  1. Past hour
  2. Counterpoint, Jean Georges is awesome.
  3. Ojo has hated his wife for fucking years.
  4. Always liked a single digit running back number.
  5. I don’t think a heads up is out of line. If someone has options and is traveling with kids, maybe they pick another hotel. My wife and I went to NOLA for a long weekend once and stayed at a hotel on Canal Street because we liked the deal and we don’t mind the area. Well, this particular weekend, that hotel and several others were hosting an annual event called “Nawty In N’Orleans” - a swingers convention. The thing included timed sessions in conference rooms discussing aspects of swinging. It was surreal. These people attending were not the lookers you’d be hoping for in that situation. A ton of olds, fatties, and hillbillies. Getting talked up by people in every elevator ride got old really quickly. Would have been nice to have had a heads up so we could have picked something in the garden district.
  6. I don’t know, man. You kind of sound like the prick in this one.
  7. Comparing downtown Austin and downtown Houston for social activities would be like if I compared professional sports in Austin and Houston. No one is claiming that downtown Houston is better and that has never been a goal. Not to mention that this is Texas and Houston. Private businesses have the right to pretty much do what they want without interference.

    Deftones

Deftones is one of those bands I'd heard of but never really listened to during their "heyday," which is odd, because I liked similar bands. Anyway, just heard their new release and I dig it. It got me to go through the catalog and discover a few more. It's weird how some bands you'd surely like at the time somehow skip by. I'm also 100% certain my 14 year old is going to like this.
  9. I pretty much don’t care for most super and hyper cars these days, regardless of make. But I do also agree that Bugatti never for much for me. It would still be cool to see one in person, though.
  10. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  11. Nah, I’d say most of us on this board actually live in Houston. And I can tell you don’t really know the city. I don’t disagree with the negative points you’ve cited, but Houston also has a lot going for it that you won’t find in Dallas, San Antonio or Austin. Living in the most diverse city in the country has its positives.
  12. It’s to the point where Democrats need to break some unwritten rules. Research the names of these people’s children, and publicly shame them in public. “Sarah, does it make you proud that your father has completely abandoned all of the principles to follow a man who couldn’t pick him out of a lineup?” “Jimmy, how does it make you feel when your mom says things on tv that are completely opposite of what she says at home?” It’s time for mental warfare on these folks.
  13. Oh, I love Greek food. But I'll take my chili Texan, thank y'all kindly.
  14. A taste of their Russian future if we can’t get out shit together and help them beat the muskovites back.
  15. He gets us. All of us.
  16. trump kicking him was my biggest lol moment of the episode, even though i saw it coming a mile away.
  17. This guy has one personal scandal after another. Even if one or two is exaggerated, you don't have this much chaos without some fundamental issues. He's thought to be lying about ownership of companies that sell to the US govt, along domestic assaults and now this revenge porn story. Besides can you trust a guy who looks to put so much gel in his beard that he looks like a 1970s GI Joe action figure. EDIT: Without searching, I bet he's a guy who regularly uses the phrases alpha and beta male, has membership at a UFC gym, and most likely only dates women under 21. However he will be clear with you that she's at least 18 and legal.
  18. NGL, I get the bear claw off that rack from time to time.
  19. This arrived yesterday: Looks like the picture. Color correct. Polyester like you'd expect for a 60's bowling shirt. The cursive stitched "Austin, TX" on the sleeve is a nice touch. Took them all summer to get in any size other than S
  20. No matter what I order at Chuy's, I always leave feeling bloated and awful. I think it's probably an abundance of salt in their salsa (or everything I eat there). It's another level compared to most Tex-Mex places I go. I try to avoid it at all costs.
  21. There's been an ongoing topic that carries a little bit of conflict in my marriage. My wife wants to go on a cruise; I hate cruises. I've actually never been on one. I'm just pretty sure I'd hate it. I like to do my own thing, I don't like gluttony and I don't like being around a bunch of fat people. Anyway, my wife and I know where we both stand on the subject of cruises. Stupidly, for my MIL's birthday, my wife's "gift" to her mom was a trip. "Trip" was totally undefined, though my wife suggested the MIL's hometown. MIL was like, "Fuck that. Why would I want to go back there!" I LOLed to myself. But that morphed into my wife coming up with alternatives, one of which was a cruise. I was like, "Fine. Go. Good for you. But I'm not going." It got complicated where kids were going, which meant I would be the only one in my family not there (and not available to help with the kids). I was just like, "Hey, tough titty. I'm happy for you and the kids to go and I'm happy to pay for it, but I'm not going." This conversation happened like 3-4 times. Each one was the same - she'd describe some new wrinkle in the plan and mildly try to convince me to go and I'd tell her, again, I don't like cruises and I don't want to go. Fast forward to our road trip vacation this summer. First couple of hours in the car we're talking, catching up on a bunch of shit. Then she brings up the cruise again. "Hey, you know the cruise with my mom we've been talking about?" Mind you, this is like the fifth time she's brought it up. I responded, "Look, I told you. I'm not going. You and the kids can go. Great. But you know I don't like cruises and I am not going to do it." Her response (she's all pissed off now), "Well, if you would LET ME FINISH, I was going to tell you that plans fell through so it's not happening!" WTF? If the point you are trying to make is that the cruise is off, then A) why are you bringing it up in the first place, and B) you should lead with that, not with the same intro you used in the last four conversations about it where you tried to guilt me and convince me to go on this fucking cruise. We argued about it and it turned into this big fucking fight and she was pissed off at me for the rest of the trip. When we got home we were still fighting. At one point I told her, "Let me give you an example of why this is fucked up. Hey, I wanted to bring up anal sex again." "And then you say, 'I told you! I'm not doing it!!'" "Then I say, 'Well, if you would LET ME FINISH, I was going to tell you that I'm not interested in it anymore!" She was not amused, nor did she concede the point.
