hell yeah - let’s go to war and win it all - I’d prefer max grubbs - dv to valuable on the back end right now
  9. I thought that architecture looked kind of familiar....the three bridges in Dallas are Calatrava

  11. Deja Vu 2: Electric Bugaloo
  12. Yes, it does. And India can divert more than they currently do. Any hit messes up Pakistan.
  13. Although Texas has still never won an outdoor men’s T&F national championship, the Texas men have finished runner-up in the NCAAs 4 times and most recently in 2022 under our current Coach Flo. We had the team to get over the hump in 2022, but we choked it away in a few events where we were heavy favorites and Florida took advantage to win the chip that year.
  14. This thread is my only reminder that's there's still a Democratic Party.
  15. ...and to sit down and STFU or GTFO you stupid cucks.
  16. I mean this is the University of Texas. The standards are what they are.
  17. If you want to read more about that https://hydromet.lcra.org/Documents/2007_flood_report.pdf Lat time the lake was considered full was 2019, I think
  18. You get long term cap gains rates after 1 year. You only qualify for exemption if the home was your primary residence for 2 of the last 5 years.
  19. He was protecting aggy from themselves...voting no would have been such an embarrassment...and so on brand for aggy.
  20. I was on other side, Section 103, Row F. Great show. I think I’ve seen Wilco several times on a Wednesday and “Wilco Wednesday” comes up every time. Waxahatchee was terrific. I like Katie’s voice better in person — it seems less “scratchy”??? We caught their set at High Water, which was fun. This was a better representation of them as a performing band but that venue was understandably cooler.
  21. In Denver going to Rockies vs Detroit. Tuesday's game got rained out so today is DH. Told my cousin I ain't sitting through 2 Rockies games in one day, but that option beats the alternative of zero.
  22. I was 90% sure it was joe. what a bunch of dumbasses. they may never get a better chance. if eva gets any wind of it she will play her idol on him. they had her hoodwinked perfectly. my prediction is kyle and kamilla call the next vote. mitch, and joe or shahin get looped in to blindside the other. one of those two have to go next.

Are you growing? Are you trying? Are you failing anyway, but then trying again? Seems like all of those get a "yes," and honestly, that's all any of us can hope for - in ourselves or others. If we're being honest with ourselves, when we look into the mirror, we see both a good and a terrible person. I do, at least. Your current situation is one of those challenging curveballs that life, other people, and society tend to throw our way. I've shared some of those with this group, some of them I've kept to myself (maybe I'll share them someday, maybe not, maybe some of them, I'm still in the midst of sorting out). But know that everyone has to deal with one or more of those over the course of their lives. I do think that so much of it comes back to empathy. That doesn't need to be a namby-pamby word, or a command to enable bad/harmful/self-harmful behavior, and figuring out where that line is can be a challenge. But making the effort to look at things through someone else's eyes pays huge dividends. That's true whether you are trying to be helpful and kind, or whether they are your adversary you're trying to defeat. Then the next level - at least in social and political things - is to realize that in the long run, "defeating" those you disagree with isn't a great outcome. It may have to be done in the moment, but ultimately..... we're all in this together, and nobody makes it out alive. Or, as a pretty fair guitarist once said, You see, we are here, as far as I can tell, to help each other – our brothers, our sisters, our friends, our enemies. That’s to help each other, not hurt each other. You're trying. You love your kid. Your wife loves your kid. You and your wife love each other. Keep walking. Keep learning and reasoning. Do the best you can. And keep doing the best you can. Help other people along the way with what you've learned, good and bad. Try to be better every day. Know that most days, you won't get it right. And try again the next day. That's all any of us can do. And that's all any of us should expect.
  24. PSA for those of you going to Fredericksburg anytime soon: Make sure you stop into Brooks Bubble Bar and grab a drink and enjoy the “views”. It is PACKED with young hot women on their girls trips.
